Matt says - No, sir! I have not forgotten about how amazing Metroid Prime was, and remains. It is my favorite gaNot really news, but Matt Casamassina says Metroid Primeme of all time, tied with Super Metroid.

I have full confidence in Retro to make Prime 3 one of, if not the must-have game of E3 2006. This will be the game that shows all other companies how to do first-person gameplay with the Revolution controller.

L1nk001 comments - Does this mean it is guaranteed to be there?

Don’t toy with me now.

Matt responds - Well, yeah. And fully playable.

Think you will be able to just use the regular gamecube shell for controls?

If it's a launch window game that would rock. Mario, SSB, a GC Zelda, and Metriod in 2006 would rock.

All signs point to no.

What kind of question is that?

Of course not.

Then Nintendo will have nothing to release for the next 3 years.

Maybe Pikmin 3? Donkey Kong Country 4 (ha, yea right!)

Highly doubtful that Nintendo would throw out all it's big franchises at launch... at most, we'll see one big name game from Nintendo and maybe a smaller property (PilotWings maybe?). I think SSB will be a safe bet for launch seeing as how it's still the best selling GC game.

The launch might be TOO strong. Even with the lower system cost and potentially lower software cost, people cant afford to buy very many games.

An alleged launch of ~20 games is TOO much.

I really want to try out the REV because I just can't see a regular(non-fanboy)person with their arms extended for a "extended" amount of time. Will bringing your arms in lessen the effectiveness of the controls? Playing cube/Xbox/XB360/PS2 I can chillax with the control on my lap. Metriod Prime was ok but the controls were a little wack with the aiming button, hopefully now that is in the past even without the nunchucks

....Did you just use "Chillax" in sentence?

As for the "Chillaxing" that you want to do, they've said that its precise enough for very fine, small movements...which would be fine even resting on your knees.

For some reason everyone is thinking that you need to have your arm extended to play. Nintendo really needs to get the point through that your arm won't get tired because you can rest it on something and it won't effect your aim at all/all that much.

Nintendo seems to view it more as a "launch window" and not like some of the others with a "launch".

Yes, 20 games on the day the system hits shelves is one thing.
20 game within a 3-4 month "launch window" is something else entirely.

I'm gonna build a turret mount for mine.

That said, I tolerated Prime and I'm quite concerned that this latest iteration will be continuing down the "shooter" path we see with hunters and that makes me sad.

no really, people are going to get tired waving their arms around. Nintendo's master plan is to make a system that doesnt actually work and people cant use it.

If it makes it easier to move around, not requiring lock-on in order to shoot things AND it keeps the adventure part... I see absolutely no problems.

As far as MP:H... its a "Killer App" for a system that needed a game with that kind of pick up and playability. It's also on a system that has Metroid Prime as apinball game, so I doubt the Revo title will turn into either one (completely)

You would think of it as common sense, but many people ask the same question that Michaellvortega just asked. Nintendo's trailer is at fault.

I asked because I have been on Nintendo strike for a while since they veered away from what I thought was fun to a niche market. I'm now interested in REV because they(I hope truly) believe online play is wanted by the consumer. That is one of the main reasons Xbox is my MAIN console at the current time. I think Nintendo could do a better job of showing REV, but I'd imagine what has been shown is a taster for the hardcore PreE3 and after E3 they will show REV in a better light to the general public.

Nintendo resently came out and said that they realized they need to release a lot of their top name games within the first 6 months. I think SSB, Mario, Metriod, Pilot Wings will all come out by March 2007.

Do they have enough Dev teams to pull off such a extraordinary task? On gamecube it seemed like a year between great games.
