is um jammer lammy known to be buggy?
and i am playing this and it is horrible for me the game just acts weird on me like i expected a little lag, but sometimes it just skips to a whole nother part of the song, and it also tallys points weird like on one section i know i can only get a certain number of points, but all of a sudden it changes my amount of points also, i miss very little notes, and all of a sudden it skips to the end, where i supposedly failed the song it took me forever to get through the first stage just cuz of these bugs WTF?!?!? btw if it matters i am playing it on my playstation 2 with a playstation 2 controller |

I played Um Jammer Lammy myself last year (the best of the Parappa games IMHO), and had no such problems. However...
I strongly recommend that PS1 rhythm games be played with a PS1 controller. I had problems with the PS2's full analog buttons requiring too much pressure to activate, so I missed more beats when using it. When using the PS1's original Dual Shock, my performance was much better. I got stuck in the concert in Hell -- I just can't keep up. The "baby sitting" level has got to be the funniest and most manic game level I have ever played in any game, and the Speed Metal airplane level really stuck in my brain for months and months. Its a shame more people have not played this game -- it is really great, and I certainly rank both Um Jammer Lammy and the original Parappa as being on the same level as ICO in terms of quality artistic direction and gameplay. Considering you can usually pick this one up for $1.00 on ebay (before shipping) I think every Sony gamer should give it a try. Damn shame Parappa 2 did not have online versus -- that would have kicked ass -- even more a shame that Japanese developers have been so slow in getting games online -- I mean, no online in Soul Calibur 3? C'mon Namco!!! U can do better than that!

Is the disc scratched anywhere on the bottom? I had a game that would skip while playing FMVs or background music because of a scratch. It was a fighting game so it was at most just a annoyance. I ran mine through a disc doctor and now it works fine. Other then that, I would second what donssword said and try your game in a PS1.

You aren't alone lol. When I first got the game it done the same thing. Sometimes it skipped to the end of the song or sometimes it skipped and showed the cutscenes of the Parappa part of the game even though I didn't unlock that part of the game. Now it skips so bad that I am unable to play it. Also I played it on the the ps1.

I bought mine new about a year ago and have had no problems with it. I'm playing it on a PS1 using the standard PS1 controllers. Maybe there was a bad batch, manufactured with disc errors.
