Every gs ive been to in the last couple weeks has fox(no more than the one but one in every store just the same). Samus in most of those as well. Now those two do seem to be hard to find in the big box stores other than toys r us by me, though

Honestly, it's not too hard to believe that these two are OoS. Samus hasn't had a game in a long time... since Metroid Prime Corruption (don't any of you dare mention that abortion from Nintendo/Team Ninja) and I can't imagine Fox being all that popular. If he will be used in future games, maybe they'll just make another one...

well it was target employees that said villager/marth/trainer was discontinued first before nintendo announced it.

 
pit was back in stock again for a few seconds.. saying i can order 2 right now but won't let me add to cart.. it keeps coming back and i keep missing it. 

 
Got my Luigi and CF preorders from BB tonight...and I have one more to add to the "no Pit" chorus. My CS people at the store level have been nothing but wonderful even if BB at the higher levels/warehouses can't get their damn act together. Store manager even went to comb the truck that came in tonight since it's showing that there are 2 Pit en route to the store. They took down my info and the manager apologized a ton. I told them I'd call back after work tomorrow to check in, but it's more likely they'll be in on Thursday's load.

Part of me wonders why I keep (most of) my preorders with BBY, but my local store has been nothing but great to me even when the circumstances are a bit out of their hands. Plus I have a ton of RZ certs and GCU to bring the price down, so the CAG in me thinks of that as well.

 
considering how difficult its been to obtain Wave 2 figures, i just pre-ordered the 7 non-exclusives of Wave 3 on GS for instore pickup, dont feel like chasing these down again

 
I am not sure how wide spread this is, considering its a Walmart deal... but in my area, every Walmart has Kirby on a clearance rack in the front by the other Christmas clearance marked for $9. At the register, it rang up for $6. Checked 4 Walmarts, all had Kirby on clearance and no other amiibos to be found.

I'm going to do the same, the chasing is getting exhausting. I'm happy to have finished up wave 2.

The TRU I go to has everything nice and neat. Target has a limited amount of space for these. I never saw a peg for WFT and V, but did for Marth. When Marth was gone the peg was renamed.

They may discontinue it, but I still see them at WM and some GS. It would be a shock as they are planning a Star Fox game.

I ran into the Nintendo lady at a Target before Christmas. She told me that Nintendo was planning on a second run later in 2015 of the three they stopped making due to demand. That is what she heard. I have yet to see any proof about this. She said that Nintendo did not have any plans to discontinue any more any time soon. She also told me she was at TRU and they had their Lucario pre-order cards in the back which she had the salesperson put out. I got a Lucario pre-order after that conversation by going to TRU. She seemed to know about Amiibos and the shortages expected along with what was supposed to happen. But, she was a salesperson herself.

If they stop making Fox now, then they would probably make some more when the game is released. Heck, they probably plan to slowly discontinue lines after two months as they want to release more characters and don't want to pay for the shelf space to have tons of figures out.

I had an amazing gamestop experience today.

I asked if they had any pit in stock and the manager said no, but rather than end there she checked the system and found nothing, but then said she expected more in later in the day and took my info saying she'd call me if one came in.
I figured "sure, that's nice, but no way is she going to call".

I woke up a few hrs later and saw she had called and left a message that she got them and had one on hold!

I just picked it up and it's in great shape!

Every other GS chuckles when I ask or looks quickly and says nope.

I want to give her a good review so she gets recognition from her boss, anyone know how I can do that?

Anyway, no wave 2.5 figures at best buy, target, tru, gs in my area.

Seems no stores are getting any besides preorders and aren't reaching shelves if they do arrive. So be sure to be polite and ask! It finally paid off for me.

I got lucky at 69th Station's GameStop that a guy was holding one for me. The other worker there didn't even know they had it so when I got there I was like I called an hour ago. The guy I talked was working with another customer and was like "oooooo you were the one that called" and sent the other guy to grab it that he had put it on his desk for me. I was like OMG THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!. Best Buy didn't have my Pit either and was told that tomorrow UPS is coming by so hopefully they have something. Know anyone that is looking for a Luigi I have an extra now lol

 
Finally just pre-ordered Mega Man, Ike and Sonic at Game Stop for in store pickup, since my experiences with them has been far more reliable than anyone else. I'll keep my pre-orders at Best Buy and TRU for now but at least I don't have to depend solely on them. =_=

 
Just got my Villager in from amazon UK (shipped to NJ) .. box was all smashed up, packing material was random pieces of paper, yet the figure and cardboard were in great shape .. with the way the box looked though, I wouldn't be surprised if some of these international orders end up less than desirable

So I was able to snag two Pits from Amazon... I am a prime member and for some reason I was charged shipping on the 2nd one... Both are from Amazon llc I checked, I sent them an email, any ideas?

Amazon has been super buggy w/ Pit, I think due to high traffic. I'd just e-mail support and I'm sure they'll fix it.

There are a few, this one - http://www.gamesradar.com/nintendo-likely-discontinue-less-popular-amiibos/ plus there was another quote prior to the release of Amiibos that while some may be discontinued at some point, that they could be re-released with different poses or costumes.

**Edit** I realize they don't specifically say that the exact ones will be re-released in that article, but it was indeed said prior to the release of Amiibos. I'm not sure anything similar has been said since, but they did mention the card thing for discontinued ones, so it's possible that is their 'backup' - not saying it's a good one, but just interpreting. It's also worth noting that every Amiibo released so far has been with the Smash Bros packaging, so there's not much stopping them from releasing the same figures with new packaging. Obviously the original will hold it's price to some degree, but at this point we're all just guessing. Either way, Nintendo isn't sweating it as their sales are blowing the roof off of any expectations thanks to the hype.

Same man, I just registered for the LSATS and bought all the recommended prep materials and it came to less than that... Hopefully my sealed set holds a good resale value for a while.
 
I bet it's more common than not at this point to have spent so much. Between retailers not coming through and some getting crushed in the mail, you gotta spend the dough for reserves!

I called about cpt falcon and the guy held it for me. It even had a paper hold slip attached which as odd as the website wouldn't allow me to hold it

By my count I've purchased 14 pits (!), 2 lucarios, 5 little macs, 6 diddy kong's, the big 3, 2 WFT, 5 captain Falcons, 1 shulk, 1 meta knight, 1 megaman. I really hope pit becomes worth hundreds i guess...
