Bad news for GameCube owners. Capcom announced the Killer 7 will no longer be GameCube exclusive. Wonder what they'll end up doing for Resident Evil 4.

No, and its not that i cant own it, i have any system available. Its just that i LIKE seeing special things on the cube, and having some capcom exclusives was kind of nice.

And i also was listening to news about Disney and Pixar seperating...kinda pissed me off. 2 sucky things at once

Capcom makes more money this way and there's a better chance that this game will be released and have a sequel if sales across all platforms warrant it.

XBX-exclusive: Steel Battalion - sequel out 03/04
PS2-exclusive: Maximo - sequel out now
GC-exclusive: P.N. 03 - didn't perform too well
GC-exclusive: Tube Slider - didn't perform too well
GC-exclusive: Viewtiful Joe - critical acclaim, but unsure of sales
GC-exclusive: Gotcha Force - sales???

imo, with the past performance of some Capcom GC-exclusive titles, I was afraid that Killer 7 wasn't going to be published. The fact that it may come out for multiple consoles may ensure that GC owners will get a chance to buy it.

...well, when you make crap....

And technically steel batallion "didnt perform to well", Capcom just did the video game equivlant of selling a good cd they made out of the back of thier car. It did sell out, but these werent huge numbers by any means

Agreed. PN 03 was garbage. Steel Batallion, while excellent, was extremely niche.

it's funny when people say that Steel Battalion didn't sell well. truly funny. how can anyone consider a completely sold-out product not a success? not huge numbers? yet, successful enough to warrant a re-issue of the original bundle for $200. Spawned a new xbox live title that will also sell out because the user base is guaranteed.

not a success? please explain.

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. I think it is a good thing for Pixar, actually. I mean, the Disney arrangement was good for them to show what they could do, but it was way better for Disney than for Pixar.

Selling out a product is good. i Agree. But how often have you walked into any normal retail location and seen a steel batallion? It was a small, uber gamer success, but not a commercial success. The main problem is the controller. Controller needed, otherwise completely unplayable. DDR and Samba had special "controllers", but were at least somewhat playable without. The online edition of SB should be interesting to watch, since normal retail outlets seem to be stocking it, even without controller.

i agree with you and wshakspear. these games just weren't any good and for capcom to say well since gc exclusives didn't perform well we have to go multiple console. well of coarse the gc exclusives sold poorly.......the games sucked like a dirt devil.

Forget about the other games. My question is why should we even care that killer 7 isnt exclusive when we havent played the game to even know if it's worth the money?

I couldnt muster much interest for this game at all from the previews and descriptions the way I could for RE4. It just sounded like some weird niche title.

Yep, and thats why i want it. The Noir look and the bits of story ive read sound good for me. Also, if done right and marketed right, seem to be that nice midway between GTA and Cell shading that XIII was trying to do (didnt work).

And yes, RE4 looks incredible, id just like to feel the controls..i couldnt really get into the older ones because of that (DC, PS1/2 and GC couldnt end up making the game feel right)

I'm still waiting for a release date of Capcom Allstar Fighters, I hate the fact that is in 3D, but you know beggers can't be bitches.

Its nice to have some killer titles to a system thats in the doghouse for no reason.

I wish Killer 7 would have stayed exclusive but I am also thinking this will help sort out a lot of things....

If you notice on the PS2 boards no one is talking about Killer 7 its not on their radar.... Meanwhile every Cube forum I see has news on Killer 7 which means they wanted this game...

The end result might be that the cube sales stay even with the PS2, and as a ratio to userbase thats good for Nintendo. That will show Capcom that a decent game (if its decent indeed, and if its marketed well enough obviously) can sell very well on the cube....

Meanwhile if the opposite were to have happened... ie becomes PS2 exclusive then I would be upset that they based the Cube sales on PN03 and other such junk....

Meanwhile Viewtiful Joe was good but it sold out of stock early after its release, then a bunch of other titles hit and obviously it was forgotten...Meanwhile it wasnt really marketed I dont think I saw and ad or commercial for it once....

Oh well we as cube owners still get to play it.... and I am sure it will be superior anyway.

I had heard the same thing, but there was a huge uproar in Japan over it and Capcom decided to go ahead with production.
