Amazon has the preorder bonus for the vita version of Virtue's Last Reward up. According to the image it should apply to the 3DS version as well but it doesn't say anything on the 3DS page yet.

For the uninitiated, the watches from the last game in the series, 999, went for as high as $150 on ebay. A completed listings search shows that they're still selling for as high as $130 right now.

One of the Aksys rep's on NeoGAF confirmed it's still a watch. But I do agree with you that there will probably be more than last time. Random color kinda sucks too. Argh, I have to leave now. Hope it's up by the time I get back.

To clarify, it functions as a watch, they're just called bracelets in the game (confirmed by aksys rep). The colors also only refer to the LED colors, not the color of the watch body.

I just preordered the Vita version so I could get the watch. I sold 5 of the originals for around 100 each. I bought 6 from Askys directly for 5 dollars each. That was one of my best flipped items ever.

I still have one left, so this new one will make a good companion to the original in my collection.

According to the description on the site, it sounds like it. At most GS might also carry it since Amazon and GS are the only "official" retailers listed on aksys' site for the game, but I would go with Amazon to be safe.

I think someone stated earlier that the colors are for the LEDs of the watch and not the watch itself.

I'm surprised that it's still not up but also glad that it hasn't run out yet I guess. Pre-ordered a Vita version for now, and, like many others I'm sure, will cancel and re-order a 3DS one whenever I can.

AFAIK, they were the same price yesterday. I think it's a programming error maybe? The Vita version is now listed as the "Pre-order Bonus" edition, whereas the 3DS still says "Standard" edition on its product page. Or what's supposed to be its product page anyway..

edit: Hopefully there weren't already too many 3DS pre-orders? That would really suck if it went out of stock right away, and we're waiting on Amazon to confirm shipment numbers.

The Touch controls on the vita are quite unresponsive and navigating menus is harder since you only have 1 screen.

I would not classifly the touch controls on the Vita as "unresponsive"... and what are you comparing them to? The touch controls on the 3DS... get out of here.

I wouldn't say that hands down. Gameplay-wise, the only difference between the two versions is the 3DS version allows you to write notes on the bottom screen.

The 3DS has the 3D of course, while the vita version has overall higher graphical fidelity. It all depends on what you're looking for when deciding which version is "best".

Here's some screenshot comparisons from the Japanese version of the game. Some of the 3DS screens are blown up so they're blurrier, but the difference in pixel density should be clear.
