Even though I want to wait for Persona 4 Golden to drop further in price and buy the physical version, I think I am going to get it now anyways. I'm pretty much buying it for 16 dollars because I purchased a $20 card for that much and I can't pass that deal.

So Cloudberry Kingdom is as awesome as I thought it would be.  I'm going to have hours of pure jumping joy with this game.  If you're big into platformers, you should really enjoy it.  It looks like the trophies are meted out pretty well to encourage you to check out all the different modes in arcade (there's one trophy for unlocking all the different arcade modes, which are unlocked by getting to a certain level in previous arcade modes).

The leaderboards work really well and load extremely quickly (which is important for a game like this), there are a ton of different ones and your scores get uploaded in just a few minutes.  There's only 157 people on the Escalation mode leaderboard, but I got up to #3 on my first try, so that was pretty sweet.

I haven't played any of those insanely crazy levels yet like in the video, but I've played one Hardcore level that took me 22 tries to complete.

Only complaint so far is the music.  It's really fuck ing awful and feels entirely out of the place in the game.  I think there are only 8 or so songs so I'm starting to hear repeats already (not quite as bad as Sideway, but close).  One of the artists is called Blind Digital.  I don't know how to even describe this music, but he describes his sound as "Electronic music dubstep/dnb/house" on his Twitter page.  Anyways, it sucks and it doesn't belong in this game at all.

You guys are all idiots. Clearly Sony does this on purpose because they're planning on discontinuing the Vita next year.

That being said, I wish I never bought Dokuro. I don't really like it and I wish I could've saved whatever I spent on it.mat least I bought it during one of those spend $x get $x amount back months.

this has me excited for when it eventually goes on sale. Was worried from the initial trailer, but it sounds like the devs just didn't do the best job at showing the more playable-by-humans parts, and it actually does work pretty well. I love platformers with a passion, so when this hits -50% or more I'll be sure to pick it up ^_^

Max Payne 3 is an amazing deal. My favorite game from last year.

I already platinum'd it, and have the Local Justice pack. I'm tempted to pick up the ultimate edition for the rest of the DLC, but the game never had a huge online community to begin with.

Anyone know how difficult it is to find a match on the DLC maps?

Cloudberry Kingdom deserves to bomb due to the poor marketing that makes it seem like it's all about being an insanely difficult platformer, but it's not that in the early part of the game. I recorded a video of the first mode in The Arcade where most of the levels have a couple of obstacles before you reach the exit. There were a few levels that seemed like newbie versions of what you see in the trailers, but they were still manageable once I got things down. You earn lives pretty quickly, so you can squeeze a few extra lives out of those harder levels to get the timing down. The music is terrible like Tyler said, so I turned it off immediately after I was done with the video.

It offers a neat option to save levels, though it would be great if you could send them to friends since you're basically just saving the seed for that level. Even an option to enter in seeds to see other levels would be a cool way to share the crazier levels in the game.

I think I'll do a livestream in a bit to give you an idea of what to expect while you wait for my video tomorrow.

I think "deserves to bomb" is a little harsh, but the comments in this thread alone clearly prove that their marketing strategy was confusing and not effective.

Excited to watch your live stream Frisky.

They've only marketed it as an insanely hard platformer and that's the perception that is being spread across the internet, so they've put the onus on players to undo that and convince people that it's not as hard as they made it out to be. That's a shitty situation to put people in that would like to share a game they enjoy with others.

I'm not saying that I hope it bombs, but that if it bombs, the developers/publisher/PR only have themselves to blame for they way they've shown that game to the public.

it seemed to help out meatboy when it was released. But, that may have been word of mouth that it was crazy hard rather then PR push. To long ago to remember.

can i get some feedback on Vita PJ Monsters?

I've rainbowed the hell out of the PS3 version + DLC, but never bought the PSP version.    I did ALL of my ps3 playing coop with my wife, who -loved- it.   In other words, I basically know what to expect.

I know i'd be getting some new missions, but i'd lose the coop factor.   And the price tag is higher than i'd like.

