I didn't buy anything during the last three big sales so I bought what I missed, minus what I choose to buy from Humble. Spent $25.

Any word on when the hell Darkest Dungeon will actually be released? Its been on sale for half of several times and i've been wanting to play it but i dont do early access.
1/19/2016

So regarding the holiday cards: should I turn what I have left into gems? They disappear at 12PM right?

You're all so lovably predictable.

:grouphug:

Sidenote - I'm really enjoying, but am being consistently punished by, Guild of Dungeoneering. Simple concept, well executed Darkest Dungeon-lite with just enough challenge to keep it interesting without being soul destroying. The learning curve is shallower than DD which is a blessing for me, although I really need to do some reading on strategies.

Good game, though. Very happy with it at 66% off.

Like many others, bought absolutely nothing this sales. And former sub 20 cents junk are now all pegged at a minimum of 49 cents or so. Pff.

a shit ton of Magic cards (they said Duels was intended to get people back into paper...260+ hours and $150 later, I'd have to agree...)
With how Magic: Duels has been run, I'd have guessed it's intended to make people want to play other games. I got bored during the two month delay before the expansion and stopped playing.

Haul (I'm bored):

For my kids:
- Dragonball
- The Naruto game without a number on it's name
- The new sonic game

For me:
- Aaaaarggkkslashen legacy
- Kings quest ep1
- Satellite reign
- Metal slug bundle
- Never Alone
- Craft the world
- Dungeon of the endless
- Necrodancer
- Door kickers

- An eagle (ARK)

Can anyone tell me if the Styx Master of Shadows being sold at amazon is a Steam code?  The page/reviews say nothing of it and my google-fu has failed me.  I am 80% sure I read somewhere that it requires Steam regardless of where it's purchased, but I wanted to be sure.

Anybody know whether the Telltale stuff has Putin pricing? I can't VPN at work.
Wolf Among Us: Season Pass - $1.53

Walking Dead: Season One - $1.53

Walking Dead: Season Two - $1.53

Walking Dead: 400 Days - 44¢

Tales from the Borderlands - $6.14

Minecraft: Story Mode - $6.14

Game of Thrones - $6.83

Back to the Future: $6.15

Didn't see any -RU addresses but you're on your own to confirm.

I'm not sure... I wouldn't risk it truth be told. (No mention of Steam under requirements.)

Dying Light is easy drop with new version coming soon. It will be game + season pass, but I guess it will be cheaper than game + SP separately.

I don't think that's how it's going to work tbh. I have a feeling they might do some shady shit and stop selling the base game or something (tho i can always buy it via cdkeys for $19 or cheaper later too).

But you are probably right, so I think I'll drop DL and get the other 3

I hear you, it certainly has been a huge missed opportunity for Wizards. A huge portion of the playerbase for iOS dropped off during the months when they couldn't play at all. Support and communication have both been abysmal without a doubt. Still, I remain one of the bigger apologists because I've never had any technical issues with it (and I'm not about to go play with live smelly people at a local shop...I taught my wife to play and that and online are good enough for me). It was a boring couple of months before the expansion hit, but that gave me time to grind the gold to buy more than half of it out of the gate. And the expansion has revitalized the meta big time; it's a nice selection of new cards that shook things up quite a bit. I'd recommend giving it another try if you're feeling tolerant. Basically it's really rekindled my love for the game even if the digital implementation is kind of shit; the new cards and mechanics they've come out with the past couple years are a ton of fun and a big step up from the limited potential of when I used to play...gulp...almost 20 years ago. (That said, I've been playing Duels since 2011 and going back to it now the newer cards are definitely better and more interesting.)

As a last minute purchase, I picked up Descent, Descent 2 and Descent 3. They're all 50% off, and I just got Descent Underground from Indie Gala in their Every Monday Bundle.

Since Descent 1 and Descent 2 got removed from GOG, there's a fair chance they'll be delisted from steam. (Because Interplay isn't paying Parallax.)

About $5 is still more than I'd want to pay, but unless all of the legal stuff and back money is paid back, I can't imagine these would ever get any cheaper.

"Missed Opportunity" is pretty much the best way to explain ANY digital product that Wizards of the Coast touches.
Magic the Gathering Online is a horrible joke. They revamped their website about a year back... and made it LESS functional.
They went to update their card search engine. And managed to break it for a while.

The few times they decide to do something smart and hire someone competent, they then think "Oh, we could do this just as well", bring the product back in house and manage to screw it up.

Lego Jurassic World has gone just under $5 at putingate.

With that wrapping up my holiday purchases, here's my haul:

Bought with Brazilian/Russian passport

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2

Kings of Kung Fu

Lego Jurassic World

The Escapists

The Escapists - Walking Dead

Gifted/Won

Age of Mythology Extended Edition (Thanks Tebow!)

