Considering the character variety and color palette, it's surprising they went with such a generic looking character for the statue and then leave it unpainted. If I was interested in the game, I'd be disappointed with that choice and probably skip it.

Nah honestly as much as I want the statue (I do) I'm wayyyyy more interested in the art book. If it was just the statue I'd probably have waited and skipped pre-ordering the CE in hopes it'd drop but the statue/artbook/soundtrack/steelbook/pre-order bonuses really convinced me to just say screw it and order the thing. I'm sure I'll be happy with it.

So I have seen one unboxing video where the Doom CE statue...the face looked derpy.

There was another unboxing video and the face wasn't that bad. Is every mold different? Or was the one derpy looking one a fluke?

Yeah, I can understand that. I've definitely bought CEs for one thing (usually artbooks & soundtracks as well) despite there being other things in it I didn't care about.

Thats not a steelbook, its just a metal plate.

Also Amazon bumped up my Overwatch order to the 23rd. Didn't realize they were sending out in time to allow for pre-loading, thats awesome. Totally ruined any reason I might have wanted to get at Best Buy or Gamestop.

I was just updating my S&S items on Amazon when looking at my Open Orders I forgot I pre-ordered Mirror's Edge Catalyst CE.  

After analyzing it further, I decided to cancel it.  Not worth the $200 ($160 with Prime, $171 w/tax).    Just a heads-up for anyone else who may have forgot since the game was delayed a couple of times.

Today I learned: Go to CAG before playing your new game, as someone might offer some shady, fraud-based return maneuver that I wish my not-shady brain had thought of. I wanted the CE, but didn't get it because it didn't have the Season Pass, and what you suggested didn't even cross my mind. Would have basically meant getting the UAC bundle, but with the statue for an extra $20 (less with GCU). I'm apparently a good person, but a terrible CAG.

I wish it were a SteelBook too, but it's supposed to be a pre-order bonus... It's not like we're paying extra for it, so proclaiming it as "not worth it" is kinda silly unless you aren't interested at all in the gane.

FYI I got the full price back and I got the Season Pass for free. Best Buy told me it was a free item and to basically keep it lol. So I did and got the CE instead.

Conversely it's simply another re-release of another game many of us completed in full just a few years ago. You have to have a reason to pull the trigger and purchase. It's a great buy for anyone who doesn't already own the game. Presently, it seems like something for which I'll probably cancel my order and then pick it up when it's inevitably sub $20 on Amazon.

Cool presentation. Really wish it was a steelbook.

The sticker on the front mentions that the armored case is for a limited time only. Probably just the first print is metalpak and then they switch to a regular case.

Yeah, to a lot of these companies "first run" and "pre-order bonus" are one and the same.

I think they pushed it hard as being for pre-orders, but unless you sell a lot in advance you're almost guaranteed to have extras. I can't imagine this game is going to sell all that well here in the west, but I hope it does.
 
Im definitely getting Overwatch but im on the fence on getting the CE. The steelbook and artbook look really nice.

Best Buy has an exclusive Metallic art print or something like that when you Pre-Order it. Does anyone know how big it is?

I was curious about that too. Then I saw GameStop has a mini baby Winston figure and I'm curious how big that is and what it is exactly.
 
They have commercials at gamestop showing employees playing with the figure so you can get a good idea of its size (its super small)
