Lol, I figured I'd get some more expensive games that I might eventually play from tremor instead of a ton of cheap card crap.  But I was 60 coins short of the final game.  Did a few things to get the coins, now the game is OOS.

Back to the cheap card games I guess.

Kotaku - Jason Schreier on "The Past, Present, and Future of Diablo:"
https://kotaku.com/the-past-present-and-future-of-diablo-1830593195

This is a long article and one hell of a read - about a cancelled Diablo game (Hades, a Souls-like 3rd person over-the-shoulder ARPG), the current Diablo project code-named Fenris (which probably will be Diablo 4), the cancelled 2nd expansion pack for Diablo 3, "Incubation" department, Diablo: Immortal, and more.

A bunch of bullet points and whatnot here under the spoilers, for those willing to read the long-list spoilers.
- 11 anonymous sources, past and present, from Blizzard talked to Jason, over the years.
- Sources have given information about Diablo projects (cancelled, ongoing, etc); Activision; Blizzard; and whatnot.
- Around late 2013 to early 2014, Team 3 (the team behind Diablo) finished up Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls (which was beloved by fans, fixing a lot of D3 base's issues).
- Team 3 planned a 2nd expansion, but it was cancelled.
- Their bosses wanted Diablo 4 (Diablo IV).
- A lot of that team was not happy about this.
- Some of Team 3 was moved to another project w/ Blizzard, left the company, or stuck around to work on Diablo 4.
- One version of Diablo 4 being worked on was code-named Hades.
- Hades was an over-the-shoulder ARPG like that of Dark Souls (and not an isometric ARPG like D3).
- At some point, it was even thought they would not even brand this game as a Diablo game b/c it was not like Diablo in so many ways.
- Team 3 got split again; some moved on, some left, some stuck around.
- Team 3 that stuck around, they either worked on D3: Rise of the Necromancer DLC or a new project code-name Fenris.
- Fenris is, right now still, the current incarnation of Diablo 4 that is still in development.
- Fenris is also said to be very dark and a lot more like Diablo 2, in terms of the gothic and dark aspects of the art-work & characters.
- Plan for Fenris is not to be cartoony in any shape or fashion.
- Fenris is also said to have social and MMO aspects, such as strikes like Destiny 2 and instances like WoW.
- They were supposed to have a demo ready for D4 by May (2018), but didn't.
- Some of the development team said D4 was supposed to at the least be teased at BlizzCon, but that didn't happen.
- Developers not with D4's team said it was never planned for D4 at BlizzCon to be there in any form.
- One of the theories why it wasn't announced: b/c Titan MMO was announced and never released; and that specter still haunts them.
- Also, it doesn't help that StarCraft: Ghosts is another one that was announced and also never released.
- Some Blizzard vets wanted to so something different and/or were burnt out on doing big 7-10 year games, so they are at a new department called "Incubation."
- Wyatt Chang is one of those and is lead on Diablo: Immortal w/ NetEase.
- Diablo 3 was released in China as F2P and has made a killing in their market w/ MTX's.
- Some dev's have said that China really wants this game and that it's really built for them.
- Blizzard is looking to expand games globally across all markets now, which is why Diablo: Immortal is also coming to the West.
- Incubation is also working on a Warcraft-based Pokeman Go style mobile game.
- In Spring 2018, CFO Amrita Ahuja decided that they all needed to save money and cut costs for the first time in the company's history.
- In 2016, Overwatch was a smash hit (and was a major salvaging of some stuff from Titan, which costed Blizz and Acti a fortune)...
- ...But in 2018, weak performance from Destiny 2 & Blizzard not putting out much of anything new has caused all kinds of shake-ups in positions and intervening from Activision.
- Some Blizz dev's feel like w/ crossover characters in different games (not something Blizz normally does) and non-Acti games at Battle.Net, a lot of Activision & Blizz are getting closer and closer together.
- October 2018, Blizzard lost their Co-Founder Mike Morhaime (who was beloved, by the studio) and was replaced.

If you haven't used the eBay coupon yet, there's AMD Bundle cards for $35 so just under $30 after coupon. You'll need someone with a 570/580 to activate for you. $15 each for Division 2, Resident Evil 2 and/or DMC 5 ain't nothing to complain about.
That code came super fast. I should send that ebay seller some kisses, too. Now to locate the lucky 570/580 owning so and so who'll help me activate...

But then it's 2x the price again. Unless you're working with large files like video editing, I'd be curious how big of an effect you'll even see.
Also m.2 is only better if its an actual NVMe, and not an ssd slapped on to an m.2 board, in which case you just get normal ssd speeds. There are a ton of those out there. Usually the price diff will tell you that though, but best to compare r/w speeds

Hence I didn’t see what he posted.......the m.2 is $145 after tax the Samsung 1tb is $12X before tax...

The m.2 is infinitely better than the Samsung especially for the price.