Assassin's Creed Syndicate (No this wasn't the "deal" people were getting, I got a new video card for xmas)

Cross of the Dutchman

Guild Commander

Guns, Gore and Cannoli

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3

Mad Max

Shadowrun: Hong Kong

Shark Attack Deathmatch 2 (Thanks Fox!)

Sheltered (Thanks Preedatore!)

The Park

Yet Another World

This sale somehow made the clicker game summer event look fun in comparison and that was quite an accomplishment.  No flash or daily deals and a completely forgettable noir "event" caused me to not care about this sale at all and I ended up with the lowest amount of purchases for myself out of any steam sale.  I really hope they pick things up for the summer.

I am recovering from my sinus infection so I am no longer needing to sleep half of the day and I just keep adding to my Steam cart. I like hidden object games and similar casual adventure games but I've never played any of these Nancy Drew ones. Are they actually any good?
So I know I'm kind of late on this but in all seriousness they're actually pretty well put together games and much better than your average by the numbers Hidden Object game. A few are Hidden Object but most are actually more like adventure games, you talk to people, put together clues etc. So it's not just clicking around in a junk pile, though I sometimes enjoy the mindlessness of that too. :p

I'm sad they stopped putting their games on Steam just about the time that everyone and their grandma started getting in. I think eventually I may cave and get those non-Steam newer Nancy games, there are about 4 of them.

Anyway for that price if you like adventure/mystery games that pack is a good deal.

Sale sucked etc etc etc.

Euro Truck Sim 2 - Scandinavia + assorted truck bling
Dungeon of the Endless Crystal + DLC
Endless Legend Expansion Pack
Dovetail Games 2016 Collection
Reiza Racing Simulation Bundle
Lucasarts Adventure Bundle
Gundemonium Bundle
Tennis Elbow 2013
Invisible Inc. + DLC
Don’t Starve - Shipwrecked
Renowned Explorers
Shark Attack Deathmatch (4 pack)

Windward (4 pack)

Empire TV Tycoon
Talos Principle
Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest
Saints Row IV GotC Upgrade
Freedom Pack
Slow Down Bull
Planet Diver
Dark Lore Mysteries
A Sirius Game
The Promised Land

Plague Evolved from Santasquatch

Still have $6 left in the gabenpocket, but I think i'll use that as a down payment on USA USA USA Truck Simulator (which is only a month away).

Actual sale feedback: I usually make tons of impulse purchases during a typical sale, either from peer pressure ( fuck you Shark Attack Deathmatch), from interesting finds on the activity feed ( fuck you Reiza Sim bundle, fuck you Dovetail 2016 Collection and probably fuck you Nancy Drew), but typically MOST of my purchases come from the timed flash/dailies.  I didn't buy one single early access survival game this year because I wasn't horribly tempted by potentially missing a deal ( fuck you ARK for not getting a 44% off flash sale).  Maybe this is a good thing.  Maybe the Nanny Storefront has finally realized that I should not be allowed to make my own rash and impulsive decisions.  Pretty sure I actually skipped a purchase or two simply because my phone had disappeared into the Vast Cushioned Recliner Depths and needed extraction before I could verify that Yes, Indeed I Do Wish To Purchase Big Titty Texas Hold'em.

tl;dr when dose the summer seal?

Steem, wher iz Jessica Felcher Pack?!?!?!? I wait.

re: Overcast Walden +1 hot ass garbage digital herpes

It's garbage. I played it for one of my blog thingies. But I guess it's a +1.
As I recall, the 28 cent unlicensed knock-off Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Don't Panic mouse pad was preferable.

Of course this is when people actually spent some couch change on Walden. Remember that?

Someone talk me into or out of buying GTAV. I have gaben bucks aplenty and I would actually play it if I had it but the CAG in me is sick at the thought of spending that much on it. I really want it on steam at like a 15 or less price point but I think that rockstar will milk the 30ish price tear forever.  I miss the good old days of no region problems and Russian traders. So someone talk me into or out of it. Does anyone think it will drop a lot in the next year on steam?

I think it may be around 10 by year's end.

If you're going to play it right away, you like the franchise and have gBux, just buy it. Otherwise you will spend that money through the year on games you probably won't play.

But that's just my opinion

Guessing we all decided against GTA V at 35.99? I don't blame us... Not a new all time low nor did it tie the old. (For steam obviously.)
AFAIK $30 was the price of a card and not the game, which is what you saw on ITAD. I think the current price is the all-time-low for it.

Is was...? Damn, I told myself no because of the ITAD price...

Would someone buy it for me so I don't have to decide?

I'm probably going to buy it, I'm just saving some of my purchases for last minute buys. Did Motoki post his haul? I'm trying to go over shit I might've missed but don't see his haul post

Still can't decide on Axiom Verge, I know it'll get bundled eventually.. but I don't know if I want to wait a year
