This was taken from Maigc Box so I asume it's correct info.

EGM interviewed Square Enix director Yoshinori Kita, regarding to the possibility of a PS3 remake of Final Fantasy VII; He said it would take a team of 300 people to develop the remake in the quality of PS3, and the development would last 5 years. He has so many other projects in the pipeline and a FFVII remake would be a heavy task. He commented if the timing is right, it is a very interesting perspective. It seems Square Enix's first PS3 project is presumably Final Fantasy XIII, instead of the FFVII remake.
A FFVII remake is a very intresting perspective? More like It's a very big money making perspective that won't require much effort. I love it how they talk about a FFVII remake being fresh news, like "wow that might be a good idea." Either do it or quit giving FFVII fans blue balls.

I'm not part of a FFVII remake petition or anything, but I would love to see a playable Cloud on the PS3.

While I'm not a big fan of FFVII, I have to agree with you. A FFVII remake would sell like crazy.
What I really want to know is why SE isn't working on a new Chrono game.

I would much rather see a Vagrant Story sequal than a remake of FFVII

Where is Chrono sequel? How about another Mana game? Where is Seiken Densetsu 3 in a compilation pack with other Square games that didn't make it over like Tobal 2?

"Blue Dragon" = Chrono Trigger 2

All "Chrono Trigger" fans need to keep their eyes aimed at Mistwalker, the new developement company helmed by Hiranobu Sakuguchi (the creator of the original FF and various other Square properties including "Chrono Trigger"). Currently they have a game in development that teams Sakuguchi with Akira Toriyama (the artist and mangaka behind the game art designs for "Chrono Trigger" and "Dragon Quest VIII") called "Blue Dragon". Thiis will be the first time the duo has teamed up since the making of "Chrono Trigger" as they both declined to work on the "Chrono Cross" project.

Mistwalker is currently developing only for Xbox 360 and the Nintendo DS, but their games will be the new legends we talk of tomorrow.

They are also the sole reason I want an Xbox 360

Dragon Quest 5 remake ported here. Would like to see that. Theres the mana DS game coming out. Other then that like others said development with top graphics for the new systems is going to take a lot of time people and money.

The more I think about it and here the news the more I think nintendo is smart with 512 MB of flash with a possible upgrade for more. I mean 360 will have a core, and PS3 its going to be sold seperatly. Nintendo won on that front. Plus they said there trying to make it much easier to develop for then Sony and M-soft are.

Those X-box RPGs though. Those look pretty good. I think with that combined with Bioware the 360 is shaping to be a definite buy for RPG fans. If FF: CC the Mana game, and that FF3 port or whatever that no ones hear from since it was announced sell really well for the DS a lot more ports and new games might be converted to the DS as well. heres hoping.

Square Enix just want to wait on the results of FF7:AC sales before making any decision regards FF7 remake. They have made spin-off FF7 games; if all goes well then they will continue milking the FF7 cashcow. It's just too much of something is not a good thing.

Yeah, I've been waiting years for this too. Ever since that last line, "And thus begins the story of... The Vagrant."

I think squarenix is afraid that once they start doing more remakes (they've already done some improvements for origins, DoS etc.) that they won't make anything new because all the old stuff sells so well. An FF7 remake would be cool but what would their next project be a remake of Chrono Trigger, followed by a remake of FF6? Better graphics are always nice but unless the story changes the overall game remains nearly the same.

You ask this question now? They've been stupid ever since FFX-2 was developed.

I seriously lost a lot of faith in them after FFX-2. Square-Enix's days of great are long gone... we'll never see anything in the same caliber as FFVI, FFVII, Chrono Trigger/Cross, Vagrant Story, Xenogears or Secret of Mana.

I want sequels to so many of their great classic but at the same time, I fear they'll most likely it up. The only thing they have going for themselves now is Kingdom Hearts.

Kingdom Hearts II , can't wait.

I never played FFVI, Chrono Trigger/Cross, Vagrant Story, Xenogears or Secret of Mana.

I still don't understand why they did not ever release Chrono Trigger for the GBA, that thing would have sold a ton.

Square-Enix is like Nintendo, you tell them exactly what you want and they ingnore you and look at you like your stupid, I guess that makes both of them exactly like my girlfriend.

That's what it's there for. I think it's better to make people laugh than let them know what games you like. The first time I saw it I stared at it for a good 5 minutes just laughing. Anyways, I'm off topic, but hey, who cares.

I say its because they wont make a new Bust - A Groove (Move) dance game.