That’s not the case with the HP. It’s faster than the Samsung sSd

ERMAGERD DER ERRRM TWOOOOOO

No clue what mobo I'm getting so no clue if it has a slot for EERRM TERRRWOOO. Also I'm sure the difference is negligible to normal humans not possessed of demigod senses.

It’s noticeable if you’re using it for games. Almost every new mobo has m.2

Well, fuck. Just got my "derp we fuck ed a price and now revoking and refunding your order derp" email from Humble. After wasting the data to download the whole game, no Cthulhu for me. Don't know what else I was expecting from Humble (the shitty bundle and key selling trash fire that resides in a dead hooker's crotch) Store.

^ It's about a $60 difference between X and no X. Although I'm not someone who is tech savy enough to overclock with platnum grills so the more 'push button to start' simple it is, the better. Even then, would it be a noticeable difference? Both the X and non X come with the Wraith cooler. And, I guess, how much of a difference are those over the 5 2600's?

I'm seeing the Ryzen 7 2700X for around $310 at Amazon. The 2700 is only $250. Although that's without factoring in tax which I believe Amazon now collects in most states.

For review, the prices on Amazon as of right now are:

7 2700X: $310
7 2700: $250
5 2600X: $190
5 2600: $160
Thanks. I ordered the 2700x from bestbuy on sale and can return in 45 days if I dont like it so i may stick with it. If not I may get the 2600x. Mostly for gaming so I'm not sure what's the cutoff for gaming without wasting money. How is the mobo?

That's a good mobo. Like the look of it. Was going to get an MSI myself but I got a good deal on an ASUS. My only concern is only 4 SATA ports, but I have a shitload of drives in mine. You probably don't need that many. Has an M2 port too for future.

Finally got a case. I used the Ebay coupon and bought an open-box version of my favorite unicorn battleship.  It came out to $176 shipped so I had to try it.  The listing is ambiguous, but it says RGB in the title so it better have the 3x Corsair Light Loop fans and the fan hub controller.  That's the majority of the value of this package and the difference between this model and the normal 500D.  I usually don't gamble on used listings like this.  Wdyt are the chances that I get screwed?  I'm thinking about 3 outta 10, in which case it would be returned immediately.

3 out of 10 sounds about right. With something like that there's no way to confirm aside from asking the seller beforehand. Even then, the seller might be clueless about the fans so you could ask for a close up picture of the fans.

Hope it works out though because return shipping could be rough.

Is it wrong I get like $50 cases?
Not at all. I try to be like you. But the case is like the one part of my core cpu that I stare at and interact with every day. I keep it for a long time, look at it every day, and I can't help the way that I feel. You may or may not remember my autistic case rant from a few weeks ago. I tried to look for $50 cases, but I've spent a grip already and decided that it has to be something that I'm happy with.

These feelings, Moobs.

Jackbooted Humble goons took away my videogame. I tried to shoot them to protect my property but was dismayed to find it did nothing against digital spirits. Don't neglect on holy water, kids. You think you're okay without it and then it bites you in the ass.

I got my case at Goodwill. It was a $400 Coolermaster Cosmos II that they had for $100.

Otherwise, I usually get cheaper cases. They have some neat looking ones in the $50 range.
I get excited when my Goodwill has playable PS2 games. If I ever found a decent tower, I'd probably shit myself and pass out onto the filthy floors.

When I go to Goodwill all I find is a pack of wild hyenas ferociously tearing through women's used clothing and a home goods section that smells like sadness.

My Goodwill's computer section is a staggering array of old USB Type-B Standard cables, 15 year old inkjet printers and a heap of PS/2 eMachine keyboards.

On the plus side, if you ever need a 13" LCD monitor that still somehow weighs 35lbs, I can totally hook you up.

IT HAS LASERS!

Sucks that it's being revoked given that it was still being sold at something of a cost, instead of games that are accidentally sold for mere pennies. Given the publisher in question, I'm sure this game will end up in a Humble Monthly somewhere down the line.

I was refreshing websites and ordering console games while darting in and out of traffic walking back to my car from a basketball game.  I feel like this is dangerously close to becoming someone who actually understands wtf the people in the console threads are talking about, which I usually do not.  Either that or camping out for a TV at Best Buy or something.

Man, there's just nowhere else to find Dragon Quest XI for less than $42 besides Steam itself, is there....? After I get done with tax, I'm at ~$45...and that's no bueno.

Frustrating that it isn't one of those games that has keys all over the place.  Seems its just Steam, Humble Bundle, and GreenManGaming only.

Just hold up a minute. Squenix games get dropped almost as much as the regulars in this thread were as kids.

$35 or less come Christmas. Quote me.

The western games do, the japanese ones don't. Some of them don't drop below 50% off. Probably why Dragon Quest hasn't dropped much.

Yeah, I hear ya. Its just that I don't often get four days in a row to do my own thing....

That's makes me ask myself the age old question: how much is continuous free time worth, especially when I have enough games in my backlog? :joystick:
