No, quite often these are scams. Reply that you'd be happy to set up a BIN price of X if they'd like. If you sell the item to them outside of an auction you lose the ability to complain to ebay if anything goes wrong.

Do you have a Buy It Now on your auction? Silly question but I always do BIN and I get these types of emails all the time.

Since you lose a lot of protection if you do a transaction outside eBay, I would say no (also kinda sounds like scam if they only want to do it outside of eBay). If they have good feedback and you want to do it, just do what zionoverfire posted if you still can.

I'd say sure , send me a money order and we are set. don't send until its turned into cash in hand, and you have no worries.

I was just going to say that. Definitely do not accept paypal if you're going outside of ebay. M/O, and you should be straight.

Check their feedback and make sure that they're a confirmed Paypal member. If it all checks out, then I'd go ahead.

Make sure it's a Postal money order and not something else if you do decide to do this, as a lot of scams work by using forged Western Union money orders.

Well even if it was a forged one, couldn't you go to the bank and find out? Just try to cash the money order or cashier's check before sending anything.

I've never been scammed this way, but from what I've heard it takes a few weeks for the banks to realize that the funds are fraudulent (not quite sure why), at which point they ask for their money back.

As long as he or she sends payment first. I would do it then.
