Played some ARK with my friend last night.  Very fun even in the beginning stages.  Although I can see it getting boring with no one to play with.  Specifically that long ass night cycle.  Maybe once you've got a good base and a few levels under your belt it wouldn't be too bad, but initially having to hide for that long would make solo play drag.

 
Just so I get this straight I have an Ipad (it's an older version I don't knwo exactly what model) if i get more RAM for it can I play FO4 on it when it comes out?

The night cycle can initially be a pain. If you grab a torch you should at least be able to function out there in the dark wilderness. Just be careful not to get ambushed. ;)

Last year, it was dirt-cheap for a retail copy on Best Buy. I paid like $4 for it, IIRC.

Ain't played it in a LONG-time and since I bought the 4GB card. I should check it out again sometime.

GTA V with everything maxed, even the advanced graphics. Or Skyrim with a lot of mods.

Just for kicks, try GTA IV on it. You probably won't get a constant 60fps just because of how bad a port that game is.

Does Bruticus have a group or something for his Ark server to help noobs and coordinate and all that?

If not, might be a good idea.

So GalCiv3, yay or nay? The price is right but reviews seem ambivalent.  If I'm going to take on another space 4x it needs to be worth the time investment.  Endless Space was okay but I wouldn't mind a bit more polish and personality.

I thought this was the official lets talk about "Ark deals" thread. There's no group yet but we try to help anyone that joins the server with a noob carepack and endless hours of great advice we never follow ourselves (followed by our tribe devolving into a huge clusterfuck of deaths were we start screaming at each over whose fault something is). That said, a real group certainly might be a nice idea and would be a good place to layout the server settings and the mods we're using/considering.

That joke failed to begin with because everyone has different page settings. Might have worked if he had linked to the OP though

I'd throw Metal Gear Solid V and Mad Max in as nice looking recent games too. Also Fallout 4 will be out soon.

Mad Max in particular you should be able to get pretty cheap if you look around enough.

Like I said before.. Syntax Error posted a link to a page, not a post. I can't believe we're still talking about this. I believe Syntax posted what for him is the last page of the steam thread, while for me what he linked to was a page from March.

if I purchase a Steam game with credit card or paypal, do I get money back in my credit card or paypal when I request for refund?

how long does it take for the fund to go back?

You can choose for it to go back to the original source of payment, but I think you can also opt for Steam wallet instead. Takes about 3-4 days to get your refund, might be quicker if you used paypal.

While we're on this topic, you guys should all be viewing 50 posts per page. Anything lower is too few to scroll through and not read before having to click for the next page, and 100 gets you too many dumb gifs in a row.

I think I'll be passing on the ram upgrade since I won't really need it, but if you need ram and have Amazon prime now, you should check it out. Mine has 4x4gb of ddr3 1866 hyperx for only $49.

I don't think any games would benefit from 8GB individually but it's nice to have plenty of RAM for when you're running other stuff (like memory-eater Firefox) in the background. Still, 8GB is a comfortable number to be at.

Yeah, I had it on low for ARK last night, might try medium but it was running much smoother than before.

For those interested in ARK, Bruti's server is the way to go. He was on last night and answered all my questions and dropped a ton of loot to help me out.
