 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

But why though... Im honestly shocked people buy these.
Well for some of us who have been buying since DVD was THE best medium on the market lots of us still have series we've not completed ion single volume releases yet. In many cases we're down to just one or two volumes missing from a series and it just doesn't make sense to re-buy a complete collection release for more than what single volumes would cost. Even so, there was a time I would have jumped on one of these blind boxes, but am at the point where the budget is beyond tight. I literally blew over 90% of my entire BF/CM sale budget with Sentai these last two months, and am not complaining as the present 80% off DVD sale has been the most amazing anime sale since Bandai Entertainment's U.S. division shuttered.

It actually just dropped to 60 on amazon but I paid less on rightstuf.

Guess it does work that way... just not as much as I wanted.
There's a difference between pre-order price guarantee (Utena, Gundam W), and something that's been out 6 months (Outlaw Star).

lol?

All I was hoping for was a price drop. If I can get a lower price elsewhere before it leaves the return period I'll be happy. Obviously I was not talking about a preorder price correction on rightstuf for an old CE set.

If anyone is interested Outlaw Star had a small price drop 37$ for normal blu ray and 60$ for CE on amazon.

Just shows Rightstuff has horrible sales and prices. I guess they rather keep inventory for months vs actually making sales.

Decided to order the DBZ Blu Rays from Funimation. I was waiting for them to drop to $20 a set then I saw all of them bundled for $160 and took a chance. Hopefully they ship with no problems.

So do we know why Amazon lowered prices on Wing, IBO, and Utena like that?  Are they pricematching someone?

edited to add:

Oh, they're pricematching Target with the 15% off (though I don't see IBO).  So it will only last today.

While I’d love to order Utena at that price, I don’t think it’s worth the hassle of dealing with a probable damaged art box. It’s a shame because I was just thinking about how well Amazon used to pack their items back in around 2001-2009 and then it went to crap because of bubble mailers.

Looks like Amazon put some of the Funimation titles on sale as part of the Deal of the Day. Have to rely on someone else to hyperlink.

I highly recommend all three High School DXD sets to anyone who (likes ecchi but) doesn't already own it yet!

Honestly that whole list is worth buying.  I'd be buying it all if I didn't have most of it already.  I picked up the Haruhi and Steins Gate movies plus Speed Racer.

It's incredible that the entire 700 minute Haruhi series is only $14.99, especially when compared to the damn 162 minute Haruhi movie being $16.99.

Haruhi for $14.99 is enough for me to upgrade from my Season 1 DVD, despite Season 2 only having 7 episodes.

Debating whether I want to upgrade my Disappearance DVD, but I'll probably hold off on that.

Tempted on Haruhi even though I already have both seasons on DVD. I would have no hesitation double dipping on the Lucky Star blus if they ever hit this price.

Is $14 a good price for The Girl Who Leapt Through Time? By today's standards I mean... not compared to before the Funi rescue.

While it's a good film, I never got the desire to rewatch it. And I have the Blu-ray still from when it was north of $100.

This is how I know I buy too much anime, and in particular Dragon Ball.

I was excited that the last few volumes of Kai were on sale on Amazon.  Not remembering what I already had, I went to my shelves. After frantically looking I realized I never bought Kai.  I have the Blu-ray sets and the Dragon Boxes and various movies, I have the manga in the original larger format, in the smaller format, and digitally, but not Kai (or at least not that I can find in my backlog).  Oh well, I guess I'll wait for a bundle deal.

There's a decent chance the non-Majin Buu saga goes on sale for xmas, so I think you might do ok picking up the Majin Buu saga now and waiting for the prices on the rest to drop $10 or more. These are really great prices for the # of episodes.

Cowboy Bebop Amazon LE and Haruhi sold out. Nice to see these two still popular after all these years.

I haven't wanted to rewatch it yet either, so I will pass for now. It really is a great movie though. Love the ending ^^

Evangelion 2.22 good for that price? I've been meaning to get those movies.
I think they are incredible. I'm not even an Evangelion super fan or anything. Much more impactful up-front than the original series; they look fantastic and vibrant on blu-ray on a good HD set.

That's because it's one of the greatest anime movies ever and much better than the series (but you have to watch the entire series first).

Yes yes YES! 2nd best Hosoda film (after Wolf Children ofc), very Ghibli-like. Pretty sure this is the cheapest it has ever been.

Anyone ever get that gift card from Sentai's site with their last sale? I put in an order for $600 and had the code for it, but haven't received the $100 gift card.

I got my $50 one either yesterday or today. I'd email them. They answered me really fast, because it wasn't accepting the code on my $300+ order.

Alright I put in a support ticket for it, checked my spam etc but couldn't find anything. Want to pick up a Boxset lol.

So I just got my Funimation order and it came with Attack on Titan: Before the Fall LN, which I didn't order. Was this a bonus item during the Black Friday sale that everyone got or did they fuck up?
