  • Mars: War Logs: 75%, $3.74

That's not a complete list, so there's more to choose from than I thought. Still, it's hardly enough to go bankrupt over. Plus, most of these things have already gone on sale for the exact same price and thus a lot of people already own them. I miss the real summer sales.

Does anyone recommend anything from this list?
For starters - Focus HB you missed out on:

https://isthereanydeal.com/specials/#/search:%23%3A2990;/scroll:%23gamelist

Mars: War Logs was in the $1 tier w/ a few other games in the Humble Focus Bundle.

EDIT:

And yes, I did buy that bundle.

And nope, I don't have that Mars WL extra key anymore.

When did Valve get a bug up their ass about individual games being sold for under 49¢?  Once upon a time, there was a bunch of shit for 7¢ - 39¢ but now the floor seems to be locked at four bits.

don't buy telltale game of thrones, its absolutely terrible and I am a huge fan of GOT and telltale games, played all of em except minecraft and back to the future and GoT was the only one I thought was awful.  Horrible technical issues (engine really showing its age), poor visuals, and incredibly bad story.

I've spent a lot more than I thought I would, bought stuff like Elite Dangerous + SP, Shadowrun Anthology, Gabriel Knight, Cloudlands VR, Day of the Tentacle R, Oxenfree, Sniper Elite 3, Stasis, and Ghost 1.  Have the Ys and FF:Lightning Returns in my cart now, will let it sit for a day or two to mull it over.

Stacked nicely with the (basically) 10% off steam cards at best buy this week, which also stacked with the best buy visa card offer I got - get back $10 if I spent $50 at bestbuy.com.

70% off is close enough for Ys. Keep in mind Xseed doesn't sell anywhere but Steam and GOG and doesn't put their PC games on sale that much, plus they historically haven't ever bundled. You're much more limited on deals for them than some other so I wouldn't squabble over that extra 5% between 70-75, though it might be worth waiting for Akiba to eventually go below 50%.

If you won't play it right now but do still want to play a game about taking little girls clothes off, that is.

Speaking of taking clothes off, Hunie Pop is a must. Buy it, play it. It's raunchy and ridiculous but doesn't take itself seriously and the game portion is surprisingly good and addictive.

So what am I getting off this list? Since I dont want to spend this much lol

  • I second the Ys and HuniePop combination. Ys has stayed at these discounts for the past two or three sales, and they're good to get. You don't necessarily have to get them all now. Start with Ys I+II and work your way up? HuniePop is just something you have to experience.

I have well over 100 items on my wishlist, but very little compels me. Several did stand out, though, as far as discounts go. Everything listed here, for example, is less than $10.

    [lists of games]
Valkyria Chronicles, This War of Mine, Pier Solar, and Windward. About half of these games have been available as Steam keys in bundles, and you might want to check the Steamtrades or our very own CAG trading cesspool for spare copies. I don't recommend buying any of the games that have loads of DLC, such as Civ V, until you can get ALL of the DLC at once. That's always the cheapest way to buy those games. Audiosurf 2 is coming out soon, too, so Audiosurf 1 will be on sale again soon to promote the second. You might be able to buy them together as a bundle.

https://isthereanydeal.com/specials/ <- use that to tell which games were bundled before (they are definitely cheaper to buy as Steam keys)

https://steamdb.info/sales/ - use that to check current game prices and bundles (there's a cheap Civ V bundle that includes most of the DLC, but like I said it might get a platinum edition and be even cheaper once Civ VI comes out)

    https://www.steamgifts.com/trades <- trading

https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/327125-steamorigindesura-etc-buyselltrade-thread-read-the-op-one-post-every-three-days/page-213 <- CAG cesspool of Steam gifts and spare keys

Just waiting for steamdb to finish updating.

I don't know about Book I&II sometimes These Damned Kids™ pitch a bitch about the bump combat. I don't mind it since I'm used to it but it is a bit of a relic from the 80s I guess.

Best is highly subjective but if you're talking console refugees and casuals then the best games not being on sale below 20% probably means the latest AAA stuff.

If you have a canadian friend it's worth getting them to check prices out for you, I got a couple of games cheaper gifted from a friend. Also worth noting that Ubisoft pricing seems to be whack all over the western world, for example older Assassin's creed and Rogue are cheaper in Aus than the US.

There is a very nice CAG from Canada who posted in the Trade thread he will help people out. Just helped me save 10% on some games, but it could be more depending.

Huh, that might be worth buying. Never heard of it.
That's the diabolical point of posting my haul early. Tempting others to join me.

All I can say is you have a bunch of shit that has been bundled before on your list. Cesspool ftw.

I just realized I had Icy for 6 months and surprise never played it. I did at least buy it on a cheap wingamestore sale for like $3 though. For some reason some games go on cheap sale there way sooner than elsewhere. *shrug*

I'm thinking about getting Undertale for $6.99. Has there ever been a better deal on it?
I think Undertale will join Shovel Knight on the list of indie games that never ever get a decent discount.

Also, Crypt of the Necrodancer is getting temptingly cheap. Someone buy it so it will be in the Humble Monthly.

That 56% metacritic on Icy has me wary. You early adopters can test it for me. (Yes< I know it has been out a year)
Metacritic is shit for indie stuff particularly the more obscure. It's better suited of Call of Doody assholery.

I just browse the Steam user reviews.

Grim Dawn was worth it day one. Game is a great non AAA non shooter
Meh, Path of Exile is free, everyone interested in this genre owns D2 and D3 + expansions. Victor Vran has been bundled, Van Helsing Final Cut has been like $6. Hard to justify Grim Dawn at its current price.

Wasn't Undertale the "OMG so deep it changed my life forever" darling of a few months back?  I don't know if I'm ready to have my life changed forever just now.

Is craft the world fun? On my wishlist and currently at the lowest price it has been. Yes yes it's been bundled once before but that doesn't help me now.

I liked it way better than Path of Exile (i actually hate that game), and GD has better build variety than Diablo.

Invisible Inc. + DLC for $8sh, the original Deus Ex for sub $2, and Knights of Pen and Paper for $2ish is okay if you like those old school 8 bit NES grinder blobber games.

Everything on sale is one of the previous OMG must play this darlings....or just some bundle fodder. I mean i'm looking at Stardew Valley, but I haven't heard too much about it in a while.

HuniePop is a legitimately good game for $3. Satirical premise aside, the game alone is worth the three bucks in my opinion.
I read on Wikipedia that there was an uncensored version of Huniepop. Is this it, and if not, is the uncensored version worth paying the extra or should I just buy it on this sale?

If you want to support the dev just buy it and download the uncensored patch. If you don't want to support him or have the +1 well............................................................

FWIW I would not pay extra for a non steam uncensored version.

Hand of Fate dev confirmed DLC intentionally not on sale.  It's the 'well you got it in a bundle so now you pay full price for the DLC.'  Never mind the DLC was 60% off back in March.

Knights of Pen & Paper was fun but I played it on a tablet and can't imagine sitting at my desk and playing it on a PC.

Of Orcs & Men was fun in a B-Movie sort of way.  Very linear and the voice acting for everyone besides the two main characters is atrocious but I enjoyed the combat and the game over all.  Really should be $5 but Focus is a bitch about discounting this and Styx (which is still at the same $7.50 point it's been at for the last year).  It was also bundled before so you could always wait and see if that happens again.
