This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

A certain distribution site from the land of Starbucks seems content with thriving on their market transaction profits and using those to fund endeavors into hardware, VR, etc. Steam machines haven't made a splash and the controller got a mixed response. If VR is a big dud of empty hype and marketing bullshit, I wonder what Valve does after that.
I doubt anything practical. They could probably close down Steam and still coast for years on the profit they've made. Of course most of that profit goes to Gabe... who was a billionaire in the first place. It's a problem when you have no real motivation to produce tangible results. Valve is now Gabe's playground where he gets to spend millions on things he thinks the industry needs.

I just grab all those Alienware coupons whenever they come up. You never know when they might be useful. No sense in Gilbying a free coupon.

Anyone commit the crime of fakeybroing Sword Coast Legends and can give a quick review?
It is on Nuuvem for roughly $10, not sure if its region or paypal locked. It is kind of tempting, I was going to download it for the free weekend until I saw how big it was and decided it wasn't worth it for the maybe 1-2 hours I'd spend on it.

What thread better for organizing 4-packs? There are a few games I would be interested in if others want in. I don't want to risk being hung with codes. That happened once before/

This sale would be better if Brut was still alive. He wouldn't have let it come to this.
He's going nuts about Steam Inventory Helper in the chat, even though it's the Steam Community's fault for sucking so hard they had to put trade and listing restrictions on everything. Spilled his soda all over his Cowboys mouse pad, even.

As well he should. I've still got 16 pages of cards left to shift and 510 cards already on the market. I would have been done with it by now if Brut was here to motivate them to work better!

Holy crap.. so many posts the past day or so. Went through like 8 pages before i said f it and went to the last few.

Thanks for the free STEAM game suggestions for my niece. I put them on her laptop to try. I was going to get her reaction to them and see what else to look for but she wouldn't stop playing Hatoful Boyfriend that i threw on there (bought it on GOG a while back, i like DRM free stuff that i can put wherever). LOL she loves the damn thing. Thought she'd like Crypt of the Necrodancer too but that was too tough for her.

If anyone else has any other good free STEAM kids game suggestions id love to hear them. I guess i'll start browsing this sale and see if theres anything good. Theres a lot of bitching here about it so i guess not. I do want Undertale, but not at a pathetic 20% off

Back when I started paying attention to this place (and steam sales), it was pretty much guaranteed that a new thread was required, or would be in the very near future when a sale came along.  Today's version of the thread seems to poke along in comparison.

Steam Inventory Helper? Filthy casuals. Pros do it manually.

(Seriously, I listed 80+ holiday cards on the mobile app last night. I wouldn't recommend it)

The discount on Undertale isn't great but I feel like it's one of those games that I want to play Right Now just so I can see what the fuss is about.

The Masterplan and Castaway Paradise are also calling me, but I'd best wait for the BGCQ Secret Santa to get sorted out first. It's not like these deals are going anywhere.

The Masterplan was $2 the other day.. it was posted on steamgifts, not sure if posted on here.

It seems like the kind of game that'd be in a Humble monthly, so maybe you're better off waiting on it anyway since you're subscribed.
That is actually my biggest worry for this sale. I like the Humble Monthly setup and I'll stay subscribed because, by and large, the titles have been decent quality offerings (let's ignore that I own half of them).

The 5/6 titles I'm looking at are all ripe for monthly inclusion. Can't win. Aaaaargh.

There will be many a sacrifice this sale.

I'm looking at:
- dark souls 2 complete
- gabriel knight
- lords of xulima
- endless legend

I loved DS1, still didn't finished it but I want to try the second one mainly because haven't tried the first after the g4wl removal (besides importing my saved game), I don't know if dsfix still works with the game. Any thoughts?

I'm also eyeing FFXIII. I'd like to play some FF game, haven't played one since VII

I would finish DS1 and maybe by then DS2 will be even cheaper since DS3 is right around the corner. That is my plan anyway.

Last time I played DS1 there was a pretty active modding community and dsfix was working fine.

*Edit: Spoder beat me to it. I didn't post the deal here even though I bought it because I figured you guys would poo poo it and refuse to buy it insisting you must wait for a bundle no matter how long or if it even happens.

Sometimes I don't post deals here that haven't been posted even when I know about them (and buy them) because you guys are so fucking picky.

And I refuse to buy the god damned Humble monthly SURPRISE BITCH box. Even if the psychic friends say it looks like something that will be in a Humble I rarely buy from them anymore because the few games they have that I want are either in some too expensive tier or I guess now in the blind order $12 monthlies.

The Gabriel Knight remake is worth it. The story holds up, the new art is great and the new voice actors play their part well. It's from the same studio that made Moebius, but the many problems that plagued that title (terrible animations, for instance) are not present here.

FFXIII isn't a bad game per se, but it really depends on what you're looking for out of a Final Fantasy game. A lot of the complaints leveled at it are totally accurate: the first 20ish hours are basically one long hallway tutorial, the story is totally nonsensical, etc. I did like the battle system quite a bit once I figured it out, so if you're looking to play based on that, you'll be good to go.

I'm looking for a good jRPG game. Good combat mechanics, a nice plot... Something like FF6, chrono trigger and such (I know those examples are a bit extreme, but just to make a point), but with newer graphics of course (not some rpg maker game). Zestiria would be great, but will wait for a better sale

Alright, I officially Tonybro'd Titanfall Deluxe after getting two more slowbro credits (Amazon owes me a third but I might have to email them for it since they already shipped the item and no email yet).  Slowbro credits are like the new $5 EC coupons.

Zestiria is actually pretty good, I've been enjoying that one so far. Probably one of the better JRPGs I've played in a while.

Your tastes sound like they run really similar to mine (Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger are two of my favorite games all-time), so you can probably wring $7.99 worth out of FF13, just don't expect to have your socks blown off.

One other thing to consider: there is a strong possibility that FF13 may be in the BTA tier for the current Humble Bundle since it was in the SE Mystery Box thing. BTA is around $5 right now, so may be worth holding out a week (or grabbing the Humble if there is other stuff you want) to see if it appears, especially since the price should be the same on Steam through the end of the sale.

dollar'd. Already have all the BTA games I'm interested in. I'll wait until next week, but I think they'll add more tomb raider games

not gonna buy Fallout 4 at full price.
Supposedly $40 at GMG after coupon. I mean, if you're itching to play it this winter that's probably the best you're going to get.

Guess GMG 86'd the base discount on the game that you could apply the coupon to.
