Most EBs are giving out free demos for BLACK, and Toca Race Car Driver 3. Gamestops should be giving it out also. The demos that I saw were only for PS2.

Gamestop wanted me to preorder Black to get the demo.

No thanks, I'll pick it up in half the price Gamestop charges in probably 2 to 3 months time thanks to sales and coupons.... too much of a hassle cancelling a preorder at Gamestop.

Hopefully EB will just hand it out... usually GS here ALWAYS makes you preorder for free demos, while EB just has them sitting on the desk.

Thanks Tenzor, should move this into video game discussion though, since Black is hotly anticipated.

cool, Black looks really cool. When I first saw screenshots, I honestly thought it was next-gen.

TOCA Race Driver 3 looks really good so far, I'll definitely go see if I can get one

The ing BLACK demo is only 3 minutes tops. It's the lamest demo, the game was ok but the demo didn't hype me for the game. Kinda let me down.

my eb wanted me to preorder before they gave the demo.. screw them!

Perhaps Best Buy will have these, since they don't require you to pre-order the game like my local Gamestop/EB stores.

yea.... they always make me preorder the game then they give the demos out.

Both my local EB and local Gamestop ALWAYS make you preorder to get a demo. That's why I've never scored even a single demo from them. :P

I just bitch at them and say "Look, I just spent $5 on this game, gimme a free demo damnit"


Actually I always get free stuff from the good people at gamestop while I am there since I know some of the people that work there

Toca race driver 3 I don't need no demo I'm buying that stuff at $50. Toca is the greatest racing game IMO.

worst thing is when u go in preorder a game to get the demo come back later or the next day and another employee is just giving them out for nothing.

Yeah, that would be kind of crappy. Is it pretty difficult to get a refund for a pre-order? I don't plan on pre-ordering Black just for the demo, but I'm curious for future reference.

EB in Melbourne has been throwing things away that are 'FREE'. I guess they add nothing to the bottom line so they toss.

I got some free demos at one EB when I didn't even know they had demos to give away, I was talking to the guy asking him about games and he just gave me some free ones. He was really nice and helpful too. So I went to a different EB and the guy helping me said they're only supposed to give them out with preorders (he didn't give me anything) and he was smug and patronizing when I talked to him too. I bought a new PS2 game but the case was torn up and had the usual stickers on it (I hate how many new games are already open with the game out, and usually the case has all kinds of big stickers on it to take off), so I was saying how I like to get a clean case if I'm buying a new game at full price, so he gave me a clean DVD case (non-PS2) that didn't even have the release button - it was just the kind with the stationary hub that the disc just falls off of. Rant rant. And he looked like a preppy dork too in a bad way.

But really, I'm sure he's a nice guy.

Ah, hopefully the demos will be in the next OPM.

I just called mine and only If I reserve them.

This is pretty stupid...I mean if they gave out the demos to everyone. People who might show no interest in the games would pick them up with another purchase and might enjoy them and turn out to buy them.

Indeed, it's dumb to make you preorder to get the demo. I mean, what's the point? If I preorder, then I must want the game anyway, so why give a demo to the preorderers? They obviously don't need to be enticed to buy the game.

Give me the demo, let me try it, and if I like it, then we'll talk about me buying the game.

Anyway, my GS didn't have any of the demos. Oh, well. I'm sure that it'll be on next month's OPSM demo disc anyway.

i got the black (ps2) demo at gamestop. its true that its super short (only 2-3 minutes), but shit!... its so damn beautiful and fun. i'm gonna have to pick this up on release day. has anyone seen an xbox demo?

There should be no problem getting your money back. I've canceled some pre-orders in the past and had no problem whatsoever. If they give you slack (which should never happen) then tell them you want to talk to their district manager.

O yeah if you cancel your pre-order. You must be able to get your money back either credit card or cash. If you use a gift card or in-store credit...probably back as that. Not sure, never tried it.
