Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.

If you're into Xbox Prime BC, you may want to grab this KoF at only $2.49. This is a fairly uncommon game and sells for upwards of $30 on eBay. I have yet to come across any copies in the wild yet.

That said, I haven't played it myself so I can't recommend or not recommend it. 3 on 3 battles, but no switching or assists. Reviews of the time recommended it for it's online feature set, which is now gone, and dinged it for a lack of single player content, which sounds like arcade modes without any story. At the very least they all say it has solid combat as KoF usually does.

I'd say only grab it if you're actively interested in fighting games, want something cheap to play locally, or are a BC completionist.

As for other SNK games, the 360 versions of Metal Slug 3 and XX are on sale for cheaper than the Xbox One SNK games, and I'd recommend both of them over Metal Slug 1. Not that 1 is bad, but 3 is the best in the series and XX has a lot of bells and whistles.

Has anyone been able to figure out a way to use Microsoft credit to buy OG Xbox games? You definitely can't do it from the website or an Xbox One. I was wondering if anyone has tried it from a 360 or an app or something.

is this a sale price? i'm surprised it wasn't on my radar because i'm buying all original xbox BC games under $8

Since today's BC Tuesday, any guesses? Mortal Kombat? Binary Domain? Remember Me? Modern Warfare 2? Any of the Lost Planets? Obscure arcade games no one has ever heard of?

Still waiting on Enslaved to be added to BC, especially since Microsoft owns Ninja Theory now. Seems like a no brainer

How does the Prototype Bundle play on Xbox One X.
I would like to know this, as well. There are no YouTube videos to find out.

There is the Digital Foundry look running the original Xbox One hardware and the results were...terrible. But with the raw power of the Xbox One X, I imagine this thing has to be a locked 30fps, right?

Still, I want the bundle at $10; they keep putting it at $17-ish.

At $10, I'd just pull the trigger, put it in my backlog, and call it a day.

Oh hell yes.

I've delayed replaying Underworld because I wanted to replay them in order. TR Anniversary in particular is fantastic.

Maybe Bandai Namco owns the IP as they published the game and is up to them to allow it go BC?

How does Just Cause 3 play on the X? I played it on PS4 but couldn't take the horrible load times and lag. I got through the game and promptly traded it. Hoping some day they would fix it. I even have it for free on PSN but will not ever play it on a base PS4.

Are the load times decent on the X or is it still trash? Did they fix the lag on the X?

I would like to check out the DLC and wouldn't mind playing through the main game again but not if it is still crap slow.

Also in general is the Internal drive on the XBox One X faster or slower then an external drive?
It plays a lot better. The frame rate still drops here and there but it is actually playable on the X.

The Just Cause 3 problems everyone speaks of never happened to me, even when I played it on my Xbox S. I was running through towns blowing everything up and I never had the game slow down on me or crash. I guess I got lucky.

Now if only the anniversary dlc for the other 360 game were to go on sale...
Ha! Been waiting for that forever. Always hated the fact that I got all the achievements in Legend, but it didn’t show 100% because the Anniversary DLC version achievements counted toward Legend. Such BS! They’ll put Anniversary on sale for $2, but if you want to buy it as DLC for Legend, it’s $20. Makes sense.

I’m also in the camp wondering if these will go GwG. I have them on disc, but my 360 stuff is packed away, and the fact that I already have Underworld digital from GwG, it’d be nice to have all 3... hmm...

I can’t believe how spoiled I’ve become, but are the weekly deals going to be summarized in the front page? I’m getting dizzy tracking them down (and am away from home console).

I love TDU as well and thought the sequel would carry the torch. Made the mistake of paying full price for a copy on PS3. Good grief I would barely tap on the brakes in tutorial mode and spin out instantly. Traded it in not too long after it had released and felt like I had been sucker punched in the bread basket.

I went all in on FH2 and the DLC because of how much a physical copy of just the game costs. I think it roughly cost me ~$40 to get everything. My reasoning for it is that I really want to play through the game in its entirety and know that I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. I also picked up the Complete Add-On Collection for FH3 for the same reason. I'll likely play FH4 via GamePass when it's released to get my fix before I buy it.

I'll say this much, I picked up FH1 while it was GwG and barely played it so far. Even just that little bit was enough to get me hooked on the Horizon franchise. Hopefully you'll enjoy playing FH3 when you get around to it.
I decided to fire up FH2 to see if I'd like it enough to drop the $10 on the two DLC's I was looking at. Turns out the game won't run. Crashed before even launching the first time, then either just crashed randomly right after pressing A for the first time, or freezing then crashing at some point after the controls screen, usually at a black screen. So, guess I'm just going to uninstall it and never play it.

I might grab Battlefield at $6. I guess they're trying to milk the last bit of money they can before people start looking toward BFV. Sell this and Battlefront II dirt cheap now, add them to EA Access in the next couple months, and I guess bank on people giving a shit about V and its Royale mode even after the fairly negative reception so far.
Battlefield 1 is already on EA Access. It was added last year.

I started playing the MP again since I just re-upped my Access and all the DLC went free. I'm terrible at it.

There’s is no way anyone played JC3 on an X1S and had no frame rate problems
I don't think anyone said "no" frame rate problems. But frame rate has always been something I can tolerate if it's brief or intermittent. The overall game is not that bad as far as frame rate issues and only certain areas are significantly noticeable, but even then just shortly. Granted, most of the playtime that me and my kids had with it was after some of the patches came out.

I can deal with frame drop too but this literally turned into a slideshow for me when everything was blowing up and shooting at me.

They will be, as priorities allow. For now, the link to Major Nelson's blog post for the sale is at the top of the first page.

Somewhere in CAG is a setting to have a certain number of posts per page. I did it long ago and it's really helpful. You should be able to find the deals pretty quick then.

Well on that note I better check later on to see if it'll work for me. I shelled out $12 for the 10th Anniversary Ultimate Edition during the E3 sale. I would hate to find out that won't launch because of errors and such.
