Crap. My time machine and my uh.. travelling to New Zealand machine are both in the shop.
When you get that time machine fixed, can you go back to 2001 (I'll provide the exact time and location via PM) and stop me from going home with this one girl? She was "hygienically challenged" and I'd really appreciate it. K thanks

I'm happy to help you, but only if she lived in New Zealand. On the other hand, it seems likely that this may have been a lesson you were destined to learn. Think of the similar incidents you avoided since then, that you might otherwise have engaged in.

Who are we kidding. We both know there were other incidents and that even though you knew better you still went there. Chances are your old self in 2001 is not going to listen to me anyway.

2001 me was pretty hostile so he might assume you're just cock-blocking and try to fight ya. Better to just let it be and continue with my reoccurring nightmares from that incident.

OT:

Is the Borderlands Pre-sequel Season Pass worth $10... even if I won't play it?

Since I regretfully passed on the WatchDogs $6 deal a while back.. can someone talk me into/out of buying it and the season pass from Nuuvem?  I've almost bought it 6 times since yesterday.

Don't just put that out in the open. Do you want MysterD to just go on and on and on and on about it?

Anyway, I enjoyed it and peer pressure dictates that you should too.

All right.. If I did buy Watch_Dogs - do I need any 'unofficial' patches/mods at this point to not have a gimped game? I remember the kerfuffle when it launched and stopped paying attention. I don't mind doing the work for it, but I am finding a lot of old articles/posts on the dumbed-down PC release and I don't know if they're even relevant anymore of if Ubi stepped-up and fixed their broken shit themselves..

Speaking of which - has anyone heard anything more about WB giving Arkham Knight PC purchasers any sort of compensation other than initial unconfirmed rumors about a free game or season pass?

$29.99 RB = $9.41 US.

Still not as cheap as when BB had it for $6.

Also, Season Pass has been cheaper on Nuuvem.

Not much, mind you, according to ITAD - $3.77 (now) vs. $3.52 (past):

Watch Dogs is a blast of a game and tons of fun w/ its mixture of GTA-elements (vehicles, cars, 3rd person action/shooting, open-world stuff) and stealth elements (all the hacking stuff is a blast). If you're all about gameplay over story - by all means, this game is for you. If you can buy the base-game cheap - it's loaded w/ awesome gameplay, so you won't be disappointed w/ this stuff. It's worth the money if you can buy it cheap, for the gameplay alone.

But....story-wise, plot-wise & character-wise - this game's "meh." Extremely disappointing here. Every interesting element this game aims for either becomes predictable, cliche, or a missed opportunity. Aiden is one of UbiSoft's most unlikeable characters since Connor in AC3 - both characters that b/c of their background & b/c the amount of cinematics + cut-scenes given to them, should be awesome...but just are sorely underdeveloped, predictable, cliche, generic, dull, and boring. The two best characters in the game don't get enough game-time + character development here, as far as I'm concerned in the base-game.

Can't speak on the Season Pass - b/c unfortunately, I don't have it.

Also, on my PC (i7 950 @ 3.02 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, Win 7-64-bit) - I had to set some of the stuff on Low + Medium on my old rig, back when I ran it w/ my older vid-card (1 GB VRAM 560 Ti) at 1080p a while back. I tested it out yesterday, for the hell of it - with my 4GB GeForce 960, I can run it at Ultra all the way at 1080p no problem at around 40-50 frames per second, eating away at around 3000-3500 MB of VRAM consistently at those settings.

I bought Watchdogs back in the day and enjoyed it.  Did you enjoy the Assassins Creed and/or Far Cry games?  It's the standard Uplay model: open world with a map opened up via unlocking tower points.  Bunches of sidebar stuff to do that doesn't affect the main plot such as collectables, intercepting convoys, playing games, etc.  The plot isn't great shakes and has its share of "WTF?" moments that make little rational sense but the game play was fun, the overall concept of a 100% wired city was pretty well done and I enjoyed the fact that they at least tried to emulate a real existing city rather than making up "Iron Harbor" or some shit.

