Can't wait for the associated hike in quality of the PS+ games we get each month! That's inevitable, right? Oh and redeem and get three extra months! Right?...

And you all laughed at me for buying like five years two years ago and then some more over the various sales since!

Really this shows more that they're doing so well with it now that they don't feel the need to have that competitive edge now. I'm scared that I'll make it come true by predicting that September will be an amazing month to keep people from jumping ship and then it will be wrasslin and basketball games the rest of the year.

They shouldn't but if something happens where the system doesn't recognize the card you'll have a hell of a time getting it sorted out. And it's less likely but they could decide to honor the face value of the card instead. So it's not super likely you would have issues but things happen.

It looks like a slightly deflated regular PS4 and also seems utterly pointless except to be able to call it something "new." I can't imagine the space savings is meaningful to anyone.

I suppose all of these rumors mean Sony is going for a cheap box to continue outselling Xbox and then a high-end box to compete with Scorpio. It's quite genius since the cheap box will likely be cheaper than Xbox One S and a lot of people won't care about 4k and the expensive box is likely beat Scorpio to market by quite a long time. Idiots like me who care about 4k are going to be willing to spend more on their high-end box anyway, so why should Sony bother trying to put 4k in their cheap box? I wouldn't be surprised if they can very profitably sell the PS4 Slim at $250 or less at this point.

You do not get to keep your games on Xbone

What happens to my Games with Gold games if I cancel my Xbox Live Gold subscription?

On Xbox One, you will no longer be able to access your Games with Gold titles if you cancel your subscription. However, if you decide to renew your subscription at any time, you will be able to access and play your previously redeemed Games with Gold titles again.

On Xbox 360, any Games with Gold titles that you redeem as an Xbox Live Gold member are yours to keep, regardless of whether you continue your subscription.

I have nothing against short games. In fact I think rpgs especially could cut down length wise. but I don't think something I could finish in one sitting is worth 20$. Especially back in the day when renting was more common.

in my eyes length isn't important, quality over quantity

i'm playing assassins creed 4 right now, i think i've sailed on the boat going from one area to the next longer than playing the actual story missions, that's padding the game so they can say the game has a gazillion hours of gameplay

ever buy a movie ticket? you paid at least 10 dollars for something that might have been 90 minutes long, i can't remember the last time i saw a good movie in theaters

4 hours of awesomeness is always better than 20 hours of mediocrity

Really? You've never disliked a game for being short? I've played plenty games that don't feel long enough to justify their price tag. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it while it lasted, just felt it was something worth mentioning on this site in particular. I'm not saying all needs need to have replayability, just pointing out that once those 4 hours are over there isn't much incentive to jump in and get more time out of it. It's just another thing people on this site will consider before plopping down $20.

I also think the praise for this one is way overblown. Not sure how people can simultaneously think it is brilliant and not have any idea what it all was supposed to mean. The ending sequence, which had a lot of buzz in the reviews, just felt bizarre and out of left field. Don't expect to finish it and have some big reveal as to what was going on during your playthrough. You'll be more confused than anything.

All that said, I felt the same way after playing Limbo. If you thought that was a masterpiece I'm sure you'll love this. I do genuinely think it is good game and is worth picking up (on sale) to experience. I just don't get the mega-hype.

It reeks of an arrogant Sony thinking they've got this generation locked-down (they do, at the moment) so they might as well bleed all their fanbase for a little more dough. "What are they gonna do? Play on Xbox? " It's the same kind of mentality that has led to the less stellar PS+ games over these past months, when in comparison, it looks like M$ has been stepping up its GWG offerings as the underdog, more or less a reversal of last gen.

That said, I expect at least September and/or October to have a decent line-up to justify the price hike so they can quell the complaints until people forget about it and move on.

So reading the saugagamers site they mention that they have been swamped with orders as they did not expect the price increase to happen in September. They mention the expectation was Nov/Oct.

I am not surprised one but by this. There is some value to PS+, I know I have played several games I would never have because of it. See Rocket League. However, doing the same thing MS does and just locking in the Ps3 licenses would be great, but stupid at the same time since PS3 games aren't BC on PS4. Maybe rolling in some limited PsNow access wpuld be cool too.

However none of that will happen. This is a cost increase that delivers no additional value. Looking at how poorly PSN is from a usability standpoint and from features it makes no sense. 'Simple things' like changing User Names or 2FA(which is finally coming) or how about customer service that doesn't treat their customers like criminals. Or howabout some downlod servers that don't run slow as dirt.

So we'll see. I am upping for one more year in the minimum. I want to keep playing Destiny, but the price increase with no discernable benefits makes me question whether I keep subbing or just walk away from this type of ecosystem.

Obviously sales on the sub will make or break whether the value justifies the cost, but to be honest I would prefer they ditch the free games and focus on investing in the backbone of the network.

I just want to play the digital PS2 games I already own without having to rebuy them. It's literally the SAME game! I just have to pay to unlock it for a new console.... But Good Guy Sony knows best.

No they aren't. The ps4. Ps2 games are upscaled to 1080 and have trophy support.

They're swamped with orders. They are responsive to messages, I wouldn't worry about being scammed. They will get the code to you or be able to issue a refund if you desire I would imagine.

Riviera is specifically listed and sold through the PS Store on the side for PSTV compatible games under the Classics section. I quick searched it and yes it's compatible and it had english voices. I don't know if it has the original Japanese as an option. I do own the game, but don't have it installed right now.

EDIT:

Downloaded Riviera and installed it to my Vita... upon starting the game it asks if you want English or Japanese voices and that the option couldn't be changed back and fourth in the middle of a game. This happens even before anything else in the game. Text is all English.

His point still stands. XBL people get to keep their 360 games, which are now guaranteed to be "crossbuy", more or less. Now that PS+ is both mandatory for online play and is the same price as Gold, Sony has even less excuse not to offer a similar bargain, at least for PS3 and/or Vita titles. The only defense I can think of is the fact that you get 6 games instead of 4, but who knows how much longer they'll stick to that?

I'm glad to see the majority of you aren't defending this "you'll pay more and you'll like it" price hike like I'm seeing other people on other websites doing. There is a 0.1% chance that any benefit will be passed onto the consumer long-term (as if the current pricing on both subs didn't have a high enough profit margin). It reeks of an arrogant Sony thinking they've got this generation locked-down (they do, at the moment) so they might as well bleed all their fanbase for a little more dough. "What are they gonna do? Play on Xbox? " It's the same kind of mentality that has led to the less stellar PS+ games over these past months, when in comparison, it looks like M$ has been stepping up its GWG offerings as the underdog, more or less a reversal of last gen.

That said, I expect at least September and/or October to have a decent line-up to justify the price hike so they can quell the complaints until people forget about it and move on.

Nobody likes price increases, but the level of outrage on reddit and neogaf has been childish and immature. I wonder how these people react when their water bill or electricity or insurance goes up?

I was already done wasting my time with Microsoft when they increased the cost of Live to $60, but was there the same sort of outrage?
