  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

Looks like it was glitching last night, or they accidentally expired the discount early, because it is now showing on sale again. I have gold, and had checked both on the 360 and the web (logged into my account on both), and there was no discount at the time.

Is it really that bad? (Can't multiquote on mobile, don't want to double post, but this is in response to the throwing money comment).
 
^^^ I played the demo and it was pretty terrible. 

On an unrelated note, is there any word on the Summer of Arcade games?  It seems I usually would have heard something by now.  I remember looking forward to past SoA games for months before they were released but this years the news seems quiet.  Am I just out of the loop?

 
I picked up Saints Row IV the other day and it's been pretty fun so far, although yeah the super powers are definitely getting too much (then again, it happened in 3 as well but far later in the game). I've barely driven at all since I started and haven't come close to death yet. The controls and freeroam are definitely addicting though. It definitely feels a bit like Crackdown (never played 2) and also Assassin's Creed 2 and Prototype, although easier to control than all of those.

Plus, you can have Nolan North voice your character.

 
Dark Souls is really good

I mean i wanted to punt my xbox out the window out of frustration

and the fact that you start off not knowing what anything means or about faith or joining covenants or the whole humanity system makes its the most frustrating game ever!!! but still fun if you dont mind ripping your hair out every now and again

Well see that's subjective as I don't like surprises that are cheap and there's been a ton of that. Now Super Meat Boy, that was challenging but fair.
 
Dark Souls is love/hate

But you can't really bitch about free.

Unless for some reason your paying for Gold just for GWG, then yeah you can since it wouldn't technically be free. But for $2.40 a game? Still worth it IMHO

*2.40 a game considering they released 25 games this year (unless we get another month where they release a bonus game, ala street fighter 4 this month) and your a fool for paying full price for Live aka $60.

Going through the backlog and finished Inversion this weekend. Man, this game played like a poor man's Fracture. That's how bad this game was. It had a horrible story which never made sense. More questions were presented as the game went on, but no answers were really given. The hook did make me laugh at the end. I am a bastard, yes I know. Gameplay was meh and the mechanics(Inverted stuff) wasn't that cool. The powers were poorly implemented too. Cutscenes continually broke the pace of the game imo. Plus the main character always looked like he was on crack lol

I feel like I paid too much at $7.99+tax. I would advise not wasting your time playing this game, even if it became a GwG freebie.

It should since it's an app. Just make sure you've never downloaded it before and the 5 hrs will count towards a punch.

Yeah, pre-briefing starts in 10 mins and then the conference heats up at 9:30. Excited to see what other 360 games they announce!!!

Glad to know I'm not the only one who didn't like Dark Souls. Invincible Tiger is a different game but also had controls I didn't like. It's a shame too because the premise was good.

Far Cry Classic is good (and sort of bad at the same time) but definitely shows its age. Many backgrounds always have that still loading effect that I recall from old PC games. I'd still like to see a new FPS game in the style of Timesplitters. Man I love that game.

The Dead Rising 3 DLC is $10 and, according to XA forums, comes with 500 gamerscore. Buying now.

I'd play everything they showed. Want to buy Assassins Creed and Halo collection. Untouched Halo 2 multiplayer mmmmmmmm
 
As someone who never owned an OG Xbox and came to the 360 late in the generation, I am stoked for that Master Chief collection. Halo 2 multiplayer should be a blast on One. I was assuming they would charge a premium price for the collection, but it's on Best Buy's website right now for $59.99. Hardly a confirmation, but a good sign.

Same here. Still not enough for me to upgrade. And about it being $59.99 they did mention during the presentation that $59.99 would be the retail price.

It's $60, Major confirmed it.

Crazy amount of content for that price. I thought that was the biggest announcement from the show. ntkrnl basically already announced the entire press conference. Would have loved to see some actual gameplay from the Platinum Games new game.

So they did a great job of focusing on games. I'm just confused why they released so much info before E3.

Oh that Dead Rising 3 DLC trailer/name is hilarious.

Oh really? I must've missed that part as I was "working" while watching the conference. Good to know. I've had my Xbone since launch so this will be day 1 for me. Maybe they'll announce some sort of collector's edition between now and then...

Crazy amount of content for that price. I thought that was the biggest announcement from the show. ntkrnl basically already announced the entire press conference. Would have loved to see some actual gameplay from the Platinum Games new game.

So they did a great job of focusing on games. I'm just confused why they released so much info before E3.

Nothing truly outstanding, but they did go the right way to push people to get an Xbone if they haven't already.

Hopefully they will, it's seems to be the better way to up the sales on Xbone.

Oh and another news, EA just annouced a new Battlefield which it seems to not be taking place on a true battlefield and it looks more like Payday, GTA and Battlefield had an orgy. Good thing i've always had a hard time getting into FPS's. Come at me brahs! :D/

Edit: Oh better news, it seems to be a Sony exclusive.

Had a brief glimmer of hope when the Crimson Omen flashed on screen during the montage of logos at the end, but then no follow up.

 
Amazing conference when you don't factor in nktnrls leaks. He defenitely killed all the hype for me lol.

Best MS conference in a long ass time. It was all games, games, games games! Well except the TV episodes being included with the Halo legacy collection lol.

$60 is a fucking bargain for Halo 2 re-mastered along with all the other games. You get all the maps to! Didn't see if Halo 4 included all DLC from Halo 4, but if so? Damn.

I don't expect a new game until holiday 2015 at the earliest, and with Halo 5 slated for then, 2016 looks more likely. But an XB1 port of the first game shouldn't be too tough to do. Or just throw a bone and say a Marcus Fenix / Delta Squad collection is in the works for 2015.

 
A little late to the Dark Souls party but finally found a couple free hours to give er a try and it's not bad.  I've died twice.  First time I was observing the monster below me and he jumped up and swatted me so for the new players...when the game tells you to do something, don't waste time. 

Second I got caught in a melee with about 6 guys and a fire thrower.  Then I beat the bridge guy first time but the dragon blasted me twice and I ran to the camp and my 2 hours was up.  Not sure how I feel about the creature respawn whenever you sit at the bonfire since they didn't provide me with one after a boss battle....

They confirmed it. $60 for 4 games and every map ever released for them (including the dlc) is one hell of a good deal.
