A friend of mine told me he bought some import DS games there, it's in Burlingame. Wonder if the store is any good, for those of you that have been there.

I picked up a bunch of Dreamcast games from them back in teh day, but havent been up there in a few years.

I need to get back up there sometime and see what they have.

Closer to my house, there is a store on Saratoga Drive off of 280 called "users side" or something like that.. Picked up a sakura pink PS2, and my black SP from there, as well as a handful of games.

Which, Network Video, in Burlingame, or Users Side, which is right next to the kinokunia Bookstore located at
685 Saratoga Ave., San Jose, CA 95129

Not sure of their phone number though. Google map it if you want to see where it is.

Is that in the same plaza as Mitsuwa (Japanese supermarket)? I actually live really close to there; I didn't realize anybody in that plaza sold anything videogame related aside from artbooks and OSTs. I'll have to check it out.

Oh, Users Side. I've been in there a couple of times. Fairly expensive, but that's how imports are...

i had the chance to visit 'pc pro shop user's side' in-person today (2/15/2006).

picked up:

1) PS2 devil may cry 3: trial version (japan) $5
2) GC biohazard 3: last escape (japan) $32.50
3) GC giftpia (japan) $27.50

lots of GC (japan) games were on 30%-50% clearance, i asked why? they said people moved on to psp and ds. ps2 slims in the japan only colors ($229), dualshock 2's ($32) in ceramic white, clear crystal, lemon yellow, and satin silver. also lots of titles i've never seen in the us, both for ps2 and gc.

i also asked them if they mod gc's or ps2's, and they said no they can not because they are an authorized retailer. guess, i'll go the freeloader 1.06 route then.

here's their website in english (3 stores in the us):

I havent been there in years but I did go there on occasion. I'm not really sure what the question of the topic is, the store is credible and a good source for getting imported video game related stuff. Since I haven't been there in a while I'm guessing the imported things are expensive but not outrageous for imported goods.

so I finally went to Network Video with a friend of mine yesterday. really cool store. though the prices were expected on a lot of stuff I was surprised to see a used US copy of Animal Crossing DS for only 19.99. my buddy got a bunch of stuff, I'll probably go back in the next month or so and get some stuff for myself.

FYI for anyone that goes to Network Video or hasn't been there in a while.

I went there yesterday and overheard one of the clerks there talking. He mentioned they were having trouble with customs and a lot of their boxes were being held. I forgot the reason exactly, but it does explain why they haven't gotten any new import games in a long while. Whether or not this will be fixed soon...I didn't ask.

It's still a great place to go for solid prices on used stuff though. The other day a buddy of mine was able to get Tetris Attack (complete), Super Mario Kart (complete) and Shaq-Fu (cart only) for $14 + tax.

so where is this "Network Video" exactly?

I usually go to User Side only to check some import titles, but rarely buy anything, although some of the titles can be seen over at Fry's.

Network Video is in Burlingame. Right off Broadway.

I went to User Side last month for the first time. Nice store, friendly people. I got a copy of the King of Fighter's Orochi Collection from them.

Has anyone been to Network Video in the last couple months? Anything new?

Last time I went there was around January. I'm tired of always going all the way out there.

Also if anyone lives near User's Side, I dropped by there today. Good selection of PS3, PS2 and Wii imports. A little more expensive than what you would pay on Play-Asia ($5-10 more in some cases). I didn't ask, but I'm assuming they have a bunch of Japanese consoles in stock as well.

For all you fighting game fans, they had Hokuto No Ken in stock.

hmm...next time I go to Copenhagen I'll look for Network...unless it really is shut down. FYI, Copenhagen is an amaaaaaaaazing bakery on Burlingame Ave, a few blocks over from Broadway. Check it out for sure if you're ever in the area for some reason.

Where did you hear this from? That would suck if it ended up being true.

Though I can't say I'm surprised. They've been having a lot of trouble bringing in new imports, which I assume is a customs problem.

It also doesn't help that they do in-store mods for PS2's and Xbox's.

I don't know how they can stay in business at this point, as their store hours have changed significantly over the past several months. The only time I have found them to be open is on weekends, and even then it's hit or miss. A great store though, I've purchased numerous import software and systems there over the past 8 years.

If they do close for good, they will be missed...
