You know what's shocking.  Tomb Raider being so shocking'ly good while all the shockingly overhype'd games like FO4 and H5, while good, are not as shockingly amazing as they are "supposed" to be.

Don't get me wrong, FO4 shocked me with with it's shockingly fun gameplay since...shockingly...I have never played a FO game before, but still it doesnt live up to the hype.

Too bad TR did so unshockingly bad in sales...hope it doesnt destroy Crystal.

But in all seriousness...TR is right behind Bloodborne for my GOTY; if you don't has it yets...gets its

Yeah I've bought every game release and I was expecting Fallout 4 and Battlefront to come up on top but my playtime has been

Tomb Raider - almost done, been playing 3-4 hours every day

Black Ops 3 - really good!  Haven't finished SP campaign but liking MP, I didn't like the last COD at all.  will buy digital if it drops to under $40

Fallout 4 - really good, but looooooong so waiting until family is visiting in laws before i have a 72 hour bachelor marathon

Battlefront - fun in a "I love star wars" way, but really, really mediocre game

Halo 5 - man this was a giant turd

Taken King - loved it for 3 weeks, haven't touched it at all since then

Same here:

Tomb Raider - Little over halfway - 9.8275135/10 - About 12 hours in (Played 18 hours of FO4...then started TR and haven't stopped)

Black Ops 3 - 2 SP Missions in - 9/10 - Love the MP, but no time to play due to TR and FO4 -.-

Fallout 4 - 18.2 hours in - 8/10 - It's a fun time sink; can be beaten in about 20 hours of chill play

Halo 5 - Beat Single Player in 1 sitting - 5/10 - MP sucked, SP was decent

Taken King - Did the raid on three characters 3x per week the week TTK came out - 9/10 purely for stuff to do - I spent too many hours in this that I kinda burnt myself out; 6 hours per day minimum when I didnt have a job

Fallout 4 7/10 Really good but not my cup of tea. I love Skyrim but not as into this as I was Skyrim.

Black Ops 3 7/10 Best COD since Black Ops 2. Really surprised, SP is decent and Zombies is excellent even if it's only one map.

Tomb Raider 9.5/10 Holy sheet, sooooo good. Just play it.

Battlefront 8/10 IDK what you people were expecting. The old Battlefronts had less guns than this one and if I remember correctly, less maps and for sure less modes. Beautiful visuals, tons of fun with friends and music is superb (obviously).

I couldn't agree more. I fell in the FO4 hype, but after 15 hours of gameplay, I found the game not as good as New Vegas. I should have bought Tomb Raider instead, since plenty of people really liked the game. Neverthless, with deals or without them, I will buy the game on Christmas

i think FO4 is good value, its not as good as skyrim imo but contains hundreds of hours of gameplay and content. Im often torn on wether to play BO3 or FO4... tough life

Got my tomb raider and fallout points today. Haven't even touched either game as I just platinumed Syndicate last night. Now to move on to fallout and Star Wars. Play a little of both each day.

how did you guys get the funko shipped to you? I went to the midnight release and the guy told me I could only get bubba fett, chewy, and storm trooper for buying just the game and they didn't have any of those on hand.

If you ordered online for in store pickup prior to monday evening you got the funko for free but it was shipping only, you couldn't choose in store pickup.  Some people who went to the midnight launch just got one handed to them, but it was very YMMV on how much the reps cared and how many funkos they had laying around.  The only other option was just to buy the game (this week) in store, but you won't get the $10 preorder bonus that way.

I didn't get it shipped to me, but I got it sent OMS to the store. I'll just have to go back to pick it up when it arrives.

yea those are the only ones that they were suppose to give away with the game, the newer ones with a console purchase (just ps4?). Some stores were just doing whatvever, some didn't even have any period and tried saying it was while supplies last which is pretty stupid. My store only had the newer force awakens funkos and assume those were the only ones they gave out.

I'd call or email about it, they'll either send you one or a gc for the price of it so you can buy it yourself. but yea if they do let you pick a funko it'll be between chewie fet or the trooper.

I placed my order @ 11:37 am on Monday, I was never given the option to choose the funkos. At the store they only had Kylo, Fin, Rey, and Captain Phasma so I was told I was out of luck.

Remember when video games had something called puzzles?
Oh man, I beat RotR yesterday and there's like two or three "puzzles" in the entire game. Very enjoyable game but would have liked more puzzles/exploration/tomb raiding and less of the go from one set piece gun fight to the next.

I thought the tombs were great! You feel like a genius when you solve some of them :O

The ad actually said "minimum two per store, no rainchecks"

To be fair I was on a time crunch to get it beaten and traded so I opted to skip those after they were pretty lame in the reboot. Still think that should be more of the main game than an optional, hidden away component. But Tomb Raider and Uncharted are becoming like the movies that cast multiple really similar, pretty white men in it who are so generic and similar that I can barely tell them apart.

Im having a lot of fun with this as well, I might even spring for the season pass.

Haha, I feel ya. Probably my favorite part of the game though. Adds a ton of backstory and lore to the universe. Go back and play it when the :ps4: version comes out ;)

Yeah, when it goes GWG/PS+ I'll probably go back and give in to my urge to pick up all the shiny stuff and do all the side things.

I remember in the old tomb Raiders the puzzles were the game. Some of them were really tough too. These new ones the puzzles seem to be an after thought and they are making an action game more then anything. I still enjoy them though but they are very different then the old titles.

I dont know about the puzzles - and, I do love them in my games - but I love the adventure part of it. I did find the shooting, tiring after a while; and, while I get that part about it being necessary, I would have loved more exploration and less fighting.

Nobody knows what an adventure game is anymore or what the adventure part of action-adventure is supposed to mean. Adventure = exploration and puzzle solving.

It's a better Uncharted at this point which is fine.  But the characterization of Lara becomes more questionable the further they go down that road.

just a heads up. looks like orders on Sunday for Battlefront to get in on the bobble head promo are not arriving today. my delivery date is set for sat 21ts which is bs b/c my cart shows release date delivery.

I enjoy the balance RotTR has when it comes to shooting, exploring and collecting. If you want to explore, you have that option or you could just continue with the story ignoring the extra tombs or hidden notes in the game. The shooting gameplay isn't its strong point imo but that's mainly b/c its less stealth than TR was. Might be the difficulty I'm playing on (Seasoned Raider a.k.a Hard mode) but as soon as I hit someone with an arrow, everyone in the room runs towards me and will keep on chasing me into other rooms. Love the A.I. for that but makes it hard to play the game I want to or like I played TR.

Either way, it's still a great game that knows what it's doing and improves on what was lacking a bit in TR.

I have no gripes with the actual shooting, just the amount of it. It's really the CoD formula or encounter, advance, encounter, advance. The only difference is that in between those sequences you have the option to explore some instead of being confined in a hallway.

I enjoyed it, it's got a hot face next to it in my signature. It's fine that this is what it is but it's definitely trending towards shooter and away from tomb raiding. But that's what the market wants so that's what the market gets. Let's just hope they keep the quality up.
What exactly is the Best Buy bonus code for Battlefront preorders? It says "Battle of Jakku", but isn't that going to be a free DLC map anyway?
Early access to it. I think it comes out in a couple of weeks, and then a week after that it's available to everyone.
