They should just stick with the PS2/PS1 dual shock controller, and make minor tweaks as needed. If it aint broke, don't fix it. If they could stick a Sega Saturn d-pad on there, and leave the rest alone, that would be nice.

Yea, except for that whole " You stole our vibration techniques" Lawsuit between them and Immersion. I doubt that they are on good terms to be able to get rights to continue using the dual shock. So welcome to the bommerang age..

the PS3 controller will not be finalized until they can steal the secrets of the Revolution

not really

they should just pay the royalty fee's to immersion, and not have to worry about having a shitty ass controller

PS3 controller = final solution?

Yeah, I went there.

Here's my favorite rationalization of the PS3 controller (I'm sure all of you have heard it in one form or another).

"If you ever throw your controller in a fit of anger, at least it'll come back to you unharmed."

Style meets functionality. But style doesn't always mean good.;-)

And about the whole Immersion deal, it's only the vibration technology. Sony could very well just keep the design and take out the vibration feature...

I hope not. It looks ugly to me. I still can't get over that boomerang look.
Old 07-25-2005, 04:35 PM   #13
I think they made it ugly as possible so everyone will be happy with the new design. THey will say "at least its not that damn boomerang".

the contoller does look quite ugly, but who knows, maybe the controller will look better in preson and have a nice feel to it

I think people could use it for more then a boomerang...espcially with that feature that's in all Dual Shocks....
