Actually, I have witcher 2. Not sure id reccomend it.

The sound is really really awful.

The voice acting, anytime someone speaks with emotion they sound distorted and off.

Its not just me, I lent the game to my brother and he quit 30 min in because of the sound quality.

Cant wait to see what XCOM and Hitman will cost. I want these games so bad......even more since everything is so cheap! Oh god, now I know how the Steam people feel.

That's a pretty nice (and functional) game shelf - do you remember where you bought it?
It was a few years ago at Best Buy. It is the Atlantic 38435617 Oskar 1080 CD, Espresso Media Storage. It was like $90 or something at the time. They don't carry it anymore and even on amazon third party sellers want over $200 for it which of course is ridiculous. It is a nice shelf though.

This is basically the same one but in light wood color and also a good bit more expensive. It seems like it is uncommon to find ones of that size for that cheap currently based on a quick amazon look.

Ok so I went on my Xbox to see if the watcher price had changed(which it did) but it looks like there's two different witchers. Witcher 2 and witcher 2 enhanced edition. Am I seeing that right?

I remember this problem, but it really doesn't ruin the game at all. Honestly one of my favorite adventure rpg's of all time.

While I can appreciate your enthusiasm, can you tell us *why* you feel this way? What made it so good in your opinion?
A lot of people say its a great game which is the only reason I'm considering rebuying it after selling my physical copy. I did play the first hour or so and the combat is truly awful. You essentially pause the game for each attack and there's some really bad menu driven stuff to do certain things. From what I played of it, the gameplay horrible. Supposedly the story is good. Obviously story matters most in an RPG but a WRPG with what amounts to menu driven turn based combat ruins it.

I have TW2: EE for xbox and there are no sound problems at all. Fantastic game btw.

The combat is rough in the beginning but gets better later on. I felt the tutorial battles were not representative of the real combat.

If the witcher 2 is anything like the 1st on pc then it sux, for me anyway, i didnt like the controls at all.

I just got back from gamestop a few hrs ago after trading in my copies of
orange box, forza horizon, nfs the run, wwe 12, hulk hogan main event, midway arcade origins, prototype 2.

Came out to 85.91, i bought 1 1600 points card and got the remaining 65.91 on a gamestop card. Now i'm gonna look into this wwe 13 on the other account thing.

only difference is steam gets deals like these just about every day. every time there is a good sale on games they try to be like "steam sales."

I just wish that on xbox the sales would be more frequent.. If it were up to me i would have the deals of the week work the same way as this "ultimate sale" thing. Have like the 8 or so games be on sale for a whole week while having daily deals with something different each day. That would be lovely.

Combat is hard until you get a hang of it. I too thought it seemed stupid at first but then it just unravels!

Well if it happened every week, I would be horribly broke!

I have a feeling this sale has some kind of motive related to convincing people that digital sales will be good on Xbox One..
If they are dropping the price for digital sales close to release date, then yes, I would say that will be good.

And now you know how the steam people feel :)

Christ....I quit smoking, I don't intend on getting addicted to buying games every week.....maybe.

Pretty much this. People don't seem to give anything a chance these days. It's all complaints about how nothing is difficult, but once something out of the ordinary comes around they complain because it doesn't play perfectly or how it's unfair.

Yes, At the beginning combat seems incredibly clunky and difficult. You have to unlock abilities like Parrying through leveling, which will in turn make the game easier for you. The game is also about preparation. So yes, you will spend quite a bit of time in menus preparing potions and enhancing your weapons with oils before combat. This isn't like 20 minutes of time, it takes more like 1-2 but because the game was originally created for PCs, you can tell that the menu's aren't immediately controller friendly. I wouldn't go so far as to say that they are terrible however. Thats just being dramatic.

I'll be honest, the learning curve isn't welcoming and the beginning can be seem slow but once you're invested it's hard not to come back. If you enjoy player-involved story driven games like Mass Effect or the difficulty and curve of a game like Dark Souls, i'd recommend The Witcher 2. It's very heavy in it's lore but you pick up on the way of things quickly, so don't worry if you haven't played The Witcher 1.

That would be my order as well, although remember that Tiny Tina just came out and isn't on sale yet.

Scarlett - Longest other than Tiny Tina, and pretty funny at times.
Torgue - Not as long as Scarlett, but perhaps even more humorous.
Hammerlock - The shortest by far, very colorless and dull.

Tiny Tina - The best by far, the longest by far, and the most entertaining with some fantastic fan service.

You have to be at least level 15 before playing Scarlett or Torgue, and you have to have completed at least the first playthrough to play Hammerlock or Tiny Tina. Having said this, all DLC scales to your level once you start it.
So as someone who just bought BL2 should I buy some of the cheap dlc now namely Scarlett and Torgue (Tiny Tina later if it goes on sale) because from what I read those are the better dlc. Or should I just hold out to see if the season pass goes on sale? Is the season pass even worth it if there are only 3 good dlcs and 2 are on sale now for half off?

If a game is $5 I may get it, but even with these sales I much prefer a physical disc. I always get my money back or profit by selling it after I beat it. Digital, after I move on to next gen, I have nothing to show for these purchases.

Personally I think these sales are just a quick way to make what money they can on the GoD. I mean…with all of these games I'm buying I have no reason to buy an Xbox One. It's not like these games are transferable to it or anything. Thanks Microsoft for making me buy more games to keep me busy longer! By the time I get done the One will be at a decent price.

