**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Amazon 

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon. 

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Although Chico & Rita is a very good film. I like most of the GKIDS stuff.

The sides are nice, but the front covers suck thanks to that idiotic blue border around it.

Though I will admit that I will never achieve that look since 2 of my Ghibli movies are in different packaging...

How much I'm truly supporting the industry is still a fair question to ask, but when you truly start buying anime at the holiday sales of 2013 then there isn't too much you can do for many older titles.

Speaking of shawnek, where did they go? A few items from them I was watching from my Amazon cart are no longer available.

I try not to think about how much I have supported RS over the past 5 years. Even if they are a few dollars more I will buy through them rather than Amazon, even thought Amazon has made it hard lately to ignore their prices.

I am just not a fan of streaming services yet just due to the inconsistency of my watching habits. Having on DVD/Bluray suits how I watch.

I Agree, but many people do enjoy collecting them.

Also, if i can remember correctly you can order disney (ghibli) slipcovers from rhe manufacturer for a couple bucks. Unless they stopped doing it
 
This Yen Press sale is at a crappy time. I had wanted to get all of Soul Eater on the next one, but I can't really afford that right now.

I need to start that. I've got all six sitting here, but I've just not gotten around to giving it a go yet. I'm thinking my only purchase on the next Viz sale will be Deadman Wonderland. The anime left me intrigued enough to want more.

Well looks like crap. Sorry, but all these new sites are being designed to be tablet and smart phone friendly. There was nothing wrong with the old site but yet again like so many others they decide to go and mess it up.

You can't even see the new/changed items anymore. This is going to be a pain for the holiday sale because that is how we were able to easily track and report what was on sale. I'm done with them.

 
I just wish it wasn't running slower than death. I may, indeed, buy all of Soul Eater, but only if that process doesn't take a damn hour lol.

The site just launched. Give them some time to finish updating it and working out all the bugs,before ripping the hell out of it :lol:.

I highly doubt it. Just being honest and pointing out the flaws. :( I'm not the only one that isn't happy with the site. Again, all these new sites use that stupid UI that is designed to cross platform and mobile friendly. Pretty sure, they are probably using this and or something like it.

I just wish websites could have a competent desktop and mobile version. It is annoying when they try to have one that does everything. That said, I'm not necessarily getting that vibe from the new Rightstuf site. It does seem a bit opaque to me at the moment, but I think there is also added functionality, so I'll hold off judgment until it actually works... lol

I had a decent list of things that I noticed after messing with the site for a bit, but neoz and q3 covered most of them already.  I'll add

  • Searches are currently problematic
    "Evangelion blu" produces no results.  You have to type "Evangelion" and then select blu rays from the sidebar
  • "Eva" however produces several suggested things that are unrelated; like "Eve" or "OVA"
  • It appears as though some have format in their names and others don't.  "Soul dvd" produces Soultaker, but not Soul Eater

[*]It looks like they've only transferred the closed orders over.  It says that they're still working on it though, so I suspect that the open orders will soon follow
[*]Order History requires you to change a date range to actually see anything.  Hopefully this will be changed and all of our "open" orders will be readily available without having to search for them every time
I dug a little deeper and changed this last paragraph.  It looks like the membership discount is handled at the price level.  I was confused by this because it listed Fairy Tail Part 16 as $32.99.  The thing is, that price used to be the price for everyone, but now it's listed as the "member price."  Hopefully this doesn't mean that the only way to get the old preorder prices is to be a member.

I guess they really did change things up.

The member price is similar to Amazon's Prime Member only pricing it sounds like. Nooooo....:(

Have to agree, currently the searching on the website doesn't work very well. Not that the previous website had anything much better.

Also, a note for the yen press sale...If you want a paticular cover for books you are ordering make sure to include it in the notes for the order. They may send different covers from what they advertise on the website. For example, they show the "Japanese" style covers on Spice and Wolf but they only currently have the "American" style covers. They were extremely quick about letting me know though, no problems there.

I may not have OCD over slips, but having different covers in a book set? :speaktothehand:

GRRAAAAHHH!!! I had like 100 things on that list. I was using it as a wishlist. I would have copied it to a notepad if I knew they were gonna do this.

Also I can't sign in. I tried the "forgot password" as instructed but it says they don't have an account under my email.

 
Man this sucks that RS is now pre-auth cards now. Amazon doesn't even do that. I guess I truly am done with them since this started.

Maybe if they see a drop off of customers they might stop that.

Um, what's wrong with pre-auth? You don't pump gas either? It's not charging, just authorizing.

Whaaaaaat!?!?!? They seriously do that now? Yea, looks like no more preordering for me. I dont like to deal with sites like that because their system has a higher chance of messing up (Best Buy pre-authed me 27 times for one order lel). I guess its for the better, more money for figures :)

Well in a sense they are charging, it is just temporary. It can be an issue for people that use debit cards or small/near maxed out credit cards. I just think its dumb because it still has to run another auth when it attempts to bill you. I dont like it because there is always a chance for pre-auth charge errors.


Man, did they even bother to run a SWOT analysis on the new site changes?

I was trying to order Tokyo Ghoul CE and LE. Dang RS...why you have to go and change to much.

 
Are release dates also being wonky on Rightstuf or did Jojo season 1 really get delayed to 9/30/15? Can't find the release date on Amazon anymore either.
