Anyone here who hasn't used their Dark Souls: Remastered coupon from owning PTD? I ask because it's 50% off now and I'm curious if the coupon brings it down to free. I used mine when it was 40% off over the summer so I can't check myself.

It is 100% off, but cannot be purchased.

Heh, the steam sale has a $5 coupon that you can get with 5k tokens. They have quests to get tokens, but you'd need to do 50 quests to get the coupon and there's currently 19 quests and they're adding 1 new one each day.

Nearly bought Into the Breach during the last Steam Sale. Been playing it for the last couple hours, really enjoying it. Excited for Towerfall tomorrow, never played it but I enjoyed Celeste. I'm travelling over the Holidays now so doing all my gaming on my kickass ultra gamerz gaming laptop aka MacBook Pro. All these games are screaming on my integrated Intel graphics chip.

Thankfully Epic never has a good deal or freebie that I want or do not already have so I don't need to even think about it.

Why is everyone so loyal to Steam anyway, what has Steam or Valve done for any of us lately. They were good like 10 years ago, but now ... it’s basically loyalty out of the long term investment, and they know it and have gotten incredibly lazy/stingy.

Been loving the free Epic games. Numerous times that I've nearly bought something on Steam only to have it go free on Epic. Hardly ever bother buying anything on Steam anymore since I figure it might go free on Epic before I get a chance to play it.

Been playing the free Epic games more than anything other than my mains. Have hardly touched anything I've gotten on Humble bundles this year because the free Epic games have been so much better.

I feel no loyalty to Steam whatsoever.  I've been buying stuff on Origin, GOG and Uplay for years.  Sweeney is just an asshole and I despise him and his company.  Same with Gearbox.  Acti/Bliz as well,  honestly more because they just pump out garbage now rather than the various ethical reasons to avoid them.

There is not much I'm interested in that I haven't already gotten last month on Steam or this month on GoG. Epic's return of the $10 subsidy is actually tempting. Just remember you can only buy one game at a time and don't buy too many back to back or they'll flag you as a scammer. From the web page, they give you the coupon once you click on the free game or click a button on the coupon page. After you buy a game, they send you another coupon for another game and so on. The coupon will expire on May 1st 2020 which might be saying something about how well things are going sales wise.

Satisfactory for $16.95 and MechWarrior5 for $39 may get me to break my boycott.

Heh, Blizz has never put out anything close to garbage and put out the 2 best games that came out this year imo: Dalaran Heist and Tombs of Terror.

COD: MW is the most played COD on consoles this generation and was the fastest selling PC COD ever. Sekiro won game of the year at the Game Awards.

I understand you're just expressing your opinion, but man, garbage is pretty harsh when Acti/Blizz quality hasn't really changed over the years.

You mean, other than:

-improved library

-improved search

-remote play together

-deep dive function

-interactive recommendations system

-micro-trailers function

-announced a new VR game (that allows even competitor's equipment to play)

Meanwhile, Epic Games Store can't even manage a shopping cart.

I promise to make steam sales like they were under Obama and to make sure TrumpCat is banned from CAG if you elect me!!!!

I'm annoyed that I made a "group" chat with someone who hasn't been on in years and it won't just give me the damned achievement.  I used to be in ya'lls chat but who knows... maybe it moved on.  But it's crazy that I was just thinking Epic sale is better....

Sekiro was a great game, yes.  I give FromSoftware the credit for that though.  Meh at the rest.  Especially Hearthstone.

If anyone's Discovery Queue breaks because of a demo, you can manually search for the demo and ignore it through the search results by clicking the little chevrons icon over the game's mini-banner art.

Hope this is alright to post, but my games are on sale in the winter sale:

Emerald Shores 75% off ($2.49) https://store.steampowered.com/app/970470/Emerald_Shores/

Super Blackout 80% off ($0.99) https://store.steampowered.com/app/992970/Super_Blackout/
Hey, a deal is a deal.

That dudes not fondling someone so he can't be the real Biden cat.
You don't know what he's doing with that other hand. . . it's probably giving someone a back rub.

So, for those buying Ubi games on EPIC Store...

...Do they just give you a key and then you activate it over UPLAY service and not have to deal w/ Epic Store?

Or do you have to hoop-jump - you buy  the Ubi game on Epic; have to use Epic Store to boot-up your Ubi game; then booting the game jumps you into UPLAY; the game boots up; and then you get nailed w/ a UPLAY double service whammy?