Personally, I like Mass Effect but I hate hard games. I enjoy having fun and losing frequently is not fun for me. I would never play Dark Souls even if paid to do so. I play my games on easy for the most part and I don't like spending a lot of time fucking around in menus not playing. I played Tales of Graces F on easy and didn't have to memorize any of those dumb combos. Like I said, I played an hour of this game and it seemed like the combat was horrible and that I would spend the entire time I played it complaining about how horrible and not fun it is. Maybe that would change, I don't know. The game is absolutely beautiful, I'll give it that. Also, I have kids and given that situation I immediately had to turn it off at that camp when you're talking to a naked woman. My wife was pissed off that I was "playing a porn game" in the living room with our five year old there. I have no fucking clue what the game was going to have.

Oh crap, I honestly didn't even know Forza Horizon existed, but after I saw it was on sale I looked it up and some of the reviews are sooooo positive.  Like the best racer this generation type of positive.  Can I get some CAG feedback on this one?  Worth $15?  Or wait for it to get super cheap down the road?

There are pros/cons to both

like with a disc, what if theres even a slight scratch on it which rendered the game unplayable? You'd just have nothing to show for except a busted disc and a case for the busted disc.

But in my opinion, i think that physical copies of games won't exist in the near future. everything is moving towards digital distribution. since it pretty much eliminates used games the developers would make more money.

It's people like you who prefer the disc is the reason why it's still around today. Not saying its a bad thing, options are always good. But things change with the times.

Easily worth $15. It is incredibly fun. The style is more of an arcade racer than the typical Forza game and there is a good amount of content in there too. I picked it up shortly after launch and was surprised by how much fun I had with it.

Ahhh, you Americans, scared of a little boob action ;) Yes the game is an adult game. Would hardly call it porn though. From what you are describing about your gaming habits though, this might not be a game for you. I have never played the Dark Souls games, but I don't imagine The Witcher to be nearly as hard as those. Like I said, it seems hard at first, but then it all comes together.

I also recommend The Witcher 2. Like many have said the combat is challenging at the beginning, but gets better as you level up. The story is very good.

I love racing games, and Forza Horizon may be my favorite racing game I've ever played. I didn't get bored with it like I do with the sim Forza's after playing for an hour, and I love those games to. It's worth $60 to me.

Haha, Yep the Witcher 2 is absolutely an adult themed game. Its the only game I have ever played where after I beat it I immediatly went back and did everything a different way. The combat is hard until you get the perry but if that deters you than maybe simplistic combat is your thing. Fantastic game, can't wait for 3.

Yeah it just didn't seem fun. I think I'll pass on it. When it shows up for $5 or less I'll probably be willing to give it another shot. I've already purchased 5 other games from this sale anyway.

The game is rated M for mature, is it not? It's his fault that situation happened. Not every violent game out there is made for children, And i think it's hilarious what people like and don't like in their games. Extreme gore and violence, drug use, and strong language in games is okay for children, but a little sexual content and the game turns into a porn simulator? The news especially is a culprit with this kind of thinking.

Combat definitely takes a while to get comfortable with, but once you understand the art of evading and how to use your sign powers to your advantage, the game is simply astounding from top to bottom.

My favorite part about your collection? It's in alphabetical order! Sweet!
Oh it has to be, I pretty much know where every game on my shelf is due to that. But there is a downside...LEGO/Beatles Rock Band...It should be under L for Lego, but I put it with the other RB games just because that makes more sense.

Then you have cases with two different games in it. Like Forza 2 and and MUA. I put it where the first game listed on the box art would go, compromise I suppose.

You know what, I have no idea how you could claim letting small children be exposed to sexual content is okay.

Oh shoot, I'm so tempted! I'm not normally a racing game fan, especially not the Forza sim racing style of games, but this looks like the perfect combo of sim and arcade. If I do get it, I hope I don't get bored of it in a few hours like I did with Dirt 2 during the last sale lol.

He never once said it was OK...He is stating the hypocrisy of it all. It is NOT OK for children to see anything adult until they are old enough to process it properly. This includes violence, sexual content, vulgarity, etc etc.

HAHA! My wife didn't quite flip out at a certain sexual scene that happened much later but she did raise an eyebrow like "Really?" Totally understand your situation though. I've come to enjoy the grind of a game like this and Dark Souls. They aren't accomadating for my usual short stints of gaming but when I do get to sit down with them, they are all I need for a night of "fun".

I gave it racing GotY award on my podcast last year and it's probably the most fun I've had with a racing game this gen. You don't even have to be online to get a lot of enjoyment out of it unlike many other racers out there.

You know what, I have no idea how you could claim letting small children be exposed to sexual content is okay.
I grew up in Europe and I was exposed to naked women on commercials on tv all my life. No hardcore stuff of course, but a boob here and there for lotion adds :bouncy: I don't see how that is going to ruin anyone. Completely outlawing it and treating it like some crazy taboo thing sounds like it would have a way worse impact IMO.

Anyways, the games is indeed rated M, so exposing that to your child is entirely on you. But now we are just rambling ;)

I never said that it was okay. What i meant is that not all video game content is made for children and that if your kid sees anything that was inappropriate for him then it's on you for letting that happen. Parent's are more concious when it comes to letting kids watch rated R movies. It needs to be the same way with video games. Games aren't kid's toys anymore.
