Humble Bundle Thread

There's one day left to grab the Humble Lego bundle.  I didn't have either of the Lego Marvel games or Lego DC Super-Villains or the Lego Batman 3 DLCs, so I said, "Hey, why not for $10?"

It's very clear they want to start making money from the bundles, and that they haven't been. The same reason why the bundles have been getting shittier and shittier, and far and fewer in between.

I don't think I've ever bought any of the Humble Bundle massive game bundles. This one has quality, but rebundled quality and some like Saints Row The Third should be the new version. Not touching it, but at least 100% of purchases go to charity.

Nothing DRM-free = no thanks.

I splurged on the Humble Spring Sale instead and bought the following since they had DRM-free versions.

A Fistful of Gun

A Wizard's Lizard

Escape Goat

Luftrausers

Rayman Origins

Where Is My Heart

There is a "prologue" for Fantasy General 2 on Steam or GoG if you want to try a demo of the game. Bundle has me tempted for that and the Thea games. Neoverse was a March 2020 Choice game. Cultist Simulator was sometime last year too.

Anyone have any idea why Thea: The Awakening says it has trading cards, and they apparently exist but Idle Master won't idle it and running the game isn't dropping cards? It's a very weird situation  :whistle2:k

EDIT: Nevermind, cards finally started dropping after 7 hours. Jesus ... I don't think I've had a game take this long to drop cards

Got an offer for $8/month for the next 3 months of Choice. Kinda tempted, but there's nothing this month I really want. Metro looks cool, but I didn't bother playing it when it was on XGP and have barely played the previous 2. I was interested in Vane and then remembered that it was an Amazon freebie and I never played it.

2 new bundles are up:

  • Rising Storm 2: Vietnam Bundle.
  • Guilty Gear Bundle.

Also looks like Humble changed the design & lay-out of the bundles. Meh.

I think the old design was more clear-cut and solid.

This...means you need to click through a few times, to see what each tier adds & whatnot (when you go up) or what you're left with if you work in reverse here (to go from higher to lower tiers). Meh.

Yeah, the new format sucks ass. Figures.

The layout looks like Indiegala X Fanatical, which isn't a good thing. Also the new bundles look like Fanatical bundles, which also isn't a good thing. Not great changes for sure.

The thing is, I’m almost certain I could have gotten the entire Guilty Gear bundle on Fanatical for under $7 between various bundles and sales. And probably more besides.

I'm guessing that Cultist Simulator on the Deckbuilding bundle is the last DRM-free game that Humble will ever offer in a bundle since everything in the Guilty Gear bundle and the Rising Storm 7 bundle is Steam keys.

Hard pass.

If anyone gets the Guilty Gear bundle, can you post if the Deluxe version of Revelator in the bundle includes the non-Rev 2 DLCs? They have the Deluxe version listed but the MSRP and contents listed only match the regular version.

That's gotta be the first time where one of the games is GOG only. And it's not like the game isn't available on Steam.

Panzer Paladin and Going Under look neat but nothing else interests me much.

Civ IV, Going Under and Ikenfell for me.

Still bummed I didn't pause last month, because there was nothing I wanted in it. Feel free to make offers.

If you were on the $6/mo for 6 months plan and last month's bundle was your 6th bundle there's a chance you still have the coupon in your Humble account and it MAY work for this bundle (effectively making it the 7th month).

My coupon was listed as expiring June 4th so I went to claim one of the games from this Monthly Choice and it took the $6 off for me so I got this month's bundle for $6 plus tax.  I imagine it worked since I unlocked and paid for the bundle right away while the coupon was still technically valid.

Just an FYI in case anyone was interested.

Between the Civilization DLC and Stubbs the Zombie that definitely seems like $12 in value … Civilization expansion are normally $20 to $30 a pop, so you can’t fault it for not being a good value if you have any interest in Civilization.

Edit - Just looked and both expansions are around $10 on sale currently, so still a great value when you compare $12 to $20 for both on Steam.

Well, now I'm sad I didn't try that before cancelling my subscription on that account. At least I can still try to get the pause discount on my Classic account.

I like a good hustle as much as the next guy but I don't really want this stuff for six bucks either (but I already owned Civ 6 from Games Republic glitch way back when)

Fwiw, the Civ 6 from the glitch doesn't include the second expansion, Gathering Storm, which is included in the Platinum Edition.

Yeah, but I played Civ6 in the years since it launched and don't see me taking the time to go back. Not saying it's a bad deal (for $6) but it's not for me since Civ6 is a "played and done" game in my mind.

Civ 6 and Stubbs are the only standouts for me. I've never even heard of the other games, aside from secret neighbor which is a dead MP game. I didn't get the Civ glitch years ago so this is barely worth it for me

Eh, its not horrible, mostly because I have the base version of Civ6. This is about what I would pay if drunk enough to get the two expansions and the few other dlc nations they have in the plat. edition. Not that I'm a big fan of Civ6, both it and 5 have been a step down from 4.

The other stuff is all games I might play briefly but wouldn't spend money on, so the perfect bundle fodder I guess. The Desolate survival horror game looks decent, that was actually in my wishlist.

Scratch that... this bundle is awesome. Milkyway Prince: The Vampire Star. A visual novel that I'm sure will captivate me... into Going Under  desolate disjunction enough to actually install effien ikenfell.

Pretty rough month. The $6 price was still active for me so I figure thats a decent enough price for the two Civ VI expansions, but really not interested in anything else. Very mediocre overall.

Hopefully they run another 6 for $6 promotion sometime, that price actually makes each month worth it.

Been waiting for Ikenfell and Stubbs and some others look good. Milky Way Prince is on my wishlist too I think. I sacrificed for both Civilization 6 and Going Under. Going Under is worth beating, but gets very repetitive making it a great bundle game. Not amazing otherwise.

Other than Civ 6 this is basically a Fanatical-tier bundle.
Fanatical bundles don't have games that are less than a year old.

I mean, Ikenfell was an indie darling for a while. Going Under is a game I've almost pulled the trigger on a few times. Admittedly the rest I either have little interest or don't know about, but in this day and age, it is a solid bundle. They even managed to not stiff us on DLC for the headliner.

Already have Civ VI so definitely a pass for me unless I can find someone who's looking just for that.
I would take you up on that but I just noticed Platinum doesn't include all the DLC. Five years down the line and they are still milking thins thing. I'll wait for the Mega-Platinum or Diamond or Cubic Zirconium edition.
