Weekly Famitsu has the scoop on Konami's first Nintendo Revolution title, Elebits. Produced by Shingo Mukaitouge (Guitar Freaks & Drum Mania series), the game features the new Elebit creatures. Players will explore the game world, hunting these Pikmin-like characters, which actually serve as an energy source for the movement of the game world. The name Elebit is derived from "electricity" and "bit" (as in "tiny") — 'tiny power-charged creatures.'

Mukaitouge says that Elebits is being designed using three focal concepts:

* The sensation of actually touching the game world (inside of the screen)
* Manipulating objects to find things
* The introduction of the Elebits

With Elebits, Konami looks to be targeting casual gamers. Indeed, the game is said to include some stages that can be completed in less than 10 minutes. As for online multiplayer, Konami has not yet made a commitment, staying focused on the development of the game's single player experience.
Yay for more 3rd party support with BRAND NEW Ventures. I wonder if this will make it in time for the launch, or soon afterwards.

And as someone who has never played Pikmin but heard only good things about it, I am very curious.

Better luck next time.

I'm really hoping they impliment some multiplayer action - sounds like it could be a unique party game.

Maybe a little Chibi-Robo meets Pikmin? A whole family of Chibis?

That would be too cute for a single game to contain. After playing it, I'm pretty sure I would be able to speak to kittens and puppies, and I would see the world as if it were painted in pastels.

Jeux-france has posted Famitsu scans of some art from Elebits

http://www.jeux-france.com/news15495...-illustre.html

The artwork looks like a cross between Pikman and Nightmare before christmas.
