:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Picked up Zone of the Enders 1/2, MGS: Ground Zero (need something to play on ps4), Suikoden 2 and Catherine.    Excited about Catherine as I played the demo back when it came out and it intrigued me.   Just never wanted to pay more then like $10 for it.

Trying to decide if I want to buy Tales of Graces/Xilla or not.   Won't have time to play them any time soon.

I'm not even half way through Graces but so far I'm lovin' it. I've played a couple of hours of Xillia and for some reason haven't been compelled to come back to it. Between value, you'll be fine if you buy Graces by itself - ah, screw it...buy 'em both.

Anyone play 'The Legend of Korra'? It's developed by Platinum Games, so I'm thinking it might be pretty good.

From people who have actually played it, it is decent, but you have to check your expectations. I think too many reviewers were expecting retail level of length and presentation and you can't expect that at $15 MSRP as the budget is going to be lower.

That's unfortunate to hear. Wasn't expecting much until I heard Platinum Games developed it. Oh well. Guess I'll just stick to the show.
It's good for a budget title, but it's very obviously a budget title.

Imagine a full release's development cycle. Let's presume they build a solid core in about 3-6 months, and then spend another 12 months adding and polishing content.

This game is basically that core that gets made in the first 3-6 months, without any extra work done at all. Even just looking at the character models make this obvious. Now what Platinum makes in 3-6 months is still arguably better than what others could have done, but in the end it is a passing distraction and not something that will stick with you.

I am looking to get some of the Star Wars Pinball games that play on the Vita. Any recommendations?
All of them. $3.50 for a set of 4 tables is pretty good considering they are selling on Xbox Live for $5 per set. As I said earlier, I'm not really into Star Wars but I bought both add on sets.

I think people were expecting it to be of the quality of Platinum's other games, which had the benefit of higher budgets and not being tied to a TV show license.

Toren is a new game coming to PS4 in two weeks:

Swordtales, an independent game developer based in Brazil and leading independent game publisher Versus Evil have announced the final release date of the developer’s highly anticipated adventure game Toren, which will be released May 12 for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and PC. The game will debut at $9.99, with a 10% discount available for those who pre-order the game on PC. Toren will also be available for pre-order with a music bundle featuring the full original soundtrack composed for the game.

Toren is a gorgeous adventure game that takes place in the confines of a massive tower that contains its own vast ecosystem. Players will explore this lush and dangerous environment, solving intricate puzzles to make progress in a world defined by a unique art style and characterized by symbolic elements of traditional Brazilian Folklore.

In Toren, players take the role of Moonchild, a character born into a colorful but lonely world enclosed inside the tower. Over the course of the game, players will watch as Moonchild grows from an infant to a child to an adolescent, unlocking new powers and unravelling the mysteries of Toren.

In other news, I suspected that Brawl was related to Basement Crawl, which is confirmed with this blurb from the press release about it being free for those unfortunate enough to have purchased the original:

Pricing and Availability
BRAWL is now on sale on PSN for $19.99. Anyone who purchased the original Basement Crawl will be able to download BRAWL free of charge from the PlayStation Store.

Brawl looks good but I never played Basement Brawl. So it was that bad? Is that still on PSN?

Not sure if I'd want to take a chance on the new one.

EDIT: It's Toren that looks good - not Brawl.

Finally went through the list and I honestly don't know most of those RPG titles.  Sames goes with Star Wars (although I already own The Force Unleashed). Which are good?  I seem to recall  people talking about Suikoden II and Dark Forces. But I don't know if it was for good reasons or bad.

That being said, would you guys recommend these games:

Mamorukun Curse!
Raiden IV: Overkill
Strikers 1945
Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll?

Raiden IV: Overkill
If you like shoot'em ups and or shoot'em ups with a bit of bullet hell, these are great. Very short titles game length wise, but very enjoyable. Edit: Mamorukun is single player, but Raiden IV is co-op. Got these both at their original prices of $20 and $10, so I'd definitely pick these up at $8 and $3 if had to do it over again.

Buy the three shmups. Pass on Zill Oil.

Are the Star Wars Battlefront (PSP) and Force Unleashed (PSP) worth it at that price? Loved Battlefront on Ps2 but never played it when I originally had a PSP.

I downloaded Battlefront II to my PSTV (now is working without having to have a PS3 to transfer) and, honestly, it feels so dated now that I didn't play for more than five minutes. Your mileage may vary.

Suikoden II is considered a classic and well worth a buy.

Dark Forces, as with my response above regarding Battlefront II, has to be pretty dated as well.

Urg I wish there was a cheaper way to get Ps plus.   The $10 option only saves me a $1 on the games I tentatively want and I doubt I'd be able to get $50 worth of saving out of a years pass when there's only about two sales a year where the extra discount plus gives matters for me.

Officially would buy these games instantly but they've only ever been on sale once, twice at most:

Sleeping Dogs DE

Watch Dogs

Alien Isolation

Wolfenstein

Plz read this Sony

Then you must buy almost no digital games. PS+ has paid for itself many times over, with the extra discounts on digital games alone, for me. But I do buy a fair amount of games, so that makes sense.

Anyone considering Deception IV the enhanced/expanded version is now confirmed to be coming west in July.

I rarely buy digital games, but I think that PS+ is worth it simply for the free games each month.

I remember that I once swore that I'd never buy digital games because, as a collector, I thought I would never want to own a games that didn't come with a case/box/manual. Then, I joined PS+ and did a complete 180. Free games + discounts, and now I rarely buy physical copies. And at last count, I have over 160 PS3 games on my 500 gb system with several more Vita and PS4 games. So I can't see a better console subscription deal out there.

Yeah, I went from old school giant PC box lover who hated when they started going to small uniform boxes and DVD style cases to now buying 80-90% of my stuff digital.  Convenience + prices are basically making the choice for me.

Yeah, I buy digital sometimes but it's not usually my first choice. I prefer to have a physical copy if at all possible unless it's digital only or the digital version is more practical in terms of cost. Why spend $30 + shipping and tax for a physical copy when the digital version is only $5 flat.

Plus the type of games I usually like to play don't go on sale very often anyhow. Normally during the Golden week sale and Christmas if I'm lucky and that's about it outside of the occasional flash sales which don't give an extra discount for being a ps plus memeber anyhow.

But now you don't have enough boxes to build that pet dog your family wants.

Someone earlier said something about buying a psn card and getting 10% off a second one. I guess I missed something, what sorcery is this?

I assume they're referring to Target's B1G1 10% off sale for gaming cards this week.

OMG. Bought Sorcery Saga because it sounded like an interesting "cute" anime take on a rogue-like. Wanted to blow my brains out with how incredibly long the conversations, about curry no less, go on for. Thank God they're skippable or I wouldn't be here to write this.

well that sounds forboding :( but eh for how cheap it was I think I can suffer through it. It certainly can't be any worse than the crap that was 999 or neptunia 3 with their long ass walls of text about nothing.
