:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

I picked up Korra on Steam when it was on sale for $3.75. As an avid Avatar fan, I don't regret the purchase, but I can see why this got a lot of hate. The difficulty is too hard for this type of game (even adults will have trouble with some of these boss fights), it takes too long to get your abilities, and all your favorite characters are missing. On the plus side, the art is good, they use the same voice actors from the series, and the combat, while difficult at least early on, is enjoyable.
Is it worth 6$

Is it worth 6$
Yes only if you really love Korra. I've only made it to chapter 3 so far. The boss at the end of chapter 3 is unfairly brutal. From what I've read, the game is most difficult early on since they are too slow to give you abilities. You don't even get your first bending ability until the end of chapter 2 or early chapter 3, lol.

$6 can get you a lot of game in these sales. You can get better games than this. But they don't have Korra :p

Ok thanks I may pass on it again do you have Natural Doctrine

I had absolutely no trouble with Korra. If you liked MGR or DmC you should like Korra no problem. The first stuff I bought was the "half dealt damage, double cash" bracelet and played with that all game. It wasn't hard at all.

It's not exactly flush with content but it's a very fine action game.

Do the MLB games ever go on sale digitally? I traded mine in during The Great GameStop Trade-In Carnival of 2015, and while it was worth the value, I'm itching to play again.

No but its on sale for 20 this week @ target and 10% off cartwheel coupon so would be 18 at Target this week if you really want it badly

Is Natural Doctrine and the legend of Korra worth the price at 24$ and 6$ I was thinking about buying them
Natural Doctrine is absolutely hated by 90% of people, and absolutely loved by 10% of people.

I am of the 10%... I love the game. It's a unique SRPG with a unique, complex combat system. It has solid AI that will absolutely wreck you if you don't understand how to play, which means many people think it's too hard, or unfair... when in fact, it's neither, as long as you learn how to play right.

In short, there is a chaining/linking system -- if one of your units does something in a turn that another unit can also do, they can 'link' and combo, meaning the second unit can also move -- even if they moved before. This means planning out your turns carefully -- there are positional advantages, terrain advantages, height advantages...

Many people misuse the chain/link system due to misunderstanding it -- they link everyone right away, basically getting 'one turn'. What you should do is move Unit 1. Now move Unit 2, link move Unit 1. Now move unit 3, link move Unit 2 and 1 (etc... at this point, your Unit 1 has had 3 turns during a single turn!). A lot of people don't 'get' this.

Graphic are serviceable. Plot is serviceable, not thrilling but not eye rolling bad either.

MP is really good, if you can find a game.

The game is definitely not for everyone, but if you want a challenging, unique, different srpg then it's certainly worth a shot because you might love it like some of us do.

plays fine for me, but i am not in late game. They are actively working on patching it, so I'm not particularly concerned... the game is fantastic and very well received. it's very much worth picking up imo.

weird. I cut and pasted a slidecage post and it messed up the byline... EDIT -- oh, it worked. showed up wrong in the editor....

anyway...

the game is 3 way cross buy according to the devs on twitter. it's just a matter of when the vita version releases.
blew my last 5 bucks on it...hopefully a vita does come out but they said vitas been coming out since last oct and not a peep since

love to see a game like

Legasista be ported to vita

Thanks is it worth the 24$ price

Grabbed Beyond Good & Evil HD, always wanted to play that game.

Seriously considering picking these up last minute:

GRIMgRiMoiRe (The story looks like something I'd really enjoy, not sure what to make of the gameplay, although I am a huge RTS fan the side-scrolling RTS thing is... odd.)

Ridge Racer Unbounded (I don't have any racing games on my PS3 so I feel like it'd be a nice change of pace every now and then.)

Pier Solar (Cross Buy makes this intriguing, love classic JRPGs but it seems a little short for your standard JRPG.)

Strider 2

Legend of Korra (Loved Avatar:TLA but never seen LOK and I love beat em up style games like DmC so it seems like something I'd enjoy.)

I loved The Last Airbender but never got around to watching LoK (I will eventually I'm sure, I don't watch shows nearly as much as I used to.) Will the game be ripe with spoilers or is it a side-story? I'm definitely considering it (especially with the comparisons to MGR and DmC.)

I hope we get another (And better) $1 flash sale soon. I got $4.50 and I can't add less than $5 to get DuckTales Remastered or Pier Solar.

The game is set between seasons 2 and 3 of Korra. If I recall correctly, there were a few references from the first two seasons. They didn't go into detail with these references, but some enemies in the game are based on the first season along with a probending mini-game.

I'm alot up in the air on EGttR I thought it was a zombie game it looks good

I've read the PSP Cladun games are similar to legasista, and both are on sale right now.... I bought both.

Thanks is it worth the 24$ price
not knowing your gaming budget, i have no idea. I paid $40 for it day 1 and loved it. it's worth $24 to me, but that doesn't mean i'd tell everyone to go buy it at $24.