It's similar to but not really a GTA or Saints Row clone.  For instance there's a karma system that discourages mass mayhem or indiscriminate killing of civilians or police.  And you can steal cars but you don't customize them or amass a garage full or anything.

I paid $3.26 for the Watch Dogs Season Pass back when Nuuvem had a coupon.  Would've been less if it weren't for the paypal conversion fee. Damn you SSPssp!

There's a mod out there to unlock some graphic effects that were included in the PC version but locked out because they were unfinished or Uplay otherwise thought they weren't yet optimized. Some people say the mod makes it work better, some had troubles. I tried it and disabled it after I started locking up in complex shadows such as the sun streaming through a row of fire escapes.

How much was the conversion fee?
$3. Spoder got seriously taken by Paypal!

Oh, and a usually unspoken great point of Watchdogs is the goofy brain-jacking virtual world "Digital Trip" minigame where you get to play a giant mechanical spider and ransack the city. You can scamper up and down buildings, leap from block to block... really, it could have been its own game. When you find the dude offering the game, give it a whirl.

Speaking of Watch Dogs, anybody have thoughts on the new TV show : Mr. Robot?  I had high hopes for it until (while watching the first episode) I saw Christian Slater.  While he has had some decent past movies I cannot recall any TV shows that he has been involved with doing well.

Yep. Surprisingly, Mr. Robot is really good. Never saw this one coming, but I decided to give it a shot.

Glad I did. Certainly one of the better new shows of 2015. I hope it keeps up like this, like it's been.

So far, Mr. Robot has been excellent. Best new show in a long time. Well worth your time. Christian Slater is in it, but his role is fairly small. Regardless, he's not bad in this.

I rarely almost never watch actual television (I stream/rent everything since I hate commercials with a passion) but I'll add Mr. Robot to my list of things to watch.  But I'm warning you - You guys better look out if I don't like it when I finally watch it a year or two from now!

Do you have a DVR box?

If yes - record it on USA (Wednesday at 10pm EST) + just speed-skip through the commercials when you decide to watch it.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition - Siege of Dragonspear (expansion pack) announced.
This does require BG1: Enhanced Edition to play.
This game take place b/t the events of BG1: EE + BG2: EE.

Offers over 25 hours of gameplay.
Meh, I'll believe this is any good when I see it. Beamdog struggled with the enhanced editions, both BG1 and 2 released with a ton of bugs (haven't read much about Icewind Dale ee), and the added content got mixed reviews from people. Personally i thought the additional content was fine, but I have my doubts about whether they're capable of making a 25 hr expansion pack that rivals any of the original bg content.

Entirely too much info that nobody would care about besides MysterD:
We don't pay for HD since the absolute only reason we're even subscribed to cable at all is because my gf is obsessed with old movies and watches Turner Classic movies a lot.

We do have a computer with media center set up which she uses for DVR purposes - this is fine for old turner non-hd movies, but crap for everything else and I'd rather just wait a bit and binge-watch shows in HD.

BeamDog Guy #1: "Not enough people bought BG1 EE, as far as I'm concerned. We need to do something."

BeamDog Guy #2: "Let's create a big expansion that requires BG1: EE!"

BeamDog Guy #3: "That'll get those who didn't buy BG1: EE bc/ they already own BG1 regular and mod thatl!"

Consumers who own BG1 only: "Well, we ignored BG1: EE b/c it was expensive. This expansion, if it's actually any good, might force me to buy BG1: EE to get the expansion. Damn it, Beamdog!"

Toasters: "Is it cheap enough and/or in a bundle yet?"

It's just a thought.

I don't have a DVR box myself.

Can anyone who's been closely watching the Nuuvem sale tell me if Not A Hero has been a "deal" yet?

I could probably look back through the pages, but fuck that noise.

I bought the Watch Dogs Season Pass on G2A but only because it was like a dollar and change, I didn't buy the insurance and I didn't really give a crap if it didn't work.

But it did so [ycs]Sad Panda is right they are 2legit2quit[/ycs].
