It's that time again. The 3rd Humble Indie Bundle is live now. Pay what you want and the money goes to charity, the people who put this on, and the indie devs. You can decide how your payment gets split between the different entities. The games are DRM free and available on PC, Mac, and Linux. After purchase you will get keys to unlock the games on both Steam and Desura.

The games in this bundle are:

  • Crayon Physics Deluxe
  • Cogs
  • VVVVVV
  • Hammerfight
  • And Yet it Moves
  • Steel Storm: Burning Retribution (Added 8/1)
  • Atom Zombie Smasher (Added 8/5)
Be generous!

Humble Bundle

The sale ends on Aug 9th.

Update:
If you buy the bundle (or have already bought it) you can play Minecraft for free until August 14th. Go your bundle page (you can find the link in your confirmation email), click Minecraft, then redeem, then apply to my Minecraft account. Obviously you'll need a Minecraft account to take advantage, but the account is free.

Update 2:
Another game has been added to the bundle. Steel Storm: Burning Retribution. If you already purchased the HIB #3 you do not need to buy again to get this new game. It's already been added to your download page. You can get the link to it from your confirmation email. It's a Steam game, but it isn't available there yet as part of the bundle. @humble said on twitter that they are working on getting it added to Steam and Desura. Once/If they get that worked out, it will most likely just show up on your Steam list. It should now be on your Steam list. If you aren't seeing it yet either restart Steam or search for the game on the store and you should see a Play Now button.

Update 3:

Humble Indie Bundle #2 has been added for people who bought the bundle prior to this addition. Steam and Desura keys are included. Anyone who buys the bundle going forward must pay more than the average to get HIB #2 as well. It's currently rising due to this, so keep that in mind if you have limited funds that you can spend.

HIB #2 includes:

  • Braid
  • Cortex Command
  • Machinarium
  • Osmos
  • Revenge of the Titans
Update 4:
Another game has been added.

Atom Zombie Smasher

It's available on both your download page and from your Steam library.

Nice. I already own three of those though so I'll decide whether I want to grab this later on.

Paid $6. I figure I'd pay $2 per game I don't own, and I already own 2 of them.

Hard to say no, but I already own 3/5. Still seems worth the average donation though.

I know it says donate what you want, but considering how generous these bundles are time after time, if you give less than $5, you're not a cheapassgamer, you're a meanypantsgamer

FINALLY a bundle without any games that I already own!

(In for $10. Gotta keep the Mac average donation higher than the PC average. ;))

True CAGs are not cheap when it comes to charity. Let's pull up that average, everyone! I denoted most of mine to Child's Play and the EFF. All you sub $1 trolls can eat my shorts.

Well considering the average Windows user is currently giving like $3.60ish, that must mean a majority of us are meanypantsgamers. I have no problem only giving a couple of bucks as a donation, as I already own all of the games (some of them on multiple services). I am just happy that people are willing to give anything.

I was really hoping, since there's less than 5000 bundles sold, that I could be inb4 whining about not giving enough. But I see I didn't make it. Sad.

Anyway, I already own 3 of the games, so I don't know if I'm gonna pick this up or not. One thing I'm wondering, is they say there's new achievements for And Yet It Moves, do those of us who already have the game get the update?

Off Topic: What's your avatar Lazy? Looks familiar.

On Topic: Even though I have 60% games owned, I will donate to Child's Play.

Donated. I love these things. hopefully this topic won't be like the last indie bundle topic. There was so much arguing about what people thought should donate. lets hope it won't be like that again.

Just bought VVVVVV during the Steam sale for $2.50, but this has Crayon Physics in it - which I loved the demo, and almost bit at $5. Great list of games - picking up as soon as I get home!

I am one of those folks that love the Humble Bundles - sucker for good causes. Donating definitely can be fun.

I agree - let's keep the thread on topic this year. It's obvious that these bundles are a huge success (as proven by the repeated bundles offered year-after-year). Most folks that buy these (like me), most likely would not have purchased these games (and even the first Humble Bundle I bought remains untouched in Steam), so any money donated is better than no money.