Worth it?  Or should i wait a year for a sale?  Keep in mind i'm on a serious gaming budget right now due to the upcoming release of the PS4 combined with vita's luftrausers, lone survivor, terraria, spelunky, frozen synapse mega-indy $$$fest.

It doesn't help that PJM doesn't even have a plat, dang it all.  I think that would make it a no-brainer.  But as it is i'm spinning in circles.

It has a whole new island, some new towers and enemies, and they've rebalanced the first two islands so that everything feels like it was made with the new stuff in mind, which made the PSP version feel like a great new game for me. The PSP version was the ultimate version of Monsters and the Vita version now takes its place in that role.

The difference is that people had some idea of what to expect since Super Meat Boy was originally a flash game and the marketing did a better job of showing various parts of the game that gave you a good idea that there was some build up to the crazy parts of that game. Cloudberry Kingdom has pretty much just had trailers of the crazy parts of that game, so they haven't shown that there's a more sane part of that game.

Thanks to everybody that checked out the stream. I think I'll try to do something every Tuesday night for either new games or stuff that is on sale since I tend to have at least some of the stuff that goes on sale. Cloudberry Kingdom will be the featured game this weekend on the livestream show I do every Saturday at 2 PM ET, so there will be more of that to show then.

no splitscreen and seemed very active when i was on last week. i missed both 25% xp days and bonus loot weekend, but they have had both since i got it 2 weeks ago so it seems like they are adding more n more stuff.

i was doing a major arkfall and there were at least 50 or so people attacking the hellbugs, so it isn't dead at all...

we should get a defiance clan for cags cuz otherwise im just joining random clans...

n wow that bioshock clash in the clouds dlc popped outta nowhere

The Tekken Revolution update is live now. It's 630 MB.

The odd thing is that it isn't even mentioned on the playstation store blog post or anywhere on the psn blog for that matter. Why wouldn't Sony advertise the fact that they essentially have a ps3 exclusive? Sony is still such a bizarre company in a lot of ways.

twitter

Namco stating “Yeah bad Namco. Who has Tekken Revolution by the way? Oh wait I DON’T KNOW!”

As someone who hasn't played of the Disgaeas but like turn-based strategy games like XCOM and Final Fantasy Tactics, I see the first one for PS2 is still on sale here, though honestly it looks a little dated. Am I best off:

1)Buying this for $5 on PSN, fuzzy pixels be damned

2)Hunting down the DS remake with more content + seems to be better on a portable according to some (I don't own a PSP or Vita)

3)Jumping into the series straight up with Disgaea 4 or the upcoming sequel D2

bad marketing is right. the video didnt show me enough to pre order it, and the sale is over so i decided to pass on cloudberry.

I am having downloading directly from the ps store on vita. I can purchase on the web store then download from download list. Anyone else?

in my opinion, you can start anywhere. i didn't play disgaea till 2010 or 11 on my psp and it held up well. i've been playing the psp version again on my vita off and still love it.

the game has a lot of depth and might come off complex at first, but it actually isn't. i've spent countless hours just in the item dungeons.

Then you probably don't have the problem, I vaguely recall a CAG saying his vita freezes when operating the PSN store.
My vita freezes when i buy stuff from psn store. So i use ps3 or web, then use download list using the vita. This method works for me. =)

No you were missing key words from your post....

Buying/downloading things directly on the Vita is known to cause issues due to a semi-recent firmware update. Simply use the webstore then push what you want to your Vita.

That's what I have been doing. After some Googling it seems like a common case, but for some reason this firmware bug is only affecting selective units.

Oh okay, sorry, the situation appeared weird to me, and I panicked...didn't word it right....

this is... incorrect. first, steam has a huge infrastructure in place. if you're talking about general storefront infrastructure, it's certainly in line with PSN.
no i am talking about all 50 million ps3 consoles that they have to account for......for one thing, sony needs constant software updating and patching on the PS3 everytime a new game encounters some sort of bug and/or get hacked...

So is Defiance similar to Borderlands 2 except in a MMO form? Have there been patches to fix glitchiness and bugs?
