I have to pay to get a browser without an ad bar? Why would I choose this over IE or Firefox, then?

This is definately not a browser that any cheap ass gamer would ever consider getting.

My, my, my - the hostility that an ad banner can muster is amazing.

Anway, I don't give a rats arse if you use opera or not. If your smart you will try it and most likely end up liking it.

Ads or no ads, Opera is far superior to any browser out there.

All we need now is CAG irc chat so I can chat through opera.

Opera is good...and fast. I used to use Opera. But i got smart and downloaded the new firefox. Much faster than Opera, and no damn ad bar takin up half the screen. It blocks pop-ups and has a google searcgh toolbar. For computer newbs, it has a simple interface, but for pros (like me) it has alot of features.

opera is shit. Who charges for their browser anyways these days? Use firefox.

for plain speed, nothing beats IE. Unless you run some linux box or some other obscure OS system

You are shit.

Just because you don't pay for IE separately doesn't mean you're not charged for it.

And for plain speed, nothing beats lynx (or Opera with graphics turned off, which you can do with one keypress).

Of course, you're probably using IE, forgot to turn 'smooth scrolling' off, and by now way too stupid to understand any of this.

Are you referring to the British/German comment? Now I've got people keeping track of my posts better than I do. I was just correcting a mistake, like I always do when I spot one that matters.

I don't think it's got anything to do with yesterday's "joke". I killed a couple of people last night and got it out of my system.

I'm offended by whoever posted the above comment as a software developer. There's a big difference between software that's priced higher than the competition (or perceived to be priced higher), software that's priced higher than a particular person is willing to pay for it, and fecal matter.

But I've seen a lot of IE users, and I know what smooth scrolling does to people. It basically turns them into mindless drones. That's what we're dealing with. The problem is that it's very difficult for somebody like this to figure out what went wrong by themselves.

As is typical of people who put down opera. They give no info for why. I don't pay for it. The little window doens't bug me.
The reason to use opera.
It is the best, quickest, I don't like waiting and hate resorse hogs.

If you like waiting and having your resorses wasted on your computer. Keep doing what you are doing. Using crappy slow time wasting browsers.

I'd like to see them close a browser window, then decide they want to check something again, and un-close it.

Opera seems to be the only browser that still bothers with innovation.
