The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

I tried that, but I was shot down after the only copy in-store brought up the $39.99 listing when scanned for Frys.com; you might need a Day-One edition to have the greatest chance of success.

I think i lucked in to employees that didnt care. Also tomb raider for 360 still rings up in store for 24.99

I tried that too. But no Day 1 editions around me. And none in stock at the closest fry's.

And the Star wars: Battlefront's trade-in value is horrible. Walmart is 2x and 3x better.

Is the PayPal digital limit kick in when purchase $200 at one time. I've done $200 the pass few days and since today may be the hurrah I was thinking of buying $200 today? TIA
 
I couldn't resist doing one more pass today. Returned the doom from yesterday, used my b2g1 coupon and the overflow credit from before to buy 8 boomerangs, took em to another GS and traded them in and used a $25 and $15 preowned coupon made with the points from yesterday to get Doom, Fallout 4 and season pass, and a nyko databank to hold one of my $11 3TB HDDs from walmart.

I was buying 3 $100 Visas and the guy told the girl ringing me up that trade credit can't be used on it but I used it anyway and she didn't notice at all😂😂 they also don't require ID in Wilmington so it's dumb straight!!

I did $400 in one transaction yesterday ($100 X 4), then a couple hours later did $200 ($100 X 2), and then this morning did $150 ($100 X 1 & $50 X 1).

You do have to jump through verification hoops with PayPal, but I got them to all work and received my codes 15 minutes after.

Selfish is perhaps overboard, but there is something to be said about trying to keep the quality up in your trading environment if you like to move inventory around.

I know in a target rich environment, I will completely ignore anything not in a real case. It isn't worth the extra scrutiny, and a missing case may be indicative of other issues with the disc itself - especially 360 and Wii games. Then again, yesterday I had two employees outright say they don't have to check my games because of my reputation, so I'm invested in keeping that image and perhaps biased.

Keeping special/rare cases or whatnot, that's reasonable to me. But if it's a normal version of a game that is readily available, it seems petty and inconsiderate to the downstream consumer.

I've had so many problems with scratched discs (Wild Arms 2 and Halo 4 come to mind). I even remember going in once trading stuff in, getting a refurb fee and watch them place it into a drawer. When I bought games with the 4 for $20 I had even more trouble and if you ask to see your stores Gamecube games so many of them are beat to hell at least in my area. I should of taken on picture of this but one store took Halo Combat Evolved Xbox OG as Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Xbox One. It is possible the case was just out there for the actual Xbox One game though so I may be incorrect bringing it up. It really depends on your area but merchandise can be in fairly piss poor conditions at times.

I went to a new GameStop today. The associate suggested to the dude in front of me to use his trade credit on a Visa card so he could use it on whatever he wants. Talk about good customer service lol.

not a big margin but if you have too much bby credit, an even trade off btw is grand theft auto san andreas msrp is $19.99, so $15.99 with GCU (or have them pm Walmart/Amazon $14 ps3, $13.25 x360), trades for $12.50/$13.75/$20 after 50% bonus with PUR. if you have too much walmart credit, ratchet & clank collection is $14.96, trades for $15/$16.50/$24 after 50% bonus with PUR...amazon has pm $14.96 but don't think bby still carries this in store to pm.

No the gift receipt has nothing to do with how you're refunded. You can use a gift receipt for the return & still be refunded in credit as that is how the item was paid for. That's all the info on a gift receipt other than rewards number.
 
i've been trying to use an ebay gift card and when i check out and input it in it shows the owed amount as 0, but when i log into my paypal it says "you have been logged out of paypal" and when i try to relog in it says :x-5618: this promotional code is not active yet" so does that mean the gift card doesnt work?

Sounds like the gift card was not yet activated. Maybe wait another hour or so.

OK, I need some advice here. I went in earlier today and traded a bunch of games to get $129.67 in store credit. The associate told me I had to buy Doom or Uncharted 4 to get the extra 50% credit bump. The copy of Doom is new and factory sealed, not "GameStop sealed," and I asked for a gift receipt. Can I simply go back this week, return the game with the gift receipt, and get them to put the $59.99 credit back on my Pro account, or do I have to do an exchange for another item? I want to buy some gaming gift cards next time I go back to the store. Didn't do it today in case it was going to cause them to get wise.
 
