Was the cupcake any good?

People could and probably should do those elsewhere like the Steam Code Drop Thread in the Contests and Free Stuff Board. And if they absolutely must do it here then it'd be nice if people PM'ed their thank yous or posted feedback on the giver's page or whatever.

It's not like we need 20 "thanks" posts which is of no interest to anyone but the giver and receiver.

But nobody listens or cares and people are bored from lackluster sales and owning too much crap already I guess.

Started playing LA Noire last night...it's worth a try if you  haven't played it if only because it's so unique, there's really nothing else like it on the market. Between the dialogue, music, atmosphere, etc, it does a really good job of establishing a pretty cool period piece, too. This also reminds me that I think Rockstar's most compelling games are typically anything that isn't GTA.

I feel like that review is basically TL;DR 'ZOMG itz soooo dark awsum!!111'

It's basically some dude having an orgasm over getting a EuroGrittyGrimDark Sandbox.

Witcher 3 reviews I'm reading now admitted faults in Witcher 2 which absolutely none of them did at the time. That game got just as much love as Witcher 3 now gets and I didn't understand it for 2. Won't fool me again.

Why would people post them in the deals thread, instead of the Off topic thread here?

We still do not know how W3 PC version turned-out performance-wise + technically.

Only published reviews so far been for the PS4.

EDIT 2:

Yes, I also like VanOrd's reviews for his frank-ness and blunt-ness. Ever since he slapped Ubisoft for AC2 PC for its awful always-online DRM (at that time, which later got lessered quite a bit) - yeah, definitely took notice of him.

Sometimes it's easier to notice a game's faults + problems with 20/20 hindsight.

I still think W2's biggest problem was its 3rd Chapter felt so rushed, incomplete + cliffhanger-filled to me, back when I played it (before Enhanced Edition).

So played Galactic Arms Race and May's Mysteries: The Secret of Dragonsville recently

GAR: Seen worse, seen better. It is clicking and trying not to be hit by bullets in a small(ish) map. The idea sounds great, but as a shooter it's pretty boring (you have upgrades and stuff but after the 15 or whatever minutes I didn't care that much). They should have taken the idea of an Arms race, with the collection of the element, I forget the name of, that powers up the weapon, and made it a 4X game imo. Would have been fairly interesting, instead of a game I can mostly say, "well, it's isn't shit at least."

May's Mysteries: I kind of like this one, suppose it'd be considered in the realm of Big Fish Games type games, but it isn't bad the little bit I played of it. Basic story but enough to keep you going through solving a bunch of different types of puzzles. Sadly hidden object was one of the puzzle types included (I hate hidden object puzzles, mostly as I suck at them). But I could see it being a fun distracting every now and then when want to exercise teh brainz.

Also "played" Rooms, which was basically flash getting pissy about a script in it slowing my computer, so me leaving it idling til cards finished.

But, that's just for the 900 series!

And it also does not mention framerate (i.e. 30 FPS or 60 FPS).

I also see no mention of the 600 series (game wants a 660 minimum) & 700 series.

you guys are forgotten by nvidia. you do not exist in their eyes

I kind of agree with faceless. Some of those certified to run on AMD/Nvidia games are shenanigans as they may run well on the one with the label they have slapped on and like ass even on a high end of the other brand.

90% of games runs like crap on amd, because nvidia has the money to sponsored the developers. unlike poor amd, who at this point is basically staying afloat.

This is why I don't care about new releases like these other fake ass CAGs. Real life has better resolution than 4k, anyway.

Then again, the only other way some of you could render a woman is unconscious, so I can see the dilemma if you're fat and ugly like the Tomb Raider thread people.

Once in a while AMD gets a high profile game too.

I've seen cases on both sides. Most times the developers feign ignorance that their game runs like shit on half the gaming PCs (we won't even talk about those Intel HD laptop assholes because they just need to GTFO) and then eventually do patch their shit once the pitchforks come out. But conveniently that's after all the reviews have gone out with benchmarks that makes the opposing video card company look like shit.

recent example project cars

only games with amd mantle approved. LOL

amd just overall sucks when it comes to driver updates.

they are just assuming if you haven't upgraded by now why the fuck are you even gaming on a pc

and i agree with them

fake ass pc gamers
I don't need to spend 200-300 (well more like 1000+ since I'm using a laptop so have build from scratch) to play the 200+ old games I have backlogged.

Besides, by the time I upgrade, all the games needing the fancy new shit will be $5 or in a HB anyways =p.

i wasn't really referring to most pc gamers, just those that only want to play new console games on their pc's that have 5 cd rom drives

So, I just played Woolfe.  Beat it in under 3 hours.

The combat wasn't all that tight, a couple of the 'boss fights' were annoying (they teleported the main character to where they wanted her to be after mini-cut-scenes instead of where I actually was - which led to a few cheap deaths).

Most annoyingly, though, was the voice-over of the main character.  She kept sliding in and out of rhyming verse (or just did stupid things like attempting to pass off 'hood' and 'food' as a rhyme - even though she pronounced both words normally).  I wish they would have just went one way or another with it because it was more than a little jarring.   When she didn't rhyme - which was often - I found myself thinking of the verse they could have used and shaking my head.

Still, for all it's flaws, I actually kind of liked it and would play a sequel.  Glad I didn't pay full price for it, but don't regret getting the last Be Mine almost entirely for it.

Completed Airport Firefighters - The Simulation.

I got to drive too.

I'm still not fluent in chinese, but I think it means Driver's test passed.

Don't know why they chose to name it that way, might as well been 'Escape From Burning Airport'.

thanks for your feedback. Look like it was a right judgement call for not pre-ordering. That bundle was the worst I have seen in recent months considering it was a flagship bundle. Even the selling point aka Wolfie wasn't even that good of a game. I think I will wait until it get bundled in the tier 1 Humble or "happy hour" it during IG bundle sale.

there's tons of good platforming games lately from the indie crowd anyway for much cheaper price and longer replaybility

I got to idle Wolfe and sell off my cards before you dorks crashed the market, making back nearly twice what I paid, so I already won the game.

Converting 2500 Blue Coins into 4.50 GabenFunbux = :D/ :whee: :D/

Well they lowered the bar so far down for all their other bundles that anything with a game the hasn't been bundled all to hell and isn't flash or RPG Maker is still better by comparison.

If they only need to top their other bundles for Be Mine they don't have to work very hard to do that anymore.
