they will probally just move all the games to the maplecrest store... i doubt they will do any major sales.. I might stop over there tomorrow and ask them

I can see Tons of stores closing up very soon at glenbrook... i know a few other stores closing down in the mall cause the mall Is doubling their rent.... if glenbrook continues to do this I would expect the mall to fold up within the next 5-10 years... one place i know in the mall rent went from 2400 a month to 5,000 a month. and this is for a very very tiny place...

oh yeah, i knew there were like 10-15 already closing because of the rent. It was in the paper a few weeks ago. I figured EB games or Gamestop would go.

A few EB stores down here in southern california are closing down also. Its because the merger is going through right now, and they are closing all stores down that are next to each other. They probably choose between which store to close down based on their sales, and shrink (shrink = loss) they have. I am pretty sure the stores that are closing down won't have any sales. They are just going to transfer the inventory to other stores or to new stores opening somewhere else.

I doubt too there will be any deals... when the GS on Peterson closed after the strip mall anchor store (Kmart) went under, they stayed full price up to the end and then just shipped everything to other stores.

Yeah, I already explained it in the other thread, since I didn't notice this thread, about what's been going on at Glenbrook.

As for Gamestop, I was hearing this was going to happen since 2001, that they were going to close and move somewhere else. I don't know what to say about this. Some ways, I'll miss Gamestop because I go there everytime I go to the mall, although I rarely buy anything. However, I'm not really sad, because most of the interesting stuff is carried at the Mapplecrest store anyway, and I had way too many bad experiences with many employees in the past at that Gamestop, part of the reason I rarely shopped there.

If EB were to close down in the mall, although I doubt that happens, the person who raised the rates (or group) is going down. Although, I'm eventually moving out of Fort Wayne within the next few years, probably to Indy.

I kind of hope, when they close that Gamestop, they open another one. IMO, I would like one on the SW side of town, where it doesn't have to be too close to EB, more towards the west of Jefferson/U.S. 24.

If it did happen, which I doubt it, I wouldn't be around to take advantage of it.:( My semester really sucks right now at Purdue, since I'm taking several tough courses with massive projects, and short deadlines, so I rarely have time for anything (I've been down to 4-5 hours of sleep because of it). I can't go home too often, since I have so much to do, although I am going the first week of Feb.

On a separate issue, any idea whether a gift card from Gamestop can be used at EB Games in the wake of the merger and all? I've had one for some time and just haven't gotten around to using it. The few times I've been to the Glenbrook Gamestop I've seen little to pound my pulse.
