The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

I recall some people having this trouble with managers. They give a refurb fee for not having a disc case claiming it takes away time away from employees to do their job. I cant find anything about refurb fees on their trade policy. I dont want this new manager to think hes the man and making trade rules on the job so Im not sure whether I should inform the regional manager.

Pull up the trade offer on the website. Says you don't need a case and you'll get the same trade value. So yes you should inform the regional manager.

I've been told this before as well. I drove to another store just minutes away and traded just fine. I did a negative feedback on the first store and included that none of my thousands of dollars I spend a year on video games would be at that store ever again and so far I've stuck to it. Hope that 2 minutes that it would have saved their employee was worth it.
 
Just renewed my sub to Pro yesterday and it still hasn't reflected on my account yet, how long does that usually take? Was hoping to get that wonderful sounding $25 bonus on consoles coupon in my offers (or at least try to trade that B2G1 free used coupon I'm suppose to be getting for renewing).

The B2G1 will show up in two days most likely. I'm not sure about the other stuff.

 
Wow...im just going through some of my old nes collection and Mighty Final Fight is worth almost 40 on gamestops website...and goes for 100 plus on ebay depending on condition...i had no clue

You won't get those $25 bonus coupons most likely.

 
Question about the trade process at GameStop. When doing a trade in and the pop up screen is requesting a signature to finalize , this will in fact finalize and lock in accepting that trade offer? Or after you sign can you add a game deposit like the Pokemon deposit and then get the bonus?
I ask because an employee insisted that I sign before I got the Pokemon bonus , I refused. She said it would of gone through after I signed. GameStop lies?
 
When they put the credit on a trade card or pur card and the receipt prints up that finalizes yhe transaction. Anything before that the employee can go back and retrace whatever.
 
Sorry guys I am on vacation but I was able to patch the system names for the newly added retro stuff. I am re-running the query so most of the systems show up. Still there are some that will say NA since GS has not categorized them, and also there will be some that say Retro that are just categorized as  "Vintage Software" by GS. Also about 150 games still do not have a price or TIV on the website.

 
My home store started selling their retro stuff in store over the summer. Manager said they're supposed to send it all back, but found it was selling really well in store.

Yeah that's bunk. I traded in several games one time, some of which didn't have a case, and while I was wrapping up the trade and chatting the other guy had already started printing the generic artwork for the caseless games...

Don't they have the refurb quotas or was that debunked and sorry retro games are affected by bonuses.

 
I was shot down at two different stores in the Bay Area and was told that retro trades were only at stores in the Midwest at one and that they didn't accept handhelds at the other.
 
I took in a big bundle of stuff I looked up on the retro trades and got $206.

The 40% bonus coupon is strange, it only worked on like 12 of the 25 items I had, but it worked on most of the high price ones so I won't complain. 

Highlights:

Daytona USA championship circuit edition Sega Saturn- $30 base.I had one of these from a thrift store that I paid $2 for. Got $45 after 40% bonus.

A little aside about why they're giving $30 base for this game: Someone is confused about the rarity of the game. There's a very very rare version that was only sold through mailorder to sega that has netlink capability. It sells from $600-$1000+. The regular version is a $10 game complete.

Playstation 1 memory cards show up as $3 each in the app but she couldn't find it in store. She gave me $.75 for them and instead took $10 off my purchase.

Playstation 1 systems get $10

Goldeneye got $12 base which isn't horrible because that game is so common it should cost $10.

I took in a lot of loose PSX discs that were in rough shape that I bought at rummages or years back when gamecrazy was clearing out retro game stock. There were good games like Lunar, Vagrant Story, and Elemental Gearbolt but they were in bad shape and the values weren't too bad for disc only and an easy sale. Nobody buys disc only playstation games. 

They also were too busy telling stories about retro games and joking with me to notice the discs were scratched so i got no refurb fees. Lucky me.

As for the reproductions, I fully expect people to be bringing in their $12 ali express snes games to them for $40 each, lol. Store associates don't know the difference. I wouldn't do it but someone will.

Brought in around 10 retro games and the 40% did not applied. Tried the 40% app coupon and the Pokémon preorder but neither worked. He said maybe the bonus does not applied to retro games. I also traded in Kirby for Wii U and the 40% applied. Did the trade anyways since I wanted to get rid of them. Highlight for Vandal Hearts 2 for $22.

Also the 2 Earthbounds are located at two different gamestops 2 miles from each other. Same person probably scamming gamestop. Here are the stores in LA area if anyone is interested.

1) Whittier And Spence
2) Rosecrans Center

EDIT: Rosecrans Center also has a Mega Man X3 in stock. Wonder if that is fake too.

Definitely fake. Hell, they probably aren't even repros. Some dude probably just took a cheap SNES game, removed the label, and stuck an Earthbound and Mega Man X3 label on there.

Wonder if there's anyway for GS to trace those back to the seller? No way I'd risk that especially since they require ID where I live.

I know I can spot a repo, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if people drop the full amounts on them from GameStop in the future and then find out years later it's fake. I mean, I'm sure massive amounts of pirated pokemon GBA and GBC games are on the way soon just like in the past. They need to release a memo or something.

GS is already flooded with fake pokemon DS games.....

 
I guess after my brother did a retro trade on Tuesday my main account hit the cash limit. I guess my brother called about his account (I know, bad idea) and the guy said the cash limit is $500. He should have taken some credit at the second store but whatever. His account is almost good again though. Might take some systems to a store this weekend and just don't use an account and get credit.
