Thought I'd get the blood boiling for diehard SONY supporters due to the news on a November 06' release. If you've read any of my posts in reguards to system loyalty then you know I have none. This is all in good fun and I will be getting my own PS3 this fall. Also if you can't wait until November 06' I heard new shipments of 360's are arriving all over the country.

i never expected the ps3 to even come out this year so i could care less... im waiting to catch a 360 .....

besides sony launch track record is probably worse then microsofts.. i would prob wait a bit before jumping on a ps3..not to mention i wish i knew how muc it would cost..

ive waited this long for a 360 and now good games are coming

I really love what Sony is doing - 60 GB HD, free live-ish service, downloadable older games, blu-ray player, simultaneous worldwide launch. They're going totally balls to the wall - they're either going to totally own everything or go out in a blaze of glory.

As far as I'm aware, the free live-ish service is basically rumored, the downloadable older games is basically rumored and the Blu-Ray player may well be their undoing according to multiple industry sources.

I'm planning on getting a PS3.. but don't buy into the Sony hype machine for the third time around.

Well, they said the basic online service will be free. I think it'll probably end up about the same as Live. 'Silver' is basic (free), 'Gold' is premium (pay). If I was a person deadset on getting the PS3 on launch, I'd be more worried about devs not getting final hardware until July. If you thought the 360 launch line up was bad, get ready for it to happen again.

... not sure why it sucks to be a fan of Sony. There was never any chance of a springtime launch in the US. Historically speaking, consoles have launched about 6 months earlier in Japan than they have in the US. Along with this, US launches usually occure in Q4 to bring in the big Christmas sales.

Again, not sure why this is a surprise to anyone.

Yeah, and while I'm not a Sony "fanboy", my last two consoles have been Sony. Are they the be-all, end-all of console makers? No. They can certainly do wrong just like any other company can.
But it's a great time to be a Sony fan, imho--I'm replaying FFX-2, playing Dragon Quest VIII, Jak X, Suikoden Tactics, Lego Star Wars, my boy plays the Dora game; I haven't even opened SH: Covenant yet. All but two of those are Sony-exclusives--I'm fine with a delay, especially since the Spring release was only 'rumored' as wel, IIRC.

November 06 release doesnt affect me at all. With all the awesome PS2 games still coming out, I think I can wait. Besides, November is just more time for me to save money. Whoknows, maybe there will actually be GOOD launch games come release.

BLOW ME! It is all in good fun...or did you fail to read my OP. You would think that a member who has been around since 03-24-2004 would know that this really isn't going to annoy anyone. Along with posts here, as well as in other PS3 related threads, no one truly expected a spring launch.

i was thinking that we should all get together and gangbang your mother. to clarify, i only mean it all in good fun.

Ha, I actually got bashed by fanboys when I posted PS3 would come out by next year or end of year 2006 and that the games will be Blu-Ray and more expensive....but now everyone is like "oh I knew it wouldnt be here spring-time" and not one word about how all games are gonna be blu-ray....and they will be more expensive considering that 360 games arent Blu-ray and they are at 60 bucks each...I bet PS3 games will be $70 each or higher.....this thing is 3DO.....i swear...watch the "Blaze or Glory" that is PS3 as they go out guns firing as they fall. If they sell this baddy cheap is the only way to suceed.....but that aint happening, i like they dont say if the HD is included but its now needed for the system to work at 100%....and i bet the free online service lets Net-Zero high speed dail-up host servers...abhabhba....no way.....I may get one to own one, but this thing keeps looking worse....hopefully for Sony they will have something AMAZING to say at E3 to restore some confidence in NON fanboys looking to purchase the PS3.....if it does fail, Sony will turn into sega and Nintendo will smile as they hang on yet again with perhaps MARIO part 26682365623569 and MS will suceed into hurting its competition by undercutting prices to get their product out there and hook people with its merchandise....craziness....just crazy

If I had my way, I would buy both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 unless one system has too few good games. So I'm not fanboy per se. I go where the good games are ....

But hey, Kingdom Hearts 2, Okami, and FFXII at some point... its pretty much awesome being a fanboy.

its nice that you try and disguise your idiotic topic by saying "it's all in good fun". Why can't you just make a normal informative topic about the new launch date?

anyway, I never really thought that they would make the spring launch (especially in the US). No loss for me. I wasn't planning on getting the PS3 until MGS4 hit which probably won't be until 2007. It still is a great time to be a sony fan though. Out of all my current gen systems, PS2 looks the most promising this year. Aside from Zelda, all my purchases for this year will be for PS2. Just bought MGS3: subsistence, willl be getting: Kingdom Hearts 2, Final Fantasy XII, God of War 2, Okami so far.

I honestly don't think anyone will take this as a serious shock... I never had any faith in Sony actually launching by Spring.

dpatel and ddhex27, you need to develop a sense of humor. There are enough "informative boards focusing on the launch. Also this site IMHO is a place to have fun and enjoy yourself. Unlike some posts and threads I come across, I did not attack the fanboys, but I'm guessing from your responses you lean towards SONY. Elements of my thread come off somewhat childish, but not in its entirity

How am I disguising my topic by saying this? I clearly stated my intent and it was in a comical sense; note the use of emotion inserts. If you misinterpreted it or read to much into it that is on you. Maybe if in the thread title I added a "smiley face" or "the rolling laughing head" you wouldn't have taken the thread so seriously. I'll say it again, if you want informative there are plenty of threads here and on the internet, so you don't have to waste your time here. Thanks

Wait! There was a delay until November 2006? I thought that's what was planned the whole time? I didn't expect it any other time.

I still can't find a single Xbox game I have any interest in even trying let alone Xbox 360 with its enormous library.

I'm in no rush for a new console as I have a nice backlog of kick ass games just waiting to be played. The only console that is not released that I am excited about is Revolution, but can live with waiting a long time because I think the Gamecube is one of the best systems of all time.
