Ok, bought one and also bought a copy of Red Dead Revolver for $27 from the same guy. However, he takes PayPal on Onimusha 3, but refuses PayPal on RDR? WTF?!

Wow, its like I'm your personal auction finder!

Email him and see what he says...my guess is that this Onimusha auction is new and he just started taking paypal.

Wow this guy has great prices on Riddick and FSW. If I miss out on the Fry's sale then I'll buy from those games from this guy.

With Bidpay, you buy a money order with your credit card as payment through Western Union. Western Union then mails a money order to the seller. The buyer buying the money order pays a $3 fee.

It's nice for sellers since there is no risk of a chargeback but bad for buyers because of the $3 fee and you have to recourse if the seller rips you off.

He doesn't accept paypal, and he takes Bidpay. That and his low prices for recently released games makes me a little suspicious. Samurai Warriors for $29.99? Dang.

Once the funds are approved, Bidpay sends the seller an e-mail letting them know the money order will be mailed and it is ok for the seller to ship the item.

I once recevied a payment through Bidpay and it went like this (I don't say that I accept Bidpay but I accept Money Orders so I guess the buyer figured it was the same which it was):

1. I got e-mail from Bidpay telling me the buyer is paying with Bidpay.

2. 2 or 3 days later I get another e-mail saying the funds are approved, the money order is being sent out and I can ship the items if I want or I can wait for the money order to arrive.

3. A few days later I get the money order in the mail

It seems fishy to me, hes only been on e-bay since May of 2004, some of his positive feedbacks are for auctions that ended on 6/1/04 and people have already recieved the items, nobody ships that fast. the whole bidpay over paypal thing is a little off to.

No protection:

"Western Union Auction Payments is a payment service only and is not responsible for the delivery or quality of goods purchased from another person. If you have a dispute regarding an item you've purchased, please contact the auction site you used to bid on the item. See the terms and conditions that apply to your use of Western Union Auction Payments. "

Ok, I looked through this seller's feedback, and they vacillate from accepting PayPal to only accepting money orders/cashier's check. I emailed them about 12:30 or so this afternoon, still no reply. I'm not paying for Red Dead Revolver until I hear back from this person AND get a reasonable explanation.

Maybe he is getting chargebacks through Paypal for various reasons so that could be why he keeps switching back and forth. If his account is temporarily frozen from a chargeback, the amout on the chargeback can't be taken out of the account so if money gets deposited, he can't withdraw the funds.

I sent some of his former buyers some e-mail to see how their purchases went. It just seems werid to me that he has gotten two new positive feedbacks from buyers of his items since last night, and the one person only had his item shipped yesterday so there is no way they could have recieved the item yet, so why would leave feedback already? He has sold since last night at least 8 copies of FSW, 3 copies of Riddick, and 2 copies of Onimusha 3, so people are buying his games and buying them fast.

I still have not heard from this seller. I might be gearing up for my first negative feedback, since I'm not paying for RDR until I hear from him.

You'd think someone who has so many items on eBay would have the time to check their email.
