PlayStation 4 Pre-Order Thread *GREATNESS OUT NOW!*

Anyone else experiencing really slow download times for the PS4 1.5 update.I'm downloading the 400 mb file and its estimating that its gonna take around 3 hours. Usually a file of this size should take me half an hour.

Anyhow, the most frustrating thing is that I'm in between shifts, and only have about 30 minutes until I have to go back to work. So right now I'm just staring at the console, and the 3 games I picked up at Target last night. :(

Mine hasn't even officially shipped from Amazon yet... Ordered on June 10th with prime...

Took me longer than a file that size typically takes (8 min vs 3 min), but not overly long. But that was yesterday.

Given some of the reports out there about system failures...and the fact we've seen some reports of early console delivery from a couple sources (amazon, for instance), today I suspect the Sony servers are getting hammered.

All of my games finally shipped, but the PS4 went to shipping now about an hour and a half ago.

June 11 order, with Prime on an Amazon card.    The only time they've missed release date delivery before was on my Halo 4 LE.  I'm really hoping this won't be the second.

LOL, right!? Unfortunately, I just talked to my supervisor who is a gamer himself, and I happened to drop the news on him to make him a little jealous, but I guess in the process I just killed any chance I have for using a phony excuse to get off of work.

It's still nice that I won't have to wait until midnight (or later) to pick up one of my consoles to play (had backup orders at BB and GS), I can be home about 9:15, and probably unpacked, setup and playing by 10pm or so, so I can suffer for a few more hours.

I actually still have faith it'll be on my doorstep tomorrow. Tracking info has showed up (and the Amazon "it's shipped email has generated) as late as 8 or 9 PM...and it's still made it to my door the next day.

Talk to me at 11 tonight if it still says the same thing.

Or...rather...don't. I'm likely to be in a foul mood.

Thanks for the info. Yeah just gonna leave my computer on to download it. Rather deal with it now rather than later.

Edit: glad my PS4 finally updated to shipping now on Amazon!

So apparently Target doesn't do the early line ups for console releases? I called the store and the floor manager for electronics just said show up at 8:00 AM. All I want is freakin' Lego Marvel...

 
I'm sure its been suggested, but those of you that may live near a UPS distribution center, my UPS guy usually doesn't get here til 6pm so I put in a request to have the item held at "will call" and they confirmed it'll be ready for pickup at 8am tomorrow.

From here, and GAF, and a couple other places...we are not alone.

If amazon fails, they are going to fail EPICALLY....because it seems like a pretty good sized number of folks are all in the same boat.

And if they fail EPICALLY, I would expect some epic compensation.

 
I like how Amazon keeps adding new ways to charge you earlier than right when they ship.

Before they'd charge right when they ship.

Then they'd charge in "Shipping Now" mode, then it goes to Shipped mode.

Now they charge in "Preparing Shipment" mode, so they can send it to "Shipping Now" mode and eventually to "Shipped."

Amazon has been pissing me off lately. Not that it matters, but I think they do it to make buyers less likely to cancel orders since they never know when they will be charged. They can put it in "Preparing Shipment" for days.

Close, but not SUPER close.

I'm in CT. Could be 2 different warehouses (NJ or NH). One is about 4 hours away, one is about 6.

Doesn't need to make it to Windsor (our UPS hub) til around 6 AM, to get loaded on a truck.

And, honestly, if it shows up in Windsor tomorrow, and doesn't make a truck..it'll still be at my house by tomorrow evening. :)

 
My ACIV LE was supposed to arrive today via USPS. USPS came and nothing.

This would be the first time Amazon didn't deliver on time for me.

Unless they come back later.

 
Lol. Everybody's so paranoid. I mean, I get it. But it's still funny. If you ordered a Launch Edition, you'll get it tomorrow.

Just came back from my local BB at North Park, PA.

They apparently will have 3 lines (preorder website, preorder instore, and walk in?), and they will keep the store open until midnight.

Apparently they willl also let us stay inside the store and the line will be formed inside the store, which is a plus.

Nobody was camping outside as of 3pm.

I also asked about freebies and they told me they might have some bags for the people that pre-ordered

Mine still hasn't shipped but its been "shipping now" since this morning. Not really worried but wish it would ship already.

Might head to Gamestop tonight to see the crowds, win some free stuff.

 
I'm glad mine is shipping today and did not ship yesterday. When my amazon.com packages get overnighted, they tend to show up in the morning or early afternoon. 2-day packages usually come with UPS around 6pm.

UPS is not very efficient with there deliveries. I always have multi amazon package deliver by 2 diff ups guys on the same days. sometime it puzzles me as to how amazon or ups would allow this to happen,

 
Mine was USPS, not UPS.

I have a 3 PS4's for pre-order. One for me, one for my sister, and one for a friend. No, I'm not that rich, they are paying me for them.

I was going to keep my Gamestop one, but now I'm thinking about keeping my BB one. Aren't they better for warranties? I'm not sure....

Im in NC and everything I have preordered always ships the afternoon before release day. They did the same thing with Batman, it shipped Thursday afternoon or evening and was here by 2pm the next day. Im not worried, it will be here early afternoon tomorrow. Right when I get home from work as always.

I really doubt amazon will fail. They might be shipping a lot of PS4's but the number of PS4's compared to what they ship normally is minuscule.

Oh, I agee...I don't think they will.

Just pointing out that if they DO, it will be in Epic proportions (which, honestly, makes it less likely they do, IMHO).

Every time someone posts their order has moved to "shipped"...I check my email and then order status.

OCD is not my friend.

 
Had an issue with one of my orders with the wrong expiration date....changed the delivery date but in preparing for shipment stage. Limbo of tomorrow i guess....

 
Anyone order the battlefield launch day bundle with 12 months of ps+? If so, did you get an email with the promo code for the ps+? i wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a card in the box or a email code. I had this shipped to someone, so wanted to make sure.

 
Don't you just love when your PS4 gets tracked in the opposite direction then gets redirected the correct direction. Still looks good for Release Day.

Well, I leave my fellow PS4 "waiters" to their anxiousness.  I'm off to eat dinner (smoked pulled pork!), run some errands, and get my kid to basketball practice.

I shall return to commiserate or celebrate, depending on shipping status, in a few hours!

Hilarious. It's not even that late for next-day shipments to go out. Stop worrying. I've not received shipping emails from Amazon till late at night, and still get whatever it is the next day. :)

I received an email today when it shipped with the PS+ code there is not physical card

 
Of course as soon as I said something about the status of my shipping, it changes to "Shipping Now". Everyone who is having the same problem should just post about it. Amazon is watching ;)
 
Gonna head up to mine in the next 30 minutes probably, not trying to be first or anything. Just don't want to wait in a 200 person line in the freezing cold like I had to for GTA

 
Just got my NFS order updated to 1 day shipping after talking to a representative. When I ordered the game, it said it would arrive on release day initially. A little disappointed in the communication of the item status since it does not say it is out of stock nor did when I initially ordered it. It said it would arrive on release date because of the shipping method I picked. Now they are telling me it is out of stock and the representative I talked to this morning never got back with me on the status. Current status of item now is: "We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date."
