My, my, it seems like only yesterday that the Big N revealed it's crazy new controller to the world, and we were all posting like mad...no, wait, that's not right. It feels like we've known forever. Ugh.

But, the wait is almost over! A week from today, we should know (almost) everything our little brains have been sweatin' over for the past six months or so. From what I hear, Nintendo's planning a bigger press event and conference than anyone has ever seen before. Shit's gunna get crazy.

Unfortunately, I have class until 2:00pm (Pacific time) on Tuesday, so I expect there to be 100 new threads with 1,000 posts each, and I'll be utterly lost. *sigh*

...in any case, this thread is one last big reminiscence before we jump into the future. *pulls up a chair* Who wants to chat?

I hope pre-orders start next week, or the week after E3.

I'm hoping for preorders to start as well. I'll feel much more relieved once I have money down (most likely in full) for a new Wii.

And know what I'll be getting.

That Tuesday's my last day of instruction; I don't have finals until the week after (great for having time to study, bad because my summer doesn't start until the end of the finals schedule).

i cant wait for next tues, I still think they might change the name of the system, but thats just me, I am fine with Wii for the most part but they seem really shady about it. I just want to see some live video of people playing the games. If you live in the NY area the Nintendo World Store is covering E3 with games and contests, so check that out if your live there, but u have to RSVP in advance.

I feel the same way, somewhat. I think the wait will be both easier and harder after next week. Awesome stuff will be shown, secrets will be revealed.. the speculation can die down a bit and fade into genuine excitement for the upcoming titles.

Knowing more about the machine will be great... but at the same time, if the new stuff we find out is awesome (and the hands-on impressions are stellar) then the months will drag on.

Its a fair trade, I'd say

I'm pretty sure they're not going to reveal everything next week, though...it's the Nintendo way.

We're going to have to plug it in after purchase to find out the final secret. *sigh*

I'm guessing they won't reveal the price point unless Sony reveals theirs. I'm guessing if the PS3 launches at $400, then the Wii will be $200. If the PS3 is $500, then it'll probably end up being $250.

Luckily, I'm done with finals already!

They're in the same venue they've used for the past two years. It will be no 'bigger' than those events, just bigger in the products.

It's the Kodak Theater at Hollywood and Highland. Same place they do the Oscars nowadays.

I'm pretty hyped up for it, but starting on Sunday I've got a 7 day workweek laid out ahead of me so it's going to be a blur and I'll have to sort out the details over the weekend.

All I want, god hell ass damnit, is a release date for the Lite and the Rev. That's it.

Nicely said, y'all. It's going to be a great time to be a gamer! The E3 I've looked the most forward to since back in the Ultra 64 days. I'm lucky that my exams ended THIS week. Great timing! Also, as you guys said, hopefully enough of a concrete date is given to where we can start pre-ordering these biatches.

Quick question for you guys, though: which website usually provides the highest quality live streaming video from the conferences and highlights from booths? Last year, I don't remember subscribing to any site so I just went with the free streams that were posted elsewhere...but I'm already an IGN Insider subscriber this year, so do they usually go big with live stuff or would another site be more ideal?

Since we have this nice pretty thread going, can someone help compile a list of websites where we can see some live or recorded video from the event?
I'm not as savvy as some of you folks who are more familiar with the gamings webisites. What websites are providing the best coverage?

The crazy thing is that I'm having knee surgery tomorrow, so I'll be home from work all next week, with nothing to do but play on the internet. I'll have plenty of time to watch all the videos.

They'll be in the actual theater this time though, not in the large room above it.

Subscribing to GameSpot Plus looks like it will get you video and whatnot, but it's 2.95 a month. I'm considering it just for next week if nothing free shows up though.

And methinks I won't be getting much work done here at the office on Tuesday...
