Got a look at the ad today and the only game deals are Dragon Quest IX related.

All week long you get a $15 gift card for buying Dragon Quest IX. Dragon Quest IX will cost $34.99.

For Sunday 7/11 only, you get a $25 gift card for buying Dragon Quest IX and any DSi XL (burgundy, bronze, or blue) together. Blue DSi XLs are releasing on 7/11 with Dragon Quest IX.

The gift cards being given out should be promotional gift cards that activate the day after your purchase. They should also have an expiration of 1/31/2011.

That's it for the game deals that week. Good for Dragon Quest fans, I know I'll be picking it up at Toys R Us if nothing better pops up at another store.

The only DQ game I've played was the original on the NES....so I've missed quite a lot, is this one going to be worthwhile? I always wanted to play a newer one, especially the DS ones, but never did.

I'm pretty sure it was listed at $34.99, the website has it for that price. The gift card deals are usually in-store only. I will double check the info next time I get the chance.

@ donnums: I played the 4 that were released on NES and they got me hooked to RPG's in general. Haven't played any other release since but am told the gameplay isn't all that different. If i am not mistaken it is bigger in japan than Final fantasy