I've done that before but the demos and DLC don't disappear from the queue.

What I found works well is changing queue settings, e.g. I uncheck "early access", let the queue repopulate, then change that setting back.

Steam in 2019, everyone.

Strange. It works for me.

When the demos first started messing up my queue I actually searched "demo" in the store and ignored them all. A few still sneak through.

Looks like tomorrow's free Epic game is Towerfall.

Epic sale seems pretty good. Coupon is a little confusing though. $10 coupon which says it's good for all eligible $14.99 and above games. Not sure if eligible just refers to having to be 14.99 or if there's other exclusions. Also, they say they give you 1 coupon, but after every purchase you get another. Seems like an overly complicated way to do it.

A couple nice deals I noticed initially are Division 2 for $5, Breakpoint for $14 and Superliminal for $6.

Oh, cool, just saw that the coupon is good until 5/1/20. That explains why they did it the way they did .

Heh, decided to actually read the faq on this page: https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/promotion/holiday-sale-2019

Other ineligible purchases for the coupon include all dlc and anything unreleased
Bleh @ DLC's, Season Passes, and Unreleased stuff is not eligible.

That possibly could make it more worthwhile here to buy Gold or Ultimate Editions here for certain games( in which those type of editions often have extra DLC's, Season Passes, Expansion Passes, etc etc).

EDIT:

Don't know if it's me, but is there really anything worthwhile in Div 2's Y1 Pass or Crew 2's Pass? Sure doesn't seem like it. Seems like you can go Standard w/ Div 2 and Crew 2...and not be missing much.

Not only that, Epic is only giving free games away to get people invested into the ecosystem. It isn't out of the kindness of their heart. They are also tossing large amounts of money to developers to launch exclusively on the Epic store. Epic themselves said that they cannot sustain this spending forever. The free games will stop and less exclusives will be bought out once they have enough people locked in.

Steam has been fair overall. They don't strong arm or buy exclusivity to their store. They support my Oculus Rift and is fully compatible with their Steam VR game library. It's more open than the Oculus store. I still buy from Uplay, Origin, and Battle.net every so often, but Steam is more convenient for me.

I'll never support Epic. I played Fortnite for a week, didn't like it, and never logged back in since. They don't bring anything to the table that I can't get somewhere else.

If you like Epic, that's fine, it's just not for me.

No offense, but at least half of that is inconsequential to actually playing the games. I don’t need a system to predict what I like and if it costs $10 less, I can search a little harder for it. I get what you’re saying, but Steam has been coasting for awhile.

Coasting? Maybe. At least it's consistent and has been stable for some time now. Other stores have opened but none are as expansive as Steam. Even EA games are coming back to Steam. Microsoft is releasing games on Steam as well. Steam Family share is also a feature that should be mentioned.

And I usually can get 8-15 percent off of a new Steam release from Green Man Gaming.

So is there any reason to bother with the 'event?'  Could I even get the 5,000 tokens needed for the $5 discount doing the quests or is it just a waste of time?

Quest page says you can get up to 2000 for free. So you'll need to spend $30 to get enough for the coupon.

So in the end it's like that Lunar New Year promotion they ran earlier this year where you'd get a $5 coupon for spending $30. Except here you need to do a bunch of other BS as well.

Don't make me ask another country to investigate you Sleepy Joe! You're corrupt and want to undrain the swamp. Everyone knows it! If you're listening Zimbabwe, you really need to start an investigation on the BidenCats. They do terrible things. Terrible, let me tell you. Every country should investigate the BidenCats, and get their emails! Remember Benghazi!

And pre-existing wallet funds do not count. Steam says screw the money you already have in our system, we want NEW money from you.

I know this is a quibble.. but if Steam makes it any harder to simply see what games I have installed on my computer, I might lose my mind.

Seriously, stop messing with what I know.  I'm too old to learn something new and I'm very grouchy that I couldn't easily delete something from my library, I had to hunt down the correct tree settings to find it.

Screw that.

Weren't you impeached?

Okay, Day 3 or 4, who's counting? (Don't answer that.) What are we featuring? Action games of all stripes, as well as Day 2's sloppy seconds.

Did you ever find the little "play icon" next to the search bar in the client that allows you to toggle between "installed/ready to play" and "all games"?

Why do you always ask questions about such tasty animals? Now I need a snack and I'm trying to stay in shape so I stay looking exactly like StalloneCat shirtless.
