Given Circuit City's demise this shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but my lawyer just informed me that the Circuit City v. Speedy1961 matter is officially concluded. Circuit City filed an order of Nonsuit, which I guess means they've withdrawn their case. At least Speedy got some good news to go along with the bad news from last month.

In case you missed it in his weekly thread, Speedy1961 is the latest victim of this crummy economy. He was laid off last week and will no longer have early access to the Sunday ads. I hope you will join me in thanking speedy for his incredible dedication to making game shopping easier for all of us.

Since June 2006, Speedy has spent a huge amount of time and effort to compile, post, and give us an early sneak peak at the video game ads. Even though Speedy is not much of a gamer, week after week he continued to supply CAG with this information. His only motivation being the appreciation and thanks he received from his fellow CAGs, which was manifested in the form of 3 Cheapy Award victories. In July 2007, Speedy's postings brought about a legal action from Circuit City when he scooped the world on the PS3 price drop. Even this, which surely must have been a traumatic experience, did not deter him from continuing his efforts.

Speedy, you've done a great service for me personally, the CAG community, and gamers all over the USA. I'm sure I'm not alone when I wish you the best of luck and remind you that you've got a lot of friends here...forever.
