This deal isn't God awful; you just have to be selective with what you trade in. For example, if you can find a used Blast Works and Resident Evil IV, Wii Edition at a gamestop you could get them for $11.70 each (25% coupon + edge), so for a $60 game (from their selected list) you could get it for $43.39 or get a $50 game for $33.39 - a savings of about 28% or 33% respectively. Unsure if you could stack (though I imagine not) a 10% off new games (slick flyer from selected markets) to take off another $6 or $5 respectively to make the savings even more. Also, if you got in on the $9.99 blast works from BB and the "clearanced" Ghost Squad from Target you could really make out.

Thanks OP, if I can get the 10% off coupon to stack with this I am definitely in - if not I may still give it a go.

My problem this time isn't what to trade in, it's what I'd want to get. The only game on that list that remotely interests me is Ninja Gaiden 2, and I don't want it THAT bad.

How often do they update the list of games this is good for? Once a month?

Any chance of getting a game from the list, sitting on it for < 30 days, returning it UNOPENED and getting the game you want? I remember one of the deals last year was trade in (virtually) any 2 wii games and you get a new wii game (49.99 and under). I traded in for a game, immediately told them I didn't want it; had them credit me back for the amount of the game and placed a preorder for eternal sonata - zero problems. Probably YMMV on that one, but just a thought.

Probably possible - though with the potential for lots of hassle.

It's funny you should mention that trade 2 Wii games get a new one free promo because that kind of puts this one to shame ;). I made good use of that and got all kinds of preorders. I then switched most of those to other things. I finally just used up the last one recently so I got some good mileage out of it.

No kidding. That was a great deal. It was made even better when Micro Center had games for $9.99 during that time. Nice.

This is a kind of meh deal compared with flipping the 25% off Wii games to Blockbuster/Gamerush and getting a game I might actually WANT for the cost of the flipped games in most cases.

But thanks for posting it nonetheless, deneem4.

Was bored and looked at the list at GS after work today, I noticed RE4 and thought to myself, with the current coupon and its recent price drop, you might actually make something from this. Of course, its a bit of work, and theres nothing on the list that I dont have already or really want.

Nothing to see here, move along!

I was a weakling, just getting my CAG sea legs when that promo started out. I only used that twice - at the same time - with 4 sealed copies of "meet the robinsons" from the CC clearance ($12.96 ea). Total spent was like $53. I traded in 2 copies for Mario Party 8 - which I sold to a friend at work for face value ($50) - this essentially covered the cost of my "meet the robinsons" fiasco. I used the other 2 and traded in for Trauma Center, gave it right back to them and said put it on Eternal Sonata ($50 credit)- they were perplexed, but complied none the less. This put me about $13 out of pocket for Eternal Sonata - however I got a free faceplate with purchase that I turned around and sold for $20+ on ebay. So when said and done I got Eternal Sonata for free and made around $7 to boot(probably just above breaking even when you figure in tax/ebay fees). All that is left is to reminisce of those type of deals because I don't think we'll be seeing them anymore; at least not anytime in the near future.

I picked up blast works and RE4 today at gamestop for $23.38 in store credit (coupon + edge); I'll fess up the $19.99 (possibly $13.99 if I can get them to stack the 10% off new game coupon - *select markets only*) to get Revolution for $37.36 in store credit. I'll probably sit on the game until Mercenaries 2 comes out then take back Revolution (unopened) to get Mercenaries 2. If they won't let me stack the 10% with the promo, I'll just use the 10% off when I pick up Mercs 2 netting the same outcome ($37.36). Hell, I may do this multiple times to pick up a few upcoming titles for the Wii too - just depends how brave I am (not looking to trade in more than 1 of any title on the list).