FYI, one of my local GS wouldn't allow me to buy any Visa, Kindle, gas cards, or eBay GC with trade credit. He said they got a message from corporate 2 weeks ago to only accept cash or credit for those specific gift cards. I know the system allows it but they are definitely cracking down in my area.

As another day comes to a close, I just want to give a shoutout to everyone who had balls today.

You know that moment. The one where you are sitting in your car outside of a GameStop with 20 games in hand. Some may be the same game, but for different consoles. And you think to yourself "I'm so going to get shut down today." But, you suck it up, and make that walk through the parking lot and straight up to that door, walk inside and play the game. You get that big fat gift card, and walk out a champion. Only to head to the next store to do it again.

So, shout out to the guys who nutted up and went for it today. We are victorious once again.

Games that have provided a nice return for me have been Dark Souls II (used 360 is best), Tom Clancy's Rainbow Seige, Tomb Raider 360, just cause 3, minecraft story mode, just dance 2016, all from Best Buy.

I did many others as well such as ac syndicate, street fighter v, phantom pain, halo 5 (yesterday), just to keep maximizing values due to the loss of $12-20 by having to cycle in and out of doom and uncharted 4.

Sadly the last two stores would not let me get eBay cards so a ton of credit is locked into trade cards. But maybe tomorrow I'll figure a way to get it out and onto eBay cards.

Amen brother. Ironically the last store wouldn't let me get a visa gift card but allowed me to get eBay card. I also just gave a copy of uncharted 4 to my brother as he wants to play it. Rip Minecraft story mode and tomb raider 360. You were the Jurassic world of last year.

This was totally me today. I was worried that the new account i made something wouldnt work out right. But everything worked perfectly. Also another mvp was wind waker from gs. Have multiple account and 20% coupons, it was a good flip. Maybe one day we will see a pikmin 3 value again.

Also non game related i did get a free box of enternal masters(mtg) from ebay with all the ebay credit i got. Planning to get bb credit but waiting on a ebay bucks promo.
 
So anyone get the "to help prevent you from flipping, we limit the amount of items purchased by a single account at one time." "This buying limit is temporary, come back later when the gamestop 50% promo ends because you only have 30 minutes anyway and that's not enough time to buy some games at bestbuy with ebay gc which takes at least 20 minutes to receive and flip those games to gamestop"

 
Seems like the memo is being passed around San Jose, CA.  I went to the King Rd Gamestop as well as the Great Mall GS this morning and both wouldn't let me buy Visa/Shell/Amazon/eBay cards :(

One account. 5 Gamestop stores within 15 miles of my house.
$168 in cash spent at my best buy ------> $520 in credit.

I got tired of running back and forth so I threw in the towel this morning. I could've made another 150 easily but meh.

 
Got back from doing my trade ins. Tried getting a gift receipt but all they did was reprint the same receipt and it says it is a copy, was told that they only do that one time a year (bs)... so hope I don't have any trouble returning UC4.

Hoping this trend doesn't extend to Steam, Xbox Live or PSN cards at any point. GameStop wishes we would use all our credit to buy those damned Funko figures. As I was standing in line earlier to do my trade in, I wondered if they had ever sold even one of those things. There was an entire wall of them.

Yeah, I had a dumbass manager do that yesterday and then write "can not be returned" next to doom on the copy... but not on the original receipt.

 
I didn't see this until this morning.  Almost all of the low priced flips were gone from my local Best Buys.  I ended up having to go with higher priced stuff.  Spent $543.82 and ended up with $890.79 in GS credit.  Still have an "orphaned" copy of Uncharted 4, going to see if I can return it.  Didn't get a gift receipt so hopefully I'll be able to.  I've had good luck sending my wife in for this stuff - they never give her any hassle.

 
didn't make any money but they let me apply both forza horizon 2 trade in and and 50% bonus for minecraft apply to uncharted 4 so got the game for $1. I thought they were part of separate promos and wouldn't stack.
