I wouldn't say bound when not a single B&M has any PS4 stuff discounted other than GS having PS+ half off. Amazon could go off in it's own direction but I don't particularly see any motivation for them to do so when I'm sure they're not exactly having a hard time moving anything PS4 related.

 
I haven't played my PS4 all that much this weekend, but I just played Killzone for about an hour and a half and the top and bottom are very hot.  I have it standing vertically.  It didn't power off or give me a red light or anything, but I'm worried it might.  Shit, and here I thought I had a good unit.

The console is going to get pretty warm at times. I wouldn't freak out about it. Besides, the fans aren't super powerful.

I need some more PS4 friends. Send me a friend request. Tag is the same as my CAG name. I have the PS+ games, Battlefield 4, Rivals, and Killzone will be here Wednesday.

The pulsing blue light thing is getting a lot of play, but I think that's got a lot to do with social media and not a high raw fail rate out of the box. My unit is fine, the extras I flipped are all going strong according to their buyers, my friends' units are all fine, my coworkers' units are all fine. About 20 all together, and not a single DOA unit or other issue so far.

Wow, my PS4 just turned off b/c I had two apps open. Hulu Plus and Live with Playstation. Started watching The Wrong Mans and forgot I left the livestream on. Of course my PS4 turned itself off. 

I just turned it back on and everything is good but wth. My tablet can handle multiple apps at once but the PS4 can't. Sony really needs another system update to fix these things.

 
Question:

How do you all feel about having a speaker in the control? I'm not really liking it... but I guess in certain instances it is kind of cool. If I plug a headset into the controller what type of audio will be outputted? Just chat? Or both game sound and chat?

Do the sony branded PS3 wireless headsets work with the PS4?

I found it very odd when my controlling started to play an audio log when I picked it up in Killzone. The audio logs play out of the controller speaker. Was surprised with that.

I forgot about that and the first time I found an audio log in Killzone, it scared the shit out of me.

 
You can turn the speaker off by holding the ps button and selecting devices I think its called there's a volume control for each individual dual shock on that screen

It's kind of neat when you're picking up relics but I'm not a big fan on it in general. At least you can turn it off unlike the Wii (as far as I'm aware). You can set it up to do just chat through a headset (the default) or all game audio in the settings and should work with any 3.5mm headphones.

If you mean the Pulse Elite support for that is coming in a future update.

Just got a PS Vita and want to pick up a few games from this week's sale but I don't want to pull the trigger on PSN+ until BF, to get on the Gamestop deal.

I honestly didn't know there was a speaker in the DS4 until I played Killzone and like someone else mentioned collected an audio log. Also plays a big part in Resogun IIRC.

I don't mind it but I think it must factor into the battery life of the controller, correct? I now know you can adjust the volume through the system settings but I was playing late night and wasn't sure how to adjust it at first and it was bothering the hell out of me.

Elites work using the DS4 mic jack, but not wirelessly.

I gave me 30 day to a friend but you can have the 7 day that came in my copy of Ghosts if you want it. I can't use it since I'm paid up until October 2015. So it's all yours.

If anyone has a BF4 China Rising code they're not using I would greatly appreciate it.  I screwed up and found out there was a Legendary edition after the fact.

Also, any word about any demos coming our way other than NBA Live on Tuesday?  I would really like a 2K14 or Madden demo before taking the plunge.

I'm making a lot more on Craigslist, no fees, and all cash -- no scam buyers and no BS if they get a defective unit. Relatively speaking, selling on eBay at this point is lunacy unless you're super rural and have no local market to sell into.

In fairness if you planned ahead you could have purchased a store subscription via eBay for $15/month (cancel it whenever) and your Final Value Fees would have dropped to just 4% on game consoles.

Skill all the fees that come with Ebay through Craigslist. Not to mention with all this broken console talk it would be a nightmare having to deal with that through eBay. Especially since buyers have 45? days to file claims.

you don't have to accept returns, the manufacturer handles that anyway.

 
Decided to keep my Amazon launch system. Was afraid to hook it up after hearing about the failed systems included a friend of mine but it works great so far. Did not hook it up to the internet yet but I will soon. BF4 runs great on it. I'm thinking to get ACIV next.

The problem is even with that idea the seller wont be protected. Even if you sell NIB item and put no returns accepted, any fault is on the seller. The buyer can dispute they received a defective item (IE: "item not as described") and the seller has no choice but to accept a return. With paypal protection unfortunately there is nothing a seller can do. On top of it, even with a manufacture warranty it's all up to the person you sell it to. They may not want to deal with that or it could be some fraud (IE: they send some of the items back to you only). Also if they are sending it back I guarantee the buyer wont be eating the price of return shipping it would be the seller.

Ebay/Paypal has done a lot to protect the buyer but it completely craps all over the seller. You are better off finding someone locally to purchase the console than deal with the risks.

 
I haven't had any problems with my PS4 I got from Amazon, so hopefully it stays that way. If any CAGs want to add me on PSN, my name is OrganizedChaos11. I would like people to play Ghosts with, but even if you don't have Ghosts, you can add me.

 
Has anyone been able to get a PS3 racing wheel to work on this? I plugged my Logitech Driving Force GT in and could not navigate the home menu. The wheel did turn on. Don't have any racing games yet.
