or do you have to return the item and rebuy it? sounds dumb but it is a loophole.

the Wal-Mart by me used to price match, and then they claimed they stopped price matching various specific stores, then they said the only price matched their direct competitors -- which they claim was only Kmart, despite the fact there is a target in the very same mall that sells similar items, and the nearest Kmart is well over twenty miles away.

My suggestion is before you waste a trip to call and ask

I'm pretty sure Wal-mart started the whole price matching thing to begin with too. I know they used to price match everything, but I haven't price matched anything in a few years, so things may have changed.

Are you wanting to price match a competitors ad or get the difference on an item you purchased that has gone down. WalMart will match any competitors ad on any item in the store. WalMart will also refund the difference if you purchased an item and it has been reduced for ten days from the purchase date. Trust me I am an employee of WalMart I should know.

Without a reciept you can not return videgames to WalMart for credit. You can only return unopened games with a reciept and you can exchange (for the same title) opened defective games.

Not true, I've been successful every time I've tried to return an unopened game to Wal-mart without a reciept. The store policy says they won't, but they always seem to do it anyway if you're polite.

i bought a gamecube august 21. wanting to know if they will refund the difference with a 30 day price match? also, i just bought a gamecube at academy for 79.88. do you think they will price match that too?

If someone has a question about Wal-Mart price matching things, I'm sure that your local phone book has the number to your local Wal-Mart so you can call and ask.

It boggles my mind how lazy some people are.

have you ever called wal-mart before? what they say on the phone and in person are 2 different things. and i also have an acquaintance that works there and this is his reply. "don't ask me. i'm just a cashier."

The Wal-Mart where I live price matches other stores. They will let you have the item for the other stores sales price provided you have the ad. That is how I get some of my video game items. They do not give you credit like some of the other Wal-Marts.

Wal Mart's return policy clearly varies by the store, so definitely YMMV. My Wla Mart used to take unopened games for store credit, but they stopped about a year ago. Just call your Wal Mart and ask to speak with someone in Returns; they should be able to answer your questions better than a cashier.
