I'm pretty flexible, just want the best value in terms of sale price vs. what the market value of the TV is. Would strongly prefer LED and 120hz SmartTV and 3D are plusses but not that important.

Might sound odd, but I'd actually check Sears. I've noticed some huge price cuts on TVs when they have sales. Once I saw a TV that was $1300 off, which was almost half the price of the TV. So an almost $3000 TV for $1600, was what it ended up being. I'm referring to a new TV also, not one of the floor models or close outs. At my Sears, most of their TVs seem to be 3D LED and SmartTVs also. I'll definitely be going there when it comes time for me to get a new one. Wherever you find your TV though, I wish you good hunting and the best deal. Good luck.

The SuperBowl is right around the corner; I'd wait off until early Feb. (before the SuperBowl) and see what deals they'll have. A lot should/will be on sale since the newer models will hit the floor a few weeks after (in the spring).
My buddy got a Samsung 55" slim series 6100 LEDTV for $1300 from Best Buy 2 weeks ago, normally retails for $1800.

Go Panasonic on Plasma. Go VT,ST,GT or UT
First, how can you claim prior non-existance to devalue a movement? I am sure the civil rights movement would love that. "Well, there was no movement to free the slaves before, so why is it relavent now?"
Good job on the effort, but if you don't know the name of the movie, just leave it out. A discount on an "unknown" movie doesn't really help anyone.

Pretty sure Amazon will have it for around the same price.
It's pretty minimal on features and I/O but the picture is beautiful and the built-in speakers are better than expected.
Any reason why the OP is set on LED? I know I still have a problem with LED being "too real," or what is otherwise known as the "soap opera effect." It's probably something I could get used to over time but for now, plasma is still my go-to display technology.

LED is not the display. It is the backlight for an LCD display (replacing CFL). There are two types of LED, Full Array and Edge Lit. Full array is better than the best edge lit. Edge lit is miserable at the low end, and perfectly fine when well done. (Easier to make edge lit look good on a smaller set.) OLED is what you may be thinking of where the LED is actually part of the screen, but those are far too expensive for a large tv. You won't see those on anything but a Vita for a while.

the "too real" isn't because of the LED backlight. The Hz of the TV determines this. 60 is the standard. LEDs also have 120Hz (and 240Hz) basically they introduce artifical frames to makes it more seamless.
