I agree that the wave 1 list is weak. Weird that Halo Reach wasn't day one. See below for an important note in the press release:

You can expect new Xbox One Backward Compatible games to be announced on a regular basis, starting in December. More titles are on the way, including fan favorites like Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite and Skate 3. All the major titles were ones we already knew about (Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Gears, etc.) so that makes it seem less impressive right off the bat. I'm happy to see NBA Jam OFE on there.
 
Honestly though, why would they try and hype up such a big thing for the One but make such a shitty first impression with that list? It kills any hype tied in to BC since no one cares for these games lol. Should've had a stronger line up for BC launch

I like the list. A lot of those quick pick up games like nba jam are gonna be great to have on the 'ol One. Really wanted to see dark souls 1 though.

I've always said that backwards compatibility for Microsoft is a cost-effective way to buy time in those first few lean years where there's no great software on the new systems. They did the exact same thing for the original Xbox. Why did anyone expect different this time?
 
Shadow Complex has been on my to buy list but I sold my 360 before it came out.

Waiting for Alan Wake, Halo Reach and doubtful but hoping for Tales of Vesperia
 
53 of my 274 digital games made the list in this first run. Not too bad. Gotta believe the big games will come in time as publishers see some residual sales from these titles. I bet a big reason for no Call of Duty, Halo: Reach, etc off the bat has to be that we're smack dab in the holiday season and publishers don't want to cannibalize any sales from people who would be content with the last gen games.

 
Kind of disappointed with the list too. That said, it would be nice if our date night was a sale on all of the BC games.
 
Was really looking forward to Alan Wake. But who am I kidding, it would sit in the backlog where it's been for years now. And to top it off (as others have said) the 360 is about 2 feet from the xb1 and a simple push of the remote away.
 
Seems like most titles are XBLA games. I wonder what the tallies would tell us? How many arcade vs retail? And how many were already available digitally vs retail disc only before?

I "played" Shadowrun last night. In other words played a tutorial and searched for a game out of curiosity. Were the only guy in the only lobby when I searched for a game?

All of the retail titles are available as GoD from what I see.

I just launched Shadowrun and got into a game immediately.

 
Don't know if I should buy Catherine just to be sure. how is it? I have a huge backlog but don't mind adding something else. It's not like I'm going to take my Fallout 4 copy tomorrow and bought The Witcher 3, Halo 5 and Black Ops 3 in the last 2 weeks... lol

SC is one of the best games on the 360 period so well worth picking up.

Would be nice since it makes them easier to bother with.

 
Damn I miss Battlefield 3 and Red Dead. I bet those multiplayer communities will skyrocket again for a while if they get cleared.

 
For those in X1 Preiew, try playing those new games now. On 360 they added the "xbox one" thing on every games that's on the list. It wasn't there yesterday

Really? Great! I was actually shocked there was anyone online last night although it was 2am est on a Sunday night. Good to hear it's still possible to play it at sometime anyway. I figured it would be a game that I would have to set up sessions.

Boy, is that the truth. Months of hyping, and Backward Compatibility limps out of the gate. Might as well have delayed the thing to December.

I try not to be a complainer in life - that is so easy to do....but c'mon, Microsoft! *sigh* ....Here's hoping December's list is amazing.

 
From that BC list, I have 39 arcade and 27 digital. So 66/100 is pretty awesome. I'll only download about half that so 30+ games I can access and play right away is pretty sweet. I LOVE how diverse the X1 library just became.

I thought we (the community in general) hyped it way more than they did.

Fable 2 is the only disc game I have on the list, going to try it shortly.
 
I'm pretty indifferent about this BC list, there are some gems on there but most have already been available to preview members. Thing I'd play the most would probably be NBA jam which I'm glad to see, but that would require four One controllers to get the most out of it, so i don't think I'll be retiring my 360 anytime soon.
 
I am most disappointed in the lack of Halo on this list.  I wanted Halo Wars.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising may be the strangest entry on this list.

Halo Wars/Reach would have made sense.

But the existence of MCC makes it damn near pointless. At most, a small population boost is the only effect.

I like it just for the fact I can transfer the Games from my 360 to my x1 and free up that memory space on the 360. So I can download more games I'm never going to play.

Maybe I'm alone in being really excited about that BC list. The fake list had too many obvious choices. Major Nelson's list has a lot of oddball games I love that I NEVER pictured being BC material. Hopefully this means that they're going to try to cover as much ground as possible and not just stick with the AAA retail titles that are all being remastered anyway.

 
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is great, too. Seriously pick that up if it ever goes on sale. Will be a nice one to have on :xb1:.

Also, remember to upload your 360 saves to the cloud. That way you will be ready for Thursday.

Correct me if I'm wrong but those are install sizes on 360, aren't they? One thing I don't like about BC is they are larger install sizes due to whatever software emulation was done.

Ugh, I never thought of that. Can anyone comment on this specifically? Like the size difference between xbox 360 games and then 360 games played on the X1. If say Banjo Kazooie N&B is 6.2GB on 360 and then something like 7.0GB on the X1?

 It's an extra 600 MB with each game IIRC. My xbox is updating so I can't check but the really small games like N+ and Jet Pack Refuelled were 20 mb on 360 and like 600 MB on Xbox One.

The fake list had a bunch that MS said would get BC that didn't get it yet. So I'm hoping many of those are still coming.
 
Looking forward to going back to The Stick of Truth at some point. I bought that right around when I got my Xbox One and never came back to it. That will probably be a great January game.

Like if I put Vanilla Mass Effect or Borderlands, would I have access to the DLC still?

My :360: is actually plugged in to my :xb1:, so I don't een have to change inputs on the receiver, and I'm still SUPER PUMPED about all these games I'll be able to play without having to turn on the :360:.

So hopefully Fable II from the Fable Trilogy will count, I'd hate to have paid $15 for that Trilogy just to not be able to play it on the :xb1:. Also, it looks like it might finally be time to crack open my Grand Wizard Edition!

From the way their FAQ is worded it seems like no. I was curious about this too.

Yes. If you own the DLC, you can install and use it just like you do on the Xbox 360. To install DLC you own, go to the Manage Game section for that specific title and install the DLC to your drive.
