That sucks. My guy found both transactions and put in a ticket or whatever to have someone look into. Received an email that had me forward on my receipts, which I did. Said I may hear back in 3 days.

Why are you comparing this to the Xbox One S? That's the equivalent of a PS4 Slim. The PS4 Pro literally has triple the GPU horsepower of the Xbox One S.

Leaving out 4K Blu-ray support was a stupid move by Sony though. I don't know what they were thinking.

 
The design does look pretty bad for the PS4 Pro. I don't know why they went with some kind of triple stack design.

From what I saw from the conference, it was just boring overall. They needed to show more actual gameplay. Mass Effect looked okay, but I wanted to see some action on screen. The way the character was walking looked really weird as well.

They should have shown a couple playstation exclusives that will get a patch. Clips of 4k gameplay of Bloodborne and Uncharted 4 should have been mandatory.

Them showing off more scenes from Spiderman was annoying. It wasn't even real gameplay. I want to see spiderman 2 type webslinging gameplay and then I will be sold.

It coming out this year is a surprise. Seemed like it was going to be March-ish 2017. Price is good for both this and slim. I will probably be upgrading to Pro on Black Friday for whatever kind of holiday bundle they put out. I will probably either sell my ps4 or just give it to my brother.

 
I started play xcom for the vita. Man this game runs like ass. Frame rate drops to the point where it's stuttering and you're looking at slideshows. I never really cared for the game's art style but some of the character models turn into pasty blobs. And load times are not fun.

It does contain enemy within content and there are some cool "cheat" settings. It's still fun to play but it just makes me wanna play on my PC at home.

 
Just to chime in about the 20% off coupon, I chatted with Tania at customer service this morning and she codes were going out today and to wait a day or two.  No explanation as to why they didn't arrive within the advertised window.  I bought Headlander and Abzu and she said I was eligible for the coupon, I didn't need to cite transaction numbers or anything.

Kinda bummed because I sold my physical copy of Overwatch a couple weeks ago so that I could use the coupon to get it digitally...

 
I'm sorry for those that didn't get their coupon on time - but this is typical Sony psn crap. If you're dying for 20% digital games it's better to take advantage of eBay deals like $10 off $50 psn cards.

I usually try to do both, fill up my wallet with $150 worth of PSN for $120 and then buy $150 worth of items from my wish list for $120. Double the savings

Yeah, the initial program details said to check email. I've been checking it and my spam folder, though I've never had a PSN email hit my spam. When did you get your code?

Seems like they had two weeks since the last game came out to send them, since it could no longer be 'preordered'... It's not even that big of a thing, and they promoted it! Not sure why it would come out past the date they specified, if not literally the same day the last game was released.

The huge Rumble update hits Rocket League today. A quick list of what it adds (more details on everything here):

  • Rumble Mode - A new version of classic RL with power-ups.
  • Crates - In-game crates will drop that you can purchase keys to unlock special customization items that helps fund future RLCS tournament prize funds. You can turn that part of the inventory system off in the settings if you don't wish to engage with any of this.
  • Player Item Trading - Trade duplicate items or other stuff you don't want with friends for things you do want. Common and Paid DLC items aren't available to trade.
  • Color-based Customization - Instead of having one loadout of customization items on your car that applies to both teams, you can now equip items to appear only when you're on the orange or blue team if you want to better accessorize your items.

Sucks about the 4K UHD Blu-ray thing for those that wanted it, but I'm not interested in upgrading my movies yet again. I'm fine with getting the movies with Ultraviolet codes and streaming them instead of watching off of the disc itself.

Eh, it makes more sense now. Before it was clearly for 'move' type capability with cameras, and despite them saying you could use it for, say, showing health [green to red] it wouldn't work because the player couldn't see it. Now the same light shines through a tiny bit to the top, so it can be used effectively. I'm definitely okay with that. It's not like there's a whole other light, or it's really big or anything.

As long as it turns off after a few seconds or you can turn it off manually then it will be fine. The secondary propose was always for controller identification so a few seconds will be fine. It's still distracting the back of the controller so if it's on all the time it's going to be bad even if it's smaller.

There's a couple games that use it in a suitable way which is fine toi, just let me return it off if it's going to be in my face.

Yep if I ever get one of the newer controllers. I never gave a crap about the light on the back so I definitely don't give a shit about it now. The best thing they ever did was release that update that let you dimmer the back light imo.

Just let me just play my game, I don't need my controller having sound come out from it and flashing stupid lights

I like the sound out of the controller! When used creatively I think it brings a different level of immersion. Its like another aspect they can play with to effect how we experience games.

I agree! So far in my experience Transistor used the speaker and light bar the best. Having the light pulse in sync with the voice of the transistor really helped immerse me in the story.

That is disappointing about the controller. Especially since there's always improvements to be made.

 
I still actively play FO4 and Mods were something I was looking forward to...it really annoys me that they won't ever have any type of mods.

It's mostly cosmetic stuff but still, it's a feature they promised us months ago and now is non existant.
 
Guess I'm weird in that I'm excited for the slight update to the controller.  My TV's wall mounted high up enough that I never see a glare, and every now and then I'll notice that the lightbar is doing something cool related to the game, and it bums me out that I don't usually see that stuff.  I like the idea of that I'll get to see what it's doing better, and I'm not normally gaming in a pitch black room, so I really doubt it's gonna be blinding me while I play.

The PS4 is the PS4, which I believe is still more powerful than the Xbox One S. It's a cheaper to produce version of the PS4 that doesn't change anything about the current experience.

The PS4 Pro is a significant upgrade over the PS4 with a much more improved GPU and improved CPU, as they basically got upgraded versions of the current PS4 components to allow for developers to make their games look and run better along with making it powerful enough to support 4K gaming. I believe it's not doing native 4K rendering for games, as they mentioned using special techniques to achieve that feat without the expensive components to brute force it. Those without 4K HDTVs will get improved visual benefits of better details and framerate.

The games being shown were purely for the visual demo of what the 4K/HDR stuff has to offer, which is why they also mentioned posting the videos later due to the stream not offering the full detail of what they were showing.

This is pretty much what the rumors for the last six months have been saying and they confirmed it. It shouldn't have been a surprise for anybody that paid attention to them.

I need to listen to this week's CAGCast and CheapyD's breakdown, but as someone with a 32-inch 1080p HDTV that's a few years old, it doesn't seem like the improvements are worth a minimum $275 investment (PS4 Pro-GS TIV) for me at this time.

They are not listed on the PSN Store as being compatible, but I'm having issues finding a comprehensive list outside of what Sony says works, because I thought there were some games that worked that aren't listed.

Deus Ex has all the radio communication go through the controller speaker when you don't have a headset plugged in, and that's cool to me.

PS4 TIV at GS just recently dropped from $200 to $125 within the last couple of weeks.
