Hate to crap on Daphatty's thread but it just reminded me to post this. Anyways I will be traveling to Toronto for the first time on April 3rd and I'm looking for some good suggestions. I will be going to 2 Blue Jay games but I would welcome any restaurant ideas, good stores to shop at, sights to see, basically I would like to do things I can't in the U.S. I have heard that the Hockey Hall of fame is a good sight, as well as the CN tower.

Well, you can't go wrong with the Eaton Centre for shopping. You might be able to catch some Marlies/Rock games for cheap as well.

Definitely go to a sports bar called Hoops. Best food in the entire city, lots of tvs, and tons and tons of insanely hot waitresses. I'm talking Playboy hot. Also, if you want an experience .. go to China town after 2am and order "cold tea".

And I recommend you dont walk down Church Street unless you can identify with the characters of Brokeback Mt.

I never found one good restaurant in Toronto when I was there for a week last year. I don't know if it has changed or not since then, but every last place I went to sucked. Then I heard there are really expensive places that are supposed to be great, like...what, the Dinner Club or something like that?

Anyway, honestly, the best food I found was to go to a small grocery store and buy cold cuts, cheeses, and breads. Absolutely some of the best food I've ever eaten, and completely floors market goods in America. Much cheaper than the egregiously overpriced crap food I found in every place I ate, too.

When I visit my cousins in Toronto we usually go to a place called the Octagon. Very fancy, great food, little pricey though.

You probably won't be able to get tix to a Leafs game, unless you want to spend some major cash.

I think the Molson brewery has tours. That might be interesting.