Does it have MP Story
What?

are you asking if the MP has a plot? um... no? The mp is cool though -- you earn (in game) cards for every unit in the game -- enemies, humans, even bosses. Each card has a different value, and in mp you build a 'deck' (basically, your party) to play against your opponent. So you might field a team of 2 warriors, 2 archers, 1 healer... or a team of 5 skeleton mages... or a boss level monster plus a weak mage.... whatever you want, really, based on the point cap for the match and whatever cards you have.

game play wise it works just like the main game, but since you have total control of your units and can have many (many!) units not available during the storyline it plays quite differently. and since you're playing other skilled humans, you see really cool tactics you might never have thought of [or conversely, destroy an enemy with a tactic they're unprepared for].

I have GrimGrimoire on PS2 but never got past the tutorial exactly because the 2D sideways RTS thing was just too weird for me. It could be one of those things where it just takes time to get used to. It took a long time before I got used to using a controller to play shooters but I just couldn't be bothered to invest any time to "get" a one-off like GG, despite the lovely art.

Thanks for the feedback!

Decided to bite on GrimGrimoire but I think I'll hold out on the rest for the flash sale (assuming there is one) this month or a dang Konami sale so I can get Peacewalker already. (Only MGS game I don't have and I'm obviously picking up TPP.)

I waited too long to preorder Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and now the price is back up to $19.99. But I think I need to wait to read a review before buying anyway. It looks great but I'm not completely sure it's my kind of game since I still don't know exactly what the hell it is. Way to sell a game, Sony, with obscure trailers that show absolutely no gameplay. I'm going to spend the rest of my Sony wallet on Summer Sale games.

Its just an exploration game. Really not a lot of game play to show. You just walk around, find things and enjoy the story as it unfolds.

Sounds like you ignored my post of the PlayStation Underground where they played with one of the developers and talked about what it was.

No, I watched the video on your post and it was like a Seinfeld episode - it was about nothing. Whether it's $16 or $20, I need more clarification. That's why I'm going to wait for a more detailed review. But thanks for posting it anyway.

Again, it has great graphics. I'll give them that. But I have a feeling that they should have called it "Everybody's Going to Ask for a Refund."

Its getting great reviews lol.

Except that's the game. You explore the town to find bits of story to help you understand what happened and how it affected the people. If you think that's nothing, then it's probably not for you.

I believe a bunch of reviews were put out yesterday that were pretty positive.

Picked up:

ClaDun x2 - $3

Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero? - $2

Strider 2 - $2.40

Passed on:

ClaDun - The sequel is supposed to improve and expand on everything from the original, so just get the sequel.

Prinny 2 - Apparently the voice acting is terrible, level design is bad, and the overall feel is better in the original. I do like the added combat options in 2. Maybe after I finish 1 I'll pick this up in a future sale.

Beach Buggy Racing - The screen tilts with your car... :puke:

Any free time you would normally spend gaming should go to watching Korra ^^

If you decide to pick up the game now, I would hold off playing until you've seen the series. My favorite part of the game is playing as Korra, and I wouldn't get that feeling if I weren't familiar with the character and setting.

So did we come to a conclusion on what to buy between Cladun and Cladun X2 or both?
I ended up getting Cladun one, because I am impatient and only saw that on the Vita store.

From reviews, it sounds like X2 is the way to go. Apparently it improves on the first in every way, except that it drops multiplayer. I like the first so far. Movement takes a little getting used to. Your character almost seems to have weight to them. I considered getting both, but I am happy enough with the first to just play through it, so I guess if you really want to save a dollar or so, you can't really go wrong.

Played some Prinny 1 last night.  For a platformer, it's pretty excellent.  Especially replaying the tutorial levels to find everything hidden.  Good stuff.  The choice to play on easy (3 hits before death) or hard (1 hit death) is pretty nice.  Playing on hard (which is what I opted for) gave a nice challenge.  I like how you have to use all the various moves in the game creatively to get everything in a level.  Also the animations are really nice. When you use the spin move, if you opt to stop the dizzy animation is pretty funny.   Anyway, it's worth playing IMO.

...

I'm kind of glad this is it for the summer sales.  Two solid weeks of good stuff.  I know I spent more than I expected to.  Still, hopefully we do get one of those fantastic sales like last summer where there were a bunch of games for $0.99 each.

So I finally decided to grab Crimsonland last minute.
One game I passed on that I also want is La-Mulana EX. I think I will hold out and see if it can go cheaper.

My final summer sale haul is:

Crimsonland

Furmins
King Oddball

OMG Zombies HD!

Gravity Crash Ultra

Puddle

Flame Over

Pinball Arcade Season 2 PS4

Even though I have finished Enslaved I always wanted the DLC, so decided to grab the premium edition to mop up missed trophies and for the DLC..

I spent a lot on this sale, my pickups are:

Beach Buggy Racing

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited

ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West Premium Edition

Furmins

King Oddball

Not bad for what is about the cost of a single retail game.

Wish I had grabbed Flame Over and Puddle from week 1, oh well.

I had it preordered cuz I was buying Journey so for an extra $16 i figured why not, i'll get a 10% coupon in a few weeks which I'll use on other stuff.

I played for around 2 hours last night and its ok. Its slow, pretty, and more or less walking simulator. Been playing a lot of shooting / fighting games recently so its a nice little break for me. I hear its 4-5 hours long. At this point I wouldn't bother buying it since no doubt it'll be on sale many times in the future, at $5-10 I'd bite but not really worth any more. I like the story so far, but it is basically just a movie with a lot of walking to do.

Be a cool game to play on Morpheus / Oculus i think.
