I just had my beard trimmer/shaver crap out on me and I need a new one, I saw there was an old thread on this but I wanted to start a new one to get new ideas. I am looking for a quality shaver that shaves well and could possibly used for trimming a beard if I want to go Grissly Adams come winter time. Any help would be appreciated.

I have one of those TriBlade Remmingtons I used one time (my face was too sensative for it) LCD readouts and all that jazz.
As far as a retail one, Id suggest the Rems or the Brauns if you can afford it and use it a lot.

If you are going to spend serious money on it, the Brauns are awesome from what I hear. Avoid the gimmick stuff tho, just get a standard electric razor.
If you arent looking to spend a ton and/or are going to be hard on it, get a Remmington. Mine has a trimmer option built in and it keeps track of # of shaves left (it adjusts to your shave time) If you want to work out something, thats cool. If youd rather go retail, try Costco or Sams Club. Usually can save a few bucks since they buy Remmington stuff by the millions.

You have to adjust your face to the shaver to stop with the going over stuff. Plus, the tri blades (and most electrics in general) arent good when it gets any sort of length to it.
Make sure your face is clean and dry. Use a talc stick and then shave away. After a few weeks you ll be very pleased with how it works out. My trouble was I let my beard get too long and the problem is compounded with sensative skin.
Anyway, just stick with it whichever one you get. The tri foil Brauns are amazing but very $$$. Remingtons are (for the most part) old reliables and the best value.
Dont buy any other brands than those. The males in my family have tested about every one there is and found only these 2 were worthwhile.

Did it crap out crap out or just a dead battery? A real cheapass just needs to replace the rechargeable battery

I'm waiting for my replacement in the mail. I'm really excited.

Alternatively, I'm enjoying my Braun 7526 (no that's not the one I'm changing the battery out of).
